I think some countries in Europe and Australia will have it as single sim config(i suppose), but lets hope that there will be an SM-G977FD model available

hi everyone! i have this doubt: if i buy an htc one "unlocked version" in us, will i be able to use it here in italy with my vodafone operator?
and the unlocked version is the same htc one that they sell here in europe? i mean, the at&t, verizon ecc versions have their own modding limits, the unlocked version can be modded as much as the european version?
thanks

stay away from Sprint and Verizon!! (CDMA phones, not GSM)
maybe this will help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223236
hmm, the chart is down...
EDIT: here you go:

thanks a lot dude! so, basically, i have to check the model id of the european version and the model id of the us one. If they are the same, i can do the same modding, right?
then, with the "unlocked version", i can use my operator here in italy, can't i?
Edit: another question: does exist a 64gb unlocked version?

I think most US models will be PN0712000 whereas European ones will be PN071000 (the LTE models)... non LTE European models will be PN0711000
But what you should check is whether you'll be able to get LTE in Europe, using a US phone, because I don't know if the bands are compatible... maybe someone can give you a confirmation about that.
Thanks i will wait for some infos

Here is a models reference list for Note 8 incl. cell bands:
https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-note-8-sm-n950-model-number-differences/
knowing that, you can look-up the proper firmware in SamMobile.
N950F and N950FD are the same! The D only stands for dual SIM but both are using the same firmware.
Don't be afraid to hit the "Thanks" button if someone helped you. It don't hurts

I see differences between these two versions in regard to LTE bands, ver. F has 10 bands vs. 16 in FD. The 'F' is exclusive to EU, FD is EU and beyond.

That is correct! However I wouldn't recommend installing the stock OS from the N950F onto the N950FD. As the modem software maybe different as the FD model has dual SIM capabilities.

And which firmware you want to install instead? There is only one version available for F and FD!
I also have the FD variant device and flashed the F firmware (also only bootloader and modem) more then 1 time!

They're the same firmware actually in this case, so no worries there. For example, on Sammobile there is no N950FD firmware, only N950F firmware which works for both models.
Thank you for clarification, very interesting. So, the script addresses the differences on its own. Am trying to add Android to the list of my after_hours hobbies. I have a lot to learn. I was wondering about adding Band66 from N950FZKDBTU to F/DS version. T-Mobile has that here in the US, and I thought that maybe I could flash the radio partitions from the UK version so, no, it has to be done by nv edit. I'd think.

The link in post #2
I am from Germany and I just got a used Note 9. It is not the SM-N960F (with Exynos) but a SM-N960U1 (with Snapdragen). I wonder which model is better especialy when using it in Germany. Should I keep it or give it back.
I am not sure about all the differences and have a few questions:
Does the US model suppoert all the GSM and LTE bands which are used in Germany?
(The US model supports (W)CDMA but that is useless here.)
Can the bootloader of the US model be unlocked?
(AFAIK you can easy unlook bootloader of the Exynos models via developer options.)
Are there more differences?
Again: Should I keep the phone or should I better get an EU model instead? What would you do?
Please help! Thank you!

Hi, mine is N960F/DS
I've got no idea what it means. I think the first "F" is for "international", rest, who knows?

I will move soon to New Zealand but I want to use my note 9 bought in Chile. The question is this:
If I flash the NZ firmware on my note could I be able to use a NZ sim and use it?
Thanks in advance! And a happy new year

they are already unlocked, you just need to check if they use the same bands in NZ.
I used my N9 in England without a problem with the stock firmware.
Regards . Saludos.

What model is your device sm-n960F or SM-N9600 i am in NZ and have SM-N9600 which is the Asia and south american variant
there is no NZ Firmware for it and you wont be able to receive VOLTE (Some helpful error about not being supported on this software version) but you can get Wifi Calling from 2degrees

Mine is n9600 too, so could I use my phone over there? That could be excellent if it's true! :highfive:
Thanks you so much!
It works on the relevant bands including rural 700mhz 4g so long its not carrier locked it works 98% (no VOLTE)
