Black and white photos/videos except one object or colour - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Hey guys, how to shoot/take video of scene where everything is black except one object or one colour?

try AI colour Mode

I don't know if this is what you mean but one way to achieve such effect is to take picture in aperture mode then view it and in the upper right corner of the picture there will be small lense icon, touch it and from the filter at the bottom pick mono filter which should desaturate the background.

Photo viewing

Just would like to confirm one thing:
After u took photo in landscape then view it through gallery again in landscape position, does d photo fill d whole screen? Or with both left and right side fill with black bar? I meant without zooming or whatever.....just view original.
Mine would view in landscape mode, but there're still 2 small black bars on sides. It's different than portrait mode.

Click to collapse
Is your photo taken in landscape format? If your photo is taken in portrait format and view in vertical position, u will see two black bar on top and bottom, am I right?
That's correct, I think because of the menu option is hidden away when you don't use it.
So, I guess it's normal and my phone is not having any problem ;-)

Blue dotted lines in camera mode....

Having very faint dotted blue lines in camera app only when really using high iso of around 1600. Manually set it lower and it goes. I can't see them when focusing on something bright but when say a black vest I took a picture of it was visible. Only to then move and disappear when zooming in.....Real strange. Also appears in gallery on the same images. The camera and video camera buttons have them too on high iso. Any body else have this or know what it is or thinks I have a faulty unit?

[q] background showing yellow instead of white when accessing camera

I noticed that when I am using the camera, eventhough the light is good but still the background shows yellow. I tried pointing to a white background and tried to capture that picture but I found that instead of white the background is becoming yellow. Is the camera not good or do I need to change any light effects for camera.I am using the Auto mode. Please help.
It's because Superior Mode. Use Manual settings and change White Balance.

Adjusting Brightness in camera app

Hi,
I find that the camera really underperforms when inside under artificial lighting - shots seem underexposed. Does anybody know a way of quickly and easily adjusting the brightness of a photo before taking it. For example on an iphone you can touch to focus and then slide the bar to the right of the focus area to adjust brightness.
When touching to focus on the p9 a small "sun" image appears next to the focus point but this disappears almost instantly - i'm not sure if this is meant to stick around for longer so that you can adjust the brightness?
I know that you can hold to focus and then manually adjust the metering point, however this isn't ideal when trying to take a quick photo.
Thanks
You can use the little "sun" icon to adjust exposure on the fly. I've heard somewhere that in certain firmware versions the icon disappears very quickly (just like the little "iris" icon in wide-aperture mode). Maybe pretending that it were there and sliding up and down right next to the focus ring (where the "sun" icon shows up) still works even though the icon already disappeared from your screen. Apart from that, there's an exposure slider in the "Pro" mode, but that's not as convenient as the little "sun" icon.

White dots on long exposure shots?

I took some pictures at night, and discovered some white white dots on them. Is that normal on 32sec exposure with ISO200? With more ISO there are a bit less white dots appears. Here's a sample, I added some brightness to it, so they are even more visible.

edit: I used secondary lens for this shot, with primary lens there are rarely a few.
its just sensor noise, cant do much about it. If possible take multiple photos and try to average them in photoshop
