Hi, I've tried 4 computers and 3 cable, still, they can't recognize my Xiaomi MI A2. At first, the device appears but as I try a single command it doesn't detect it. After one command i try the ADB devices and nothing appears. I've tried kill and start server but it's the same.
When I get it: * daemon not running; starting now at tcp:5037
* daemon started successfully.
However, after the first command, this happens: no devices/emulators found

Hello, I recently got Ubuntu installed on my computer. I got the Android SDK set up on it, but I cannot get adb shell to work, everytime I try it this happens:
[email protected]:~$ adb shell
* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started successfully *
error: insufficient permissions for device

This never used to happen on windows, does anyone have any idea on how to fix it?
Have you tried running it as root? It tells you in the error message that you've got insufficient permissions...

I am trying to get adb setup so I can root my NC and install some apps. The problem i'm having is I don't think I can get the proper drivers to install. I am following these steps ADB SETUP but when I get to step 3
My computer doesn't see "Android Composite ADB Device". It sees "Android adb interface". When I go to step 4
IV. Verify that everything worked
Start > Run > cmd > Enter
cd\
cd android-sdk-windows\platform-tools
adb kill-server
adb devices
If you get output that looks like the following you have succeeded:
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
List of devices attached
[YOUR NOOKCOLOR SN] device
If you did not succeed, identify each nook entry in device manager (each device with a Hardware ID of USB\VID_2080&..., right click and uninstall it. There may be several. Uninstall all of them. Unplug the nookColor, replug it, and restart from Section III.
Further debugging: If you have an Android ADB composit interface and you still do not get your serial number listed, please repeat section 2, step 2, then verify that the file \users\yourname\.android\adb_usb.ini is exactly six characters long, and contains exactly 0x2080
I don't get my device listed. What have I done wrong?
Also when I uninstall all the drivers to start over if I connect the NC and look under device manager "NOOK" pops up for just a min then goes away and then its listed "under universal serial bus controllers"
I may have just figured it out. Do I have to do the whole sdcard boot thing before I can enable adb?
Uninstall the "android adb interface" then plug your nook to a USB port that is on the back of your computer, not from the front panel.
I hadn't done the root process before trying to setup adb but I got it now. Thanks for the help
I just bought Htc one ywsterday and i was unlocking the bootlaader today and root, and i'm trying to flash custom rom, but i can't copy anything to my storage... i did install sdk and the drivers and everything, tried lots of things, tried with adb push but it's not working, and now i'm pissing off... don't know what's the problem/.....???

So when you plug your HTC device into the computer...go to start-computer and you dont see htc one as a media device? It should also pop up with options to open files in your device when you first plug it in
No no, the device pops out but the problem is the copyng starts and then it stucks... even for files that are 1mb
EDIT: Never mind.

Sent using my HTC One from that FBI van parked down the street.
Unplug the USB and replug. Make sure the screen is unlocked. Sometimes happens.

also do not use a USB 3.0 port on your computer
I accidentally deleted my data and it says "No OS installed". When I plug in the phone to the PC and I check devices it only displays "Android Phone" and I cannot access the phone itself from the PC.
How am I suppose to sideload if I cannot access it in the first place? :[

this is from the AT&T forum, but the procedure is the same:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2318497
you need adb 1.0.31 to use sideload
you can check your adb version with this command:
Code:
adb version

Hello everyone
I was wondering if someone can help me. I've been trying for a week to get my device recognized by the my Windows 10 PC, but it keeps coming up as unauthorized. I've seen all the posts:

Sorry for all the links, just trying to prevent people saying i haven't tried everything. Even going to a new computer where i never plugged in the Fire 7 in said it was unauthorized. Here is the errors i get (i ran this in the folder itself using powershell and cmd as admin)
D:\Fire 7\3rd attempt\platform-tools>adb devices
List of devices attached
serial number unauthorized
D:\Fire 7\3rd attempt\platform-tools>adb kill-server
D:\Fire 7\3rd attempt\platform-tools>adb start-server
* daemon not running; starting now at tcp:5037
* daemon started successfully
D:\Fire 7\3rd attempt\platform-tools>adb devices
List of devices attached
serial number unauthorized
D:\Fire 7\3rd attempt\platform-tools>adb usb
error: device unauthorized.
This adb server's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set
Try 'adb kill-server' if that seems wrong.
Otherwise check for a confirmation dialog on your device.
I'm at a loss, i know it works sicne i've seen a bunch of people do it online, but for some reason i can't do it. Please help! Anything would be helpful! Thank you in advance!
Did you find a workarround? I'm stuck in the same place as you. Tried everything you mention and fail...

i had this on ubuntu from a command line, but abdlink said authorized (but nothing would install). I went to windows10 and i get the prompt on the tablet and no issues. I don't know if the ubuntu adb drivers don't work right or what. It seems to work fine in ADB on windows...
I have had to turn off adb usb on the fire before and remove authorizations to get it to prompt for adb.
I fixed it in Ubuntu by changing it to media device instead of charging only.
Edit - worked one time, then back to unauthorized....
next edit -
sudo adb kill-server
sudo adb devices
that prompted the authorization for me
