Quite a few days ago I flashed the developer rom 9.4.25 to test the developer rom and it successfully flashed and I also installed the new twrp for pie devices and installed magisk also. But after that there were some problems like gps not showing exact location, contacts not showing etc. So I decided to flash a custom rom i.e Pixel Experience rom, but when I followed the necessary steps for flashing pixel rom, after installation, when I rebooted system, it automatically booted to fastboot. I tried several times to boot into system or recovery but the result was only fastboot, nothing but fastboot. Then I tried flashing the older versions of stable miui and then tried flashing the pixel rom but the result was same. Lastly, I flashed that same developer rom and now its still running on it but I want to run pixel rom on my device. The main problem is that I dont find any difficulty in flashing miui roms, but when I try to flash the custom roms like pixel experience, lineage or other aosp, treble roms, after installing that system.img file and then after reboot, automatically fastboot shows up and nothing else, cant go to any other screens except fastboot. What can I do?

Hello, I have a problem with my Xiaomi Redmi 4X phone, as I said, I can not flash any Custom ROM for Android 8.1 All this happened after I put my phone in service to replace the display on which I've broken it. Now any version of Android 8.1 I try to flash results in a bootloop. I have to mention 3 things
1. In TWRP when flashing I noticed that all Custom ROMs are stuck in "Flashing system files ..." for a few seconds after saying that it ended flash-but did not abssolut anything.
2. Now a few hours I accidentally flashed Pixel Experince, but now I have the same problem.
3. I can not flash any versions of TWRP.Not much but...
THIS IS HAPPENING ONLY ON THE ANDROID OREO ROMs, Nougat ROMs works perfectlly
Try to flash first latest version of twrp or you can flash redwolf recovery then flash firmware v40 then try clean flash for oreo roms
As mentioned by above user...(latest TWRP recovery and firmware is must)
Flash latest TWRP recovery, 3.2.1-0 should be fine but there's update available 3.2.2.-0 so any will do.
Next, flash latest firmware.
Clean flash is must when changing OS.
It's most likely you don't have latest TWRP recovery and firmware.
Do backup first.
Hi everyone,
I'm right now facing the issue that none of the flashed custom ROMs can boot.
I'm right now on MIUI 10.0.2.0, the bootloader is unlocked and TWRP was installed, but since I returned to the original global ROMs via XiaomiMiFlash Tool I think it's not on the decide anymore.
I tried to install Havoc and Pixel Experience.
What is the correct procedure to flashed the roms ?
I followed the instructions on the Havoc OS Thread for "Coming from MIUI 10.0.2.0". After installing the device kept boot looping and basically "flashing" the MI Logo with the "Unlocked" Label at the bottom.
Thank you for your time and help.
This could be a problem with your data partition and encryption. You need to full wipe your data (you loose all your sdcard data, so backup as much as possible) with twrp.
I used "Format Data" under "Wipe" in TWRP.
And I tried to run the decryption zip.
Same thing.

Try this:
1. Flash MIUI PIE 8.12.20 global Rom DON'T REBOOT
2. Flash Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt Here DON'T REBOOT
3. Wipe Data,System,Cache Your Data will be lost
4. Flash HavocRom + Gapps
5. Reboot and Enjoy
the link to the post is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8/development/prepare-t3841106
I followed that instructions and now I'm at least seeing the boot logo, but its stuck at the animation.
I left it for 1 hour and it's not booting...
What can I do ?
Edit: Figured out the missing step! Wasn't mentioned on any guide I read, or if it was, I'm afraid it wasn't clear :'( Hopefully this guide helps other people though, I've highlighted the step I added!
Hi Mi9 Forum!
Longtime S7 user here, I've flashed (literally) hundreds of roms over the years, but unfortunately lost my device so switched to a Mi9 (Which is ****ing huge!)
Earlier today, after the (arduous 1-week wait) I unlocked my phone (now reads unlocked on boot up), and set about testing three different roms.
From what I understood, I needed to flash a Vendor image before the actual rom itself, so I installed TWRP, flashed the vendor image, then tried flashing the ROM, but alas, I got kicked back to TWRP.
The steps I've taken a listed below, perhaps I've missed something obvious, or not so obvious, but any help would be appreciated!
UNLOCKING
Unlocked phone with Mi tool (Reads unlocked on bootscreen now)
Booted into Fastbook (Vol down + Power)
Plugged in
Used MinimalADB to push TWRP (3.3.1.42) onto my device
Unplugged and rebooted (Vol up + Power)
Plugged back in and entered into TWRP (Huzzah!)
Pushed two files into my "/tmp/" folder, these were xiaomi.eu_multi_MI9_V11.0.2.0.QFACNXM_v11-10.zip, and Magisk (V20)
Went to Wipe > Format Data > "Yes"
Back to TWRP Home, went to Install, and installed the xiaomi.eu mentioned above, then installed Magisk
Once both were done, I restarted, phone loaded up perfectly fine, and had Magisk installed
It was at this point I decided to try a custom rom:
CUSTOM ROM
Booted into TWRP
[*]Selected to Wipe > Format Data > "Yes"
I wiped System, Vendor, Data, Cache, and Dalvik
Pushed the Vendor 9.8.1 file into my "/tmp/" folder, along with whatever ROM I was testing (Tried with Syberia project, AOSPExtended, and ResurrectionRemix), GAPPS, and Magisk
Flashed the Vendor file
Flashed the ROM
Flashed GAPPS (Where it wasn't included with whatever ROM I was testing)
Flashed Magisk (This began giving me ERROR-1 here, even though it was exactly the same file that worked fine earlier.)
Once all that was done, I restarted the phone, it booted up fine, I saw the "Mi" bootscreen along with the "unlocked" at the bottom...Then the phone restarted.
It went to the same bootscreen once more, before restarting once again, and kicking me into TWRP.
I've tried it several times now, with different roms, both with/without installing GAPPS/Magisk, but I always get the same result.
I've been on these forums for a while, I know usually people post without reading, but that's not what I've done, I've read up on what to do, downloaded all the necessary (I think!) files ahead of time, and documented everything I did (in-case of a cockup!). So yes, I really have tried, and I really have searched
Any help, or direction, or hints, or magic wishes anybody can give me regarding this would be much appreciated!
same problem happened to me
i face the same problem every time without any solution i can only flash miui roms not aosp roms?

Using the above steps, I have been able to flash AOSP, and Miui roms.
Though I always go back to Miui because it has the best camera app.
The issue I have is that I am unable to install any custom rom in the phone, I am only able to correctly install xiaomi.eu roms and also miui global roms using fastboot method. Any custom rom I try, like Pixel Experience, but also many others, the phone will boot loop. Tried android 10 and android 9 roms, also tried to flash roms coming from an older global miui rom, just like one tutorial recomended to do, but still nothing. In TWRP there are no errors, rom seems to install correctly, but when I reboot the phone it will boot loop.
Another weird issue is that only some versions of TWRP will install on my phone, right now I am using Orangefox 10.0.3, version 10.0.4 just won't install, I flash it but nothing happens. TWRP versions from mauronofrio won't install for some unknown reason.
I'm at a loss really as to what is happening.

1. Try the latest OrangeFox beta - https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8/development/official-orangefox-recovery-project-t4039531
2. If you have any issues with it, then report (with logs) in the OrangeFox thread.
Hi
A few months ago I was able to flash on angelica lineage-17.1-20210326-UNOFFICIAL-angelica.zip and this worked well. Yesterday I tried to flash the s same image again and after several attempts I get a black backlit screen when lineage is meant to start. I reflash stock _V12.0.10.0.QCRMIXM then a recovery - PBRP 3.0.1. From there I was having issue
What is the flashing process for an unlocked device that has something like TWRP/Pitch Back/Orange Fox installed?
I guess once you unlock and can flash the recover you use the recover to flash the zip, then reboot and flash magisk.zip and everything should work? Or is there some step missing.
I had this problem too with the google pixel 7 pro. Can't help ya there on that one. I even tried re installing older firmware and it still didn't work. Maybe the bootloader is permanetly downgradable but the firmware of the stock is. Just a guess. Lineage os 20 is an unofficial build at the moment that receives hardly any updates.
