Question, do you have a button remap
app installed on your device.
Eg, bxActions app.?
If so could your little one by accident have pressed "combo buttons "eg double press or long press, to enable "Full screen"
Otherwise there's plenty of apps in Play store that can enable/disabled full screen (no statusbar) etc.
Use one of the apps eg bxActions or Shortcutter app etc.
Good luck.

Popup to change song

Hello.
First sorry for my bad english.
I searched a bit on google but didn't find anything. What I really like on the Iphone is the double tap on home button to show a popup to change songs, is there any app to do the same on android ?
If not, is it technically possible to develop it ? (I was thinking of a background application that could get the buttons you press like key mappers softwares on computers).
Sincerly, Kouray.
Yes, you have something very similar. You can double click on power button to show lock screen and then you can change to nex or previous song or pause
Or you can use a widget on your home screen - mixzing has a really nice one, so whenever you jump back to home you can change tracks
So I guess there is no other way, thanks guys
actually, you could use bar control, and put the a shortcut to the music app in your notifications bar, then you can get to it from anywhere in the phone, just by pulling the notification drawer. Does this help?

Remove navigation buttons when playing games?

Hey forum.
Had XZ för about 2 weeks now and I'm happy with it... but;
Is there any way to remove the navigation buttons when you play games?
I mean, when you look at videos, they are hidden.
This is so disturbing when you play a game where the controls are pretty much at that location, and you accidently
press "Home" and leaving the game, or "Back" button to go back

Well, as far as I know, all the games got menu that allows the player to exit the game.
You could mention one that doesn't have it?

This app "full!screen" temporary hides the notification bar and replaces the navigation buttons, but does require root.
Did not really bother with the app "buttonsavior" because "full!screen" covers all functions I need.
All you will have left is the BACK button and HOME button, you can set size and transparency \ color.
(These should be set kinda small and transparant and placed in the left and right corner so you do not see them to much.)
Then you can as assign long press and swipe up to each button, so you basically have all functions covered.
- Restore systembar (So you can get your original navigation buttons back anytime you want.)
- Open apps menu (Opens the option menu of the current app.)
- Show notifications (Shows the on-going events of the notification bar.)
- Show recent apps
The only downsides I found are:
- When you restore systembar the battery percentage no longer shows on the official notification bar.
(This is fixed after rebooting the phone, perhaps anyone knows another way of getting it back?)
- I did not find out how to close apps from the recent apps function like you can with the build in task manager.
(This is not a big problem as you can regain the official bars anytime you want.)
I really love using the browser and games using this.
Kind regards, Stefan.

Function of softkeys

I love the idea of softkeys. With it you can put bigger screens on smaller devices and they can disappear whenever needed to.
The main problem is that it's a 50/50% chance that they will disappear when I think that they should. With physical keys that's never an issue.
Movies, yes
Games, yes
Full screen applications, yes
etc.
What determines when the keys disappear and not? Is it up to the app creator? What can I do about it (I'm not rooted)?
They can't always disappear in full screen games. If the game needs a back button you would be stuck.
I assume there is something in there that tells it. Much like if an app does not have an on screen menu button (usually three dots), a menu button will be added to the lower right side of the portion of the screen where the soft keys are.
It's not there for all apps, only ones that don't have a menu button on screen. Not sure if this is declared by the app or if 4.4 can detect it somehow and show the button when needed.

On my tablet (running 4.1) I get these dots you are talking about (but not in the lower right corner, they replace the ordinary softkeys)). That's all fine because they take less space (from what I remember) then the ordinary softkeys.
If it all comes down to having a back button in the app, why not implement that in the app?
I downloaded crazy taxi yesterday and those softkeys are annoying me as hell.
I ended up getting used to using LMT and just turn on expanded desktop to make the navigation keys go away. That way if LMT gives me any trouble...I just hit the power button and turn off expanded desktop and my navigation keys are back. (Gravity box to get that option in power menu.)
Hated pie at first...but used to it now.

Any easy way to set Google Voice to power button double tap?

I use Google Voice all the time and it sure would be nice to have it at my finger tips instead of digging in my apps, everytime I want to use it. Is there a simple remap app?

In the settings for Gear Manager you can choose the app that is assigned to the double press shortcut. If you're on null rom you'll need to revert the home button remapping so instead of a lock button it is a home button again. You can't manually sleep the screen when you do this however. To get around that I put GMD gesture control on the watch to add a swipe in gesture to the right side to sleep the watch (also have a swipe in from left for back and swipe from bottom for home). If you've added any apps to the watch after setting it up they won't show in Gear Manager. To get them to show up in GM you need to delete the file /data/data/com.samsung.android.app.watchmanager/files/wapplist.xml and reboot your phone. Personally I used tasker on my watch for music controls. I then export those tasks as apps and delete that file so they show up in GM. I also installed the regular version of Gravity Box so I could map long press of the button to another app. Hope that points you in the right direction.

Note that there is a feature in GravityBox under status bar tweaks where you can enable sleep on double tap of the status bar. I use this, and it works great!
That way, you can avoid using more precious storage space for an app (like GMD) to provide the same function.

I like having the swipe up go to a specific home screen with my clock on it via a tasker task exported to an app.

How to lock screen without pressing power button?

Hi!
I'm wondering if I can lock my device without pressing the power button. In my galaxy s9+, I used the "custom navigation bar" app to add an invisible power button to the navigation bar, but this app CRASHED my note9!!!!
I spent 2 hours trying to solve the issue without losing my apps and stuff, successfully. Now I want to use another way to save my power button.
I installed an app called "home launcher" to use the home long press to call another app instead of google search, but every app to lock screen causes the fingerprint sensor to stop working without password.
I miss my old Xiaomi Mi 6
Someone knows how to do this?
you can install an app called "turn off screen (lock screen)" by redmanit from the play store. it gives you the option to put an icon on the homescreen or from your notifications drop down, press it and it'll lock your phone in 5 seconds. this is the only app i know of that works with the note 9's android 8.1
Nova launcher can do it as far as I know.
Installed a 3rd party screen off app. Using the widget Extended Date which then gives you the settings to show time/date/week/day/etc. There's a function to link to any app in this case screen off. Thus touching the date switches off the screen. Been using this setup way back when I still had my Note 2. Still works (both the screen off app and the widget).

Turn on the Assistant Menu. That has a lock button that will turn your screen off. It will not "lock" your phone, just turn off the screen. Screen locks @ whatever you've set as the lock out time (screen locks "x" number of seconds after pressing power button). If you want to "lock" it instantly, requiring password to open, I use Nova Launcher and a screen input gesture. That locks it instantly and requires, I think, your password - not your fingerprint.
See screenies for info.

you can use OHO+ without goodlock though, if you only need the lockscreen gesture.
OHO+ is a "standalone" app, luckily.
Screen lock button in navbar via good lock + navstar ?
