like the title says what launch/home do you use? and what features does it have that set it apart?
im currently using adw or regina, but i think regina takes up a lot of resources to run.
ZEAM Launcher
Less than ~8 MB in memory footprint, and has a surprising set of customizations available.
LauncherPro. Can set custom dock/app icons on homescreen. Also, built-in widgets for messaging, facebook, gmail, etc. Ability to re-size widgets.
There's a thread titled "best launcher?" on the second page of this section. If you want some ideas, that's a good place to start.
I use Arc Launcher, it's really slick and light on resources.
Does anyone know how to remove screens from Arc Launcher?
SPB Shell 3D. Yes, I was impulsive and spent way too much money on it, but the interface is amazing and it is very smooth. Downside (other than cost) is that it uses about 60 megs of memory on average.
i hope this is the right section if not please move. but is launcher pro the only one where u can change the icons without using a theme. i like changing the app draw icon like now im using mosaic(sp) icon. but im kinda tired of launcher pro and looking for something different, but i keep finding myself coming back to launcher pro.
Go launcher can do what you want.
thanks ill give it a try.
Multiple Launchers
If I have multiple launchers installed (or even just 1 extra than the stock launcher), do they all use system memory even if I have a default set? I'm using Serendipity VII, which I love, but I want to customize the icons so I've installed Go Launcher.
Am I taking a performance hit by using a different launcher?

Click to collapse
As far as I know, no**, you won't take a performance hit by using a different launcher.
**Caveats:
1. As long as the launcher you use isn't a memory hog by itself.
2. As long as you check and make sure TouchWiz (or any other launcher) isn't showing up as a running process while you're using the other launcher.
Adw ex gets the job done, sure you have to pay for it but in my experience it gives me the best battery life and it's smooth as butter. I'm running darky's 10.2.2 and ADW beats go launcher and Launcher pro, just as responsive and snappy, way better battery life =)
I'd say use launcher pro plus/ adw free/donate version. I was huge fan of go launcher and widgets but after watching this http://youtu.be/iGPbvzPvkWw I am not sure if its really safe or not. Also if you really care about the performance use zeam as said in video, it is very very light on memory...
I bought LauncherPro after using the free version that DG had put into one of the Cognition roms. I loved it so much I bought a license. It's smooth, responsive, and very customizable, although I have left it stock.
ADWex for me all the way....GO Launcher was always laggy for me and I never liked Launcher Pro
OR you can try Launcher 7 PRO....which I made tiles for...this is what it looks like.

i agree adw ex works the best for me and has a lot of features. Launcher pro is probably the smoothest but has a few bugs and very few features. Go launcher is also great too if you want a free launcher with a bunch of features
is it better to change to go luncher?
or download a softwear which creates folders? (to many icons in manu screen really need some way to orginize them)
p
its your personal decision what you like
frogot to write that i mean in terms of speed
i heard that go luncher takes alot more ram then adw, so i was wondering what would be faster
adw + folder app
go luncher
Replaced my Smart Launcher yesterday and my battery drainage went from 1% in 5 hours to about 5%per hour with the Nova Launcher. How is this possible?
I just had to restore from an backup because of nova i think... the screen went black and all i saw was the status bar... ****ty launcher, use stock instead
Sorry if this is a newbie question. The P30 Pro has finally come down enough in price that I want one. I know next to nothing about EMUI. I've only had Samsungs up till now and always used Nova launcher quite happily. If I put that on the P30 Pro, will I have what I am used to: a desktop with a few apps and folders and access to an app drawer with all my apps?
Yep.
That's how I have both my phones set up with Nova Prime, works fine.
