Im not sure, but at the very beginning of owing this device, i installed this game shortly for 10 Min. Just for testing reasons, im no Android gamer overall. But i can choose every preset, ultra or epic too. Inc 60 FPS. German Note 9 SM-N960F DBT with Exynos. So i ask myself, if they killed this option maybe with Updates ? Im sure that i had this options..strange.
I dont know why they killed this option
Mobile flagship = 1000$ cant run this game on epic.. and galaxy s10 = 700$ can run it on epic really very funny
When bought note 9 I thought got the best phone in the world
If returne my note 9 it's good idea.... what's your advice

Dont get me wrong, this is just my personal opinion. I understand your posting, when you write return, that you will give it back to samsung, right ? If so..
You want to sell a Monster of a Phone, cause a mobile game, wich cant run on epic Preset ?
I guess most Note owners buy this Phone primary not for gaming reasons. They search for productive and business devices with nice Pen feautures for creative people aswell.
Show me just one Device out there, except the Notefamily from Samsung, wich comes with this bunch of Feautures & functions. I mean the overall package of this Phone. I guess you cant find any device.
I cant understand the point of selling such a device because of a preset in a game. If this was the only reason for you, to buy a Note, why you dont buy a gaming Phone like Razer Phone or other ? I guess such devices can run futuregames aswell on epic or whatever, when the Note maybe can run only on ''middle'' in lets say..4-5 years +/-.
So one more time, just my 2 Cents to your question of selling this device for a preset. You might think in a total differental way, that is okay ! :highfive:
I understand u but I am very angry because note 9 in us is better i dont know why .. note 9 in us = 1000$ and note 9 with exynos = 1000$
Really when I bought note 9 I thought I have the best phone on the world
When I said it not best phone because cant run game on ultra its mean when any phone can run any game on ultra this mean this phone have good hardware and good cpu right?

The Exynos Note 9 has a last gen SOC with graphics that are significantly weaker than it's Snapdragon counterpart. Even the 2016 Snapdragon 835 has more powerful graphics.
Honestly you should have done better research before buying the phone.
Research on what all the world have note with exynos cpu only us have snapdragon what can I do
Number 2 i dont know exynos cpu is very bad like this
Anyway I dont have anything now to do thanks all for answer
I would wait for a update to Fortnite. Maybe that will fix the graphis issues with the Exynos SOC. Normally these sort of issues happen with certain game titles.
I don't know why exynos cpu is weak I was have note 5 with exynos cpu and note 8 with exynos this is my first time to now the exynos is bad cpu

Dear all,
i have been using my mi5 for 1 year already. i am enjoying it except the camera, external speaker. I am using it with JDC stable nougat.
My question is is it a good idea to switch to galaxy note 5 ?
Have any of you used note 5 before? Would i suffer after changing snapdragon 820 to exynos 7420 ?
Please let me know your opinions and suggestions as they will be helpful to make a decision
Regards, Agil

what's your purpose on changing to Note 5? Mi5 is newest from specs standpoint. but unless you can justify that quad hd, big ass screen, and also the pen (of course) then i say go for it. because i will. i definetely can see myself use the pen for my needs. besides, from my experience, i barely notice the performance difference between my mi4c, redmi note 3, or z3c. so performance is not too big of deal for me. and the only game i play is FGO which is fine in older device even the lower end ones.
The biggest reason that holds me down, is laggy choppy interface animations in note 5. In our mi5 they are super smooth. Also note 5 doesnt seem to have good aosp roms. Main games i play are real racing 3 and ire blood and memory
If you buy Note 5 you have to flash Dr.Ketan Full S8+ port rom. That change note 5 to S8+
So being a huge note fan I have been saving for a new note since my Note 4.
Finally pulled the trigger on a Note 9.
The wife has a One Plus 6 my dad a Poco F1. Both 845 chipsets.
The fact that I did not get an 845 chipset with my note 9 is the one thing that spoils my experience and joy of owning the phone. We in asia seem to get the crappy Exynos chip set for some reason.
So now thinking off selling my note and importing one from the USA.
What are your thoughts on this insanity off offering the same phone with different chipsets. And why would Samsung do something like this.
Benchmark tests cant be trusted because I know Samsung cheats.
So just how different is the experience between the chip sets. I know its pretty rare that somebody would have exposure to both. As far as I can see my wifes 845 based One Plus 6 is faster. Never lags.
My reason for getting the note was best display, has a sd card slot which is critical for me.
Why would Samsung do this ?. Is it because they want to offer a cheaper exp to people in Asia ?.

So i have now the note 4 ... I know an old runner
But it's an amazing phone
And of course, I need to upgrade
There's a deal for note 9 for about 660$
But the problem is Exynos version
I searched allot and i think i am depressed
I can't make a decision
I wanted the snapdragons version it's not available anywhere i live
And there is no option except the (one plus 6t) and it is near the same price
I think every advantage go to Samsung
The display the camera The mic the vibration motor
Just the processor is the advantage to the OnePlus and the 2gig of ram
But again it's Exynos and i read allot of thing about the performance and the battery drain with allot of benchmark and test
I play games ((pubg)) especially
Can you advise me ..?
How is the phone after pie update?
And did you play games...how was the performance?
I consider my self heavy user
I don't know what to do i think my head is melting ....these a big thing to me i don't change my phone often
And Samsung was good with me in the note serice
But the SOC is very frustrated
Thanks and sorry for my English
Hi all, I'm planning to buy note 9 dual sim but I'm in confusion to buy snapdragon model or Exynos model. I have searched a lot & found that snapdragon version in much faster than exynos. I also noted that rooting & customization stuff is mostly available for Exynos model.
So, which one to buy? I want to root it & flash custom rom in it. Please help.

Just want to give you a warning not do this if you want to use Samsung pay and Samsung pass. So unlocking bootloader will trigger the safety thing in the knox chip which permanently breaks the Knox chip so apps like Samsung pay, Samsung pass secret folder wont function anymore since they need working Knox chip to work. Also encryption may break aswell since Knox stores the encryption keys I think.

Yes i know that. Samsung pay is not useful for me as i use other payment methods. So which model should i buy?

You pretty much answered your own question. Most of the community development happens on Exynos, so if you want to flash anything, get an Exynos variant.
If you live in the US then you would need to purchase the SnapDragon variant to get LTE/4G reception. As the Exynos variant isn't support for use in the US.

It's your choice really. Keep in mind that there are not a lot of ROM/kernels (currently 1 kernel )/specific modifications for the exynos note 9. You won't get a lot out of it, imagine after a year - it will be totally dead in development. What you will get is vastly inferior phone with 30% slower GPU, worse battery life, slower apps loading, slower multitasking, UI frame drops. The sd845 is not somewhat better, it runs circles around the exynos 9810. Yep, I have the exynos note 9. So if you want 3-4 ROMS and 1 kernel currently that will be gone when s10/note 10 comes out - go for the SOC that is more a midrange category for the price of the highend variant.
Will just say that few XDA fellow members got their hands over the both variants, all of them coming prepared for a difference. All of them said the difference is a lot bigger than what they expected, kept the snapdragon and returned the exynos.

Actually i like customizations & i use many apps which require root. I don't really use Custom Kernels. Only custom roms are my requirement & i modify other stuff in it myself for my personal use[emoji38]
So which one variant u recommend me? And what about s9+ snapdragon?

I think it's obvious which one I recommend - the snapdragon 945 note 9. For me it's: midrange phone with root or highend phone without root. It's not equal category that I decide between. Go at anandtech and search for Andrei's articles on 9810 and also there is one from December that directly put exynos note 9 vs sd note 9.
Between s9+ snapdragon and note 9 snapdragon - the note 9, it got a lot bigger battery, a lot better SOC cooling (important for the sd845 especially), s-pen, lower angle on the edges, bigger screen (albeit slightly).
Edit: you would be surprised how good is the spen for diablo 2 when the phone is on the table.

Thanks for ur recommendation. One last question. I have checked note 9 forum here and found that snapdragon variant doesn't have any custom rom with it. But exynos has couple of custom roms that are active.
I know snapdragon is faster n better than exunos but it has no custom rom as compared to exynos variant. So much confusion in buying[emoji26]

You are better off getting the Note 8 from your local retailer to ensure that you get the correct model for your country.
I live in India and I'm thinking about getting a new phone. I have two options mostly, buy the OnePlus 8/8 Pro or get a used Note 10 Plus. What should I do? I will get the Exynos version of Note 10. I currently own a Galaxy S10.
oneplus 8 pro is the best android out there for now. saying this cause IMHO (as close to) stock android or oxygenOS is much better than OneUI and will ever be.
I am a Samsung fanboy, so I say get the note 10 as long as you can get one with a snapdragon processor.
dude I'm a s10+ user indian variant imo u should just buy op8 pro coz exynos is the ****tiest flagship processor u can get never buy Samsung flagship in india my biggest regret

Nothing against India at all, but you guys do tend to get ****ty Samsung hardware. ?
Go for the OP 8. I regret getting it. Battery life is...well, it's absolute crap on the S10 Exynos variant.
Keep in mind I'm comparing it to my Pixel 2 XL. The physical difference is only 100mAh less on the S10 but it feels like there's a lemon from your science project barely holding on to dear life in there.

yea bro Samsung is just milking Indians I'm thinking of switching to op8 or op8 pro if i get a good deal for this s10+
You either love Samsung or you hate it i guess ? the oneplus in specs wins it against the Samsung. I still would go for the Samsung. I love the updates they provide the last 2 years. And really happy with all the other stuff. Galaxy buds/galaxy watch. ect
It always amazes me when people want comparison of 2 or more phones nobody mentions the physical dimensions.
I went with S10 because I got the biggest real estate/ screen for the most compact size and still be able to use it one-handed.
