Huawei P30 Pro Screen Issue - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Anyone here encountered the same issue? After I lock my phone theres a light pop uping in bottom left curve part in the screen before the fingerprint indicator light up? SC told me that it is normal because of the fprint optical sensor.

I don't see any light. Maybe take a video of it and post it here.

I have it.... Is it normal?

screen edge light bleed

Today I've noticed that there is a light bleed on edge of my screen when I look at it with angle. I do not know if it was there before or it is new,but I've noticed when I was trying to root my 2.3.4 update!
any idea? should I take my phone to guarantee service?
Thanks!
Check your phone with the (uhh..) key combination
It's 3845#*970# in my country, don't know if yours the same
do some search
But if it's clearly a screen bleed, take it to the center
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda premium
I noticed too that the bottom end of the screen, shows some "bleeding" when in total black.
I carefully watched though, that, it's not color bleeding or LCD issue, it's the capacitive buttons back-light which glares from the inside of the screen film.
I turned off the back-light of the capacitive buttons and my screen was plain black.
Give it a try for yourself mate, if it's not plain smooth black, then it's indeed an LCD issue and you have to take it on a service center.
Thank you for replies!
as you see in below images the light is only visible in close angles.
Does anybody have the same problem?
I've tried 3845#*970# and no problem found.
Thanks!
the left one ? the strip of light ?
i think it's just the led

OLED Display black to grey smearing

Hey,
i just got the Xiaomi mi8 (Global Rom, MIUI 9.6) and noticed a thing with the display. If the brightness is under 40% (lower the problem gets more and more visiable, gets really bad at 10-15%) the black is starting to smear if next to a grey color. If i move a black part surrounded by grey over the screen the black smears into the grey. I also noticed there is a slight color gradient from left (dark) to the right (getting brighter).
I contected the shop i bought it from and they said they never heard of this problem. I googled the problem but got no resaults. The shop send me a new Xiaomi mi8 but guess what, the same problem occured on this new device too.
I tried to record a video but its really hard if the room is dark and the screen is at a low brightness but maybe you can see what i mean at the edges of the black parts if you look closely.
mi 8 screen recorded with a camera:

I made a test pattern and attached it to this post. Would be really helpful if somebody could check this on his/her own mi 8 and leave feedback!

Really? Hmm, than i have to look for a device with a good old LCD panel.
Absolutely normal, my old s7 did this too, its due to the fact that pixels are turned off when displaying black and it might take a fraction of a second to turn on resulting in this smear. Happens to all oled displays

Burn in? No, but it's weird.

Since I have only had my Mi 9 for less than a month, it should be impossible that it already has a Burn In...
However on the part of the screen where the fingerprint sensor sits, I noticed a grey-ish circle, which is exactly the size of the fingerprint. Since Burn In after 2 weeks should be impossible I turned the phone off and restarted it after a Minute and the spot was gone.
Now 2 hours later it is there again.
I don't even use the fingerprint sensor very often, only if I can't use face unlock...
Did anyone experience a similar problem?
(Btw, it's not software, I took a screenshot and it wasn't there)

Well, that's interesting... Do follow this up to let us know what's up.
Before I got my Mi 9 yesterday, I clocked a full 4 years on my Note 4, and never experienced burn in... In fact, I would argue that the display looks the same today, as it looked the day I bought it. (no noticeable brightness drop)
i have experienced this on every "in display fingerprint" phone i've owned, and all it it is the optical sensor slightly visible with the screen off .

Hey Man sorry for telling you so but this gray spot is the actual hole that your phone needs for the indisplay fingerprint scanner to work. You cannot notice it in all conditions. To test it go out in the sun max out the brightness and use a completely white photo.
P.s. there is another hole near your notch which is your proximity sensor

Fingerprint burn in

My Mi 9 display is starting to burn in the fingerprint image after just 2 months of usage. I'm going to turn off the fingerprint unlock to prevent it getting worse.
Does this sound normal?
Doesn't sound normal but AMOLED displays are know for burn in marks. For that to happen you need to have the fingerprint image always on display. I got a MI9 and the finger print image dissapear after some time and reappear if I lift the phone so its almost impossible in a normal usage to burn in the display.
What kind of burn-in is it? Is it the icon, or is it from the strong light that lights up the fingerprint at scanning? The fingerprint icon must show at the same place all the time unlike the rest of the AOD. I can se how keeeping the icon on at the exact same place all the time 24/7 may hurt an AMOLED display. I turned off, both AOD and fingerprint icon, after a day or so to save battery. Now it shows only on the lockscreen for a few seconds.

So I had seen it as a sort of retention of the fingerprint image that appears on the lockscreen. I saw it when I was walking outside in full sun today. I quickly installed an app to check different colours full screen (dead pixel fix) and it clearly showed the burn in for several colours.
But now that I'm home, I tried again the screen check app and the burn in is gone!
So I wonder if it was either just temporary retention, or if I need to be outside in full sun to see the burn.

Please come back here and tell us if you see it again. It would be good to know if the display is this sensitive to permanent burn-in. Keeping the icon shut off at the AOD would probably be a good idea, I find it rather easy to hit the right spot after some time of practice in the blind.
That what you have seen on sun isnt burn in, that is normal see-through screen becase sensor is under display.
No need to panic, i seen it too but that is not a problem.
Same as marko378, it's totally normal to see this on bright daylight, it's not a bur in.
Its the finger print sensor and i see it at day one
No problem bro enjoy your phone

Nice, today in full sun I confirmed what you're all saying. It's the sensor, the hole behind the screen, and it's only visible at certain angles in full sun.
Thanks to you all for helping
That's normal because the scanner is under the screen so it has to be a little transoarent there to work that's why In screen scanners are mainly used by oled displays. Enjoy the phone

It is not safe for the screen in my opinion to maintain the figerprint area always lighted. I use it as per default setting that dimly lights it when I take the phone and then in few seconds it disappeared even if I touch the screen. More than 1 year with the phone and no burning in the screen.

Honor 9 lite screen dimming and flickering

Whenever i use my phone, its screen brightness dims (Adaptive brightness is OFF) and when i pressure the top right part of the screen the screen gets normal for a while. I've tried to get it fixed from service center 2 times but the problem comes back after few weeks. I've also found out that if i press the top-left part of the screen, it dims the screen brightness. Can someone tell me what the problem is.. Is it some loose wiring or is it damaged display?
