Hello,
I´m using the Pioneer AVH-X8700BT Headunit. When I was using it with my Google Nexus 5 everything was fine. With the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Huawei Mate S I have problems and perhaps you have ideas that could help me:
Samsung Galaxy S6: I can use Android Auto without problems .... and after a while (sometimes 10, sometimes 20 minutes or longer) the display of the Head Unit turns black. But the navigation or Spotify sound is still playing.
Huawei Mate S: Here I can also usw Android Auto without problems. Then I go for shopping and take my device with me. After this I come back to my car and want to start Android Auto again but the Head Unit says "you can use Android Auto with this device". When I reboot the Huawei everything is finde again ...
And next problem with this device: I can sent WhatsApp messages with the Google voice function "sent Whatsapp to ...", BUT I´m not notified on the Head Unit, when I receive a WhatsApp message ... this works fine with the Samsung S6.
Any ideas?
Hello everyone,
I'd love to have a display to which I could connect my Android phone (via Android Auto) in a similar way like I can do in my Seat Ibiza, just so I could have Android Auto on a big(ger) screen on any car I'm driving (parents, brother, friends, work).
I've done some googleing, but couldn't find a successful project (there's one person who said it was quite unstable), so I came here to get confirmation for either side.
I appreciate your answers! Thanks a lot in advance!
You can install Android Auto app on your Android Head Unit, but you get the problem when you try to call. The app thinks that the radio is the phone, and does not recognizes it as a handsfree. If somebody could tweak it, it would be wonderful.
Is this working at all
YES! Perfectly! And Google assistant keeps me company when I am stack in traffic??
Works fine for me also
hi guys,
has anyone tried P20Pro with Android Auto on a KIA Sportage latest series?
is that working fine ?
I don't know how the kia system works but with Ford I have to enable android auto in the cars settings first then it automatically starts android auto when I plug my phone in
thank for the info,
on the KIA Sportage 2017 you must first start the AA app on the cell, then attach the smartphone with the USB cable to the system, only after the KIA navigator activates the android auto function.
On a site (link at the bottom) I read that any problems of disconnecting android cars are due to the USB connection settings on the phone, but just (no root) enable USB tethering. The charging will be deactivated immediately and all available bandwidth will be used to run Android Auto.
Unfortunately, I do not know if this will be possible on Android P.

Are you talking about P20pro connected to KIA? Or only about the connection to Kia by android auto?
Thank you
Yes! I have p20 pro connected to Kia sportage.
Ok, I'll buy it. Thank you
Ordered.... ?
Great choice for both, car and phone! :good:
I've got a Kia Optima and I don't get a ringtone on android auto - works ok when connected to just bluetooth, but on AA I just get the notification coming up on the screen and no sound
Any ideas?
Have you tried to check the media or phone volume on optima navi?
Yes, all on max. Head unit worked OK with my Samsung S7 Edge.
Will reset the bluetooth connection tomorrow, see if that helps. Already tried the Google Play Services hack, that didn't work - except mess up my Google Maps timeline
Tempted to do a factory reset and start agin - had a few issues that I now know how to fix, such as no alarms when do not disturb and whitelist is set

Hi, first post so bare with me.
I have a android head unit in my vehicle and a samsung s10 5g phone.
Every time I switch the ignition on and they try to connect the android audio on my phone never seams to connects. It seams to be continually searching for a connection with the head unit.
This blocks the phone from connecting to anything else. I.E maps.
Wifi and Bluetooth both connect with out any problems.
Photo of Head unit system attached.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.
Thanks Andy.
