I've been looking for Gcam for my P20 Pro because I feel like sometimes the portraits from the stock camera are not as good as they should be, I think that stock camera is not using the hardware properly I found a version of Gcam 2 months back which worked with few changes but night sight and portrait wasn't working! I want one with working portrait mode. If anyone got one please share it.

Try this. The mega link has the gcam with front camera portrait mode. To use it you need to adjust the iso with the left scroll to 800-3200. Just don't leave it on auto. This worked for me before on oreo, nougat and now with miui.

Oh btw, some oreo roms have fixed the problem with the iso on auto. So you only need to adjust it manually if you are on nougat.

Hello everyone! Before starting this article , I would like to say that this Gcam port doesn't belong to me. There are multiple developers that worked on this , i'm here just to share the link and my experience with it.
"Story" :
Anyways , I've had my P Smart for a year now, And I mostly bought it for the camera.
After using it for about 7 months , I really saw how poor the processing is on the stock camera app. So I decided to look at some solutions to my problem.
One of the main problems with the stock camera for me was the "Portrait Mode" and "Wide Aperture". They were really bad on EMUI 8.0 and they are just as bad on EMUI 9.1. And well, Here is Gcam to solve the problem
My experience with it:
I've been using this Gcam port for a while and I can say that it is amazing.
Things that work really well:
-HDR,HDR+, the zoom is waaay better
-Portrait mode works like a charm and looks very good (only works on humans, not objects)
-Video Recording (also you can easily stabilize the videos from the Google Photos app)
-Photo sphere
What doesn't work:
-Night Sight
-Slow-mo
-Panorama
-Taking a photo with no HDR
What kind of works :
-RAW ( has a really weird green tint on the pic)

All of these photos were taken with the stock camera (Emui 9.1) and Gcam
1)Stock Camera, Normal mode, No zoom
2)GCam , HDR+ enabled, No zoom
3)Stock camera , Normal mode, Full zoom
4)GCam , HDR+ enabled ,Full zoom
As you can see , the dinamic range is way better on GCam
VERY IMPORTANT!!
Settings before you use it!
The default settings are wrong. You first need to go to "More" then "BSG settings" and then set the saturation as you like , otherwise the photos look dead

I've been using this for a long while got it from honor 9 lite forums. Here are the settings that I use. Front camera isn't very good though always makes lights pink and even rear camera sometimes does it but I try to fix it in snapseed.
If you do have good settings for front cam let me know!

Well , the saturation settings don't really matter , it's about preference,
But I think it's some sort of glitch from the app itself, and to avoid the glitch , you always have to focus on the point where is the most light. here are my setting tho , and an example of the pink tint on my p smart
I cannot seem to get video to work, everytime I try the app just closes. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Disable "stores videos efficiently"
Guys I have a European z20. The system camera crashes when I try to change from main camera to wide angle or zoom on the tip and shoot. In pro mode instead it works regularly. Anyone who has the european z20 confirm it to me as a bug? Thank you
I've been using an HyperCam app that was working with 48mp sensor in portrait mode, but it suddenly stopped working, freezing when I change to portrait mode. I don't remember the version or where did I downloaded it. My K20 Pro isn't rooted or anything but 48mp was working even without root and magisk module. Can someone help me find that version?
you need to select the portrait mode, than tap to focus .this will trigger the 48mp cam. only works Hypercam
I am very interested in getting the camera app of the x70 Pro Plus for my X60 Pro Plus, specially for the aforementioned Zeiss shooting mode where the colours in images might be more natural / better
One can try to use the camera app on the x60 pro plus on the x60 pro plus after making sure to back up the older one
And try it out
We can try asking for someone to upload the app from the x70 pro plus forum
Edit I checked the other thread and it seems that it doesn't work and would ruin the stock original one too
It wud be great if someone who had the skillset work on porting it for the x60 pro plus

On a separate note, the original camera app used to brighten the skin and smoothen it even when the said settings were turned off. I reset my camera app once and doing so solved that issue for me and improved the image quality to the original release level, specially for the 32mp 2x telephoto.

That's great I just reset my phone yesterday so far the battery life has seemed to have had an uptick compared to the last time and I debloated almost all the apps except for powerguardian which I had done so the last time and doing so led to worser battery life
I have to force doze via adb for naptime to see if I get back the amazing battery life I had seen during the initial weeks

Hey, how did you reset the camera app?
I had done so on Android 11 via system app manager, that allows resetting / uninstalling updates on the default vivo apps. Though I am not able to find the same settings on Funtouch OS 12 now
On an unrelated note, has anyone managed to make Gcam 8.4 work on the x60 pro plus with Funtouch OS 12? I can only get versions up to 8.3 working, 8.4 version apps can be installed, but crash on launch and I don't know why
