no sorry, i just checked when was my last update and checked if mineworked because felt alarmed.
Here are my findings with Netflix on my note 9. Somehow netflix detects bootloader has been unlocked. Using a rom like devbase (and other custom roms) netflix will NOT appear in playstore, using google and searching for netflix on playstore takes you the app but gives you the error message as in the op. Flashing stock still does NOT solve the problem as in my case bootloader was still unlocked, only once i went into developer options and locked my bootloader did netflix work again out of the box.
I use the app on my N9 on pie with June security patch. No issues. Is there a different software version on ur device?

Thank you very much! Works perfectly on my Galaxy Note10+!!
Netflix sux. I'm switching to Blockbusters.
There's a brightness setting bar on the Netflix movie screen. You can see it when the movie is paused. I just figured that out. My screen kept going dark when I would start a movie & now I know why. lol duh
Not working
@megatooth do you still have the working patch?

I was using NUT's (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711982) which is 757 based and it worked with that. I've since upgraded to juanpirulo's 761 based version and deodexed, and still works fine.
Hope that helps.

Are you sure?
You can actually watch TV on sky go with a rooted device in the UK? I think it is impossible.
The app opens, but as soon as you try to watch it says that the device is rooted and will not work
Not a single rooted rom I have tried has worked and if you look into root cloak apps they all say that root can not be hidden from sky go and there is unlikely to be any work around for it.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Seems we're both right to some extent.
Up till now I'd only used it to watch Sky news and that works ok even now, but just tried watching the footie and got the message you described.
Thanks for that, I didn't know that sky news would work, so we are both wiser now

Hello! I got my Mi3 a few days ago and I'm having some issues. Some apps that I really need won't be installed because of compatibility issues. For that reason I wanted to root or at least update the phone, via the miui site.
However, my phone seem to be lacking some crucial elements. Such as the app called Update. I've been watching some videos on how to update the Mi3, and they use an app in the system folder called Update. And it doesn't exist on my phone. And when I enter the "about phone" in Settings and press the update button at the bottom, it just crashes to the homescreen.
I've tried the way of downloading the update file, developer rom, from the miui site, renaming it "update.zip" and putting it in the root directory, remove cache and booting from the update file. But it says the update file doesn't exist, even though I've put it where it's supposed to be.
Any suggestions? This is really bugging me.
Android version 4.3 JLS36C
MIUI version MIUI-JXDCNBD14.0
Thanks
Is it genuine or fake as it sounds like it could be a fake. Or maybe your just doing sonething wrong
How do I know if it's fake? Seems real.

Downloaded CPU-Z. It does have the Snapdragon 801, Qualcomm MSM 8974. 2,27 GHz. The specs are as they should, many languages available. Market works fine. The performance is really good and smooth. It's just that it's missing update app and the tutorials for updating it won't work for me. (Watched a video showing a fake Mi3, it had the wrong cpu, fewer languages, Market didn't work, and so on)
Edit: Downloaded the Xiaomi app "anti-fake", and it confirmed that I have a genuine version, although the IMEI and Serial Number didn't exist in their sales records. Bought the phone from aliexpress, that might be why.
Everything works as it should, except for the update thingy.

Yeah I tried method 1 and 2 and they wouldn't work. I might try the third option someday, but some comments mentioned issues so I'm a bit cautios with that one yet.
just download a stable recovery rom and flash it using Miflash.exe
Obviously make sure its the correct ROM for your phone.
i've used method 3 a few times now and it does work but it isn't the easiest method to understand. the pictures do help though.
Xiaomi's hardware is so delicate that there are cases of phone's display breaking inside jeans. Should i need to say about phone anymore? To avoid such instance Use Custom ROM enabled phone with Cyanogen.

Working fine for me. I'm on L09C432B182
Apparently it isn't compatible with any Huawei handset that has been upgraded to EMUI 5.0.
I literally updated mine just the other day, and it just crashes out on starting up the app. . . frustrating.
I do hope they manage to fix it soon.

As said above works on marshmallow but not on Nougat.
I've spoke to Barclays they are aware of the problem didn't give me a time frame for when the app would work just check when the app updates
Well, at least it's not just me. My phone only recently updated to EMUI 5.0 (Nougat) build and suddenly, Barclays is dead. Great.
Same problem here. On the Honor 6x, EMUI 5.0.
yes known problem barclays are aware. i rolled back to MM so I could use this app mainly.
Did you guys read the changelog before updating to Android 7? It specifically says that the Barclays app would crash because it doesn't support Android 7.

Hi,
i am perfectly fine with stock ROM and only one thing i would like to have beside. And it is Google phone app with capability to do search nearby places right from the phone app and the capability to see who actually calling behind unknown number.
I see some apks on apkmirror, but latest nonnexus apk is from 2016. So i rather ask here first. Do you guys tried this app and can confirm it has all the features i would like to have? Is it possible to have this app on our phone?
Do you have link to app for our device?
Thank you

I pulled this from OpenGapps. Flash the following Google dialer framework in TWRP and install it from the playstore... All the features work for me.

Possible operator error. Also, this isn't designed for Oreo to begin with.

How is it possible user error if it wasn't designed for Oreo? you never mentioned what os it was meant for. In any case, it did not, in fact, work for Oreo. However I did successfully use it for 7. Thanks for your work.

At first, I was saying it's an operator error because it does work. Of course it doesn't work for Oreo it clearly states the date when I pulled the framework in May. The OP was asking to use an updated dialer in stock. I provided him the framework with the ability to do so.... I wouldn't specify why because I was answering the OP.

same procedure as non rooted devices, Install as normal apk
I can confirm that it works on Moto G5 Plus (Sanders), stock rom, rooted with Magisk. Installed the dialer framework from the post by @atrac17 above, then phone apk (v.11) from here. (Play Market installation was still showing as unavailable for my device.) Then all I needed to do was to change the default phone app to google phone rather than Moto. Thanks for your help, guys. Couldn't figure it out by myself.
So freaking annoying we have to do this!.. Why on earth do we need Moto's dialer?!
I know the "disable miu optimizations" trick but that ain't a good idea, and i can install a third party Always On Display app from the Playstore, but with the latter the fingerprintscanner doesn't function well when unlocking the device so a no go either.
Any other workarounds to get rid of that ridiculous 10 second limitation from Xiaomi other than installing a custom rom?
If i knew this in advance i would have never bought this phone.

If the apps come from the play store, it should be safe.
Some apps need specific permissions to work.
It's just the security on the Xiaomi that blocks while on other brands these authorizations are automatically granted.

Hi, I found this magisk module on Mods center Telegram channel (which yes, needs to be rooted)
This basically removes the 10s limit. Don't have any screenshot but should work in the latest MIUI 13 since the module was made recently (posted on September 15 in the channel)
PS: Never tested it myself on stock ROM
Download (Gdrive) Made by Kashi

To get root i need to unlock the bootloader, might as well flash a custom rom then.
