How much?
The phone is out now month but no custom rom or full working twrp (china twrp is the best working). I think whene you need custom rom go to Oneplus. Good dev support. Xiaomi have no dev support. There is also gsi rom but gsi is not good and i dont like this roms.

I used Oneplus 6T , but Oneplus 7 Pro is overpriced. I usually switch phones between 500~600$ every 6month. So I think Oneplus 7 Pro is a no go for me,
Apparently qualcomm only just released the source code for SD 855, on CAF. Without the source code, no real development, unless it's GSI or xiaomi firmware based.... If oneplus had released a phone months ago with the SD 855, it probably wouldn't have been much different, apart from oneplus stock firmware being much better to begin with
I still remember when I got my oneplus 6 it took a good while for the first aosp rom came out, before that modded oxygen OS only and mods etc, so I think we need to be patient, cheers

Oneplus 7 vanilla is cheaper but I doubt that will sell way less than mi9. Devs wont be making custom roms there. Whoever used 6T including me wont be getting op7 its the phone with bttr chip.

+1 :good:
Give it time and you'll see custom roms. For now, you can use GSI or MIUI. GSI is pretty good with working Fingerprint even. Personally using AOSiP GSI and it's good for what I do.
Randomblame is working on something let's see and wait for it.
Yes just bought Mi9. Looking for pixel rom too
Sorry for stupid question, I'm just move from WindowsPhone, but can somebody explain why Pixel rom? In a few months will be here Android Q, so if I flash beta Q now, will be the differences between Pixel and Mi9 after final Q version?
Thanks

I'll try to make it simple.
Android system has many versions, these are incremental. From Android 1 to Android 9, and Android 10 in beta right now.
Each Android version has a name :
Android 6 = Android Marshmallow = Android M
Android 7 = Android Nougat = Android N
Android 8 = Android Oreo = Android O
Android 9 = Android Pie = Android P
Android 10 = Android Q???? = Android Q
These are the original systems made by Google.
It's like Windows 95, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 10.
Now the beauty of Android is that anyone can customise the base/original system to whatever he wants. That is what big companies like Samsung is doing, or Xiaomi (MIUI) or OnePlus(OxygenOS) etc!
And there are smaller developer teams that build their own to the community, one of them is Pixel ROM.
Pixel ROM is available for Android O, Android P, etc depending on the phone model and what the team wants to build. Of course there are other custom ROM, many great and Pixel ROM is one of them.
Differences between Android Q and Android P? There will be, but Q is still in beta.
When Android Q will be out, I'm pretty sure there will be Pixel ROM Android Q. Right now it's Pixel ROM Android P.
However, Pixel ROM is not available for Mi 9 yet! That's why people ask for it. It's not easy though, you need developers, they need to own the phone, and Xiaomi needs to share the source !
Ok, thank you, it's clear now. My misunderstanding was that I thought, that Pixel is name of phone and not a name for custom ROM.

Actually you are not that wrong. The Google Pixel phones have a ROM called "Pixel ROM". And the goal of "custom Pixel ROM" is to be like "Google Pixel ROM" + bonus!

What?, not yet,, just stay 8.0 if you want oos,,
Um what? OOS 8.1/5.1 will only be released when OnePlus does it. There are no OOS 5.1 "based" ROMs as of yet. No one can make a OOS 5.1 OTA other than OnePlus.
FreedomOS/theOne3TOS, they're all just modified OOS OTAs with Add-ons. Nothing else. Their Android system isn't modified, just with Add-ons, like Root/Equalizers/Magisk Modules and so on. These aren't ROMs per sé, just fitted with an Aroma Installer to select add-ons and for easier installation.
All in all, don't keep hope on OnePlus releasing Android 8.1 for the 3/3T. They promised N for the 2, and it never happened. .

The OnePlus 2 was, is and will be the unwanted child.
But that's an other discussion.

It was a failure yes, but there are still users who bought it and most of them do not know about Custom ROMS. They should keep the customers happy, not looking at the device status.
I honestly don't have any hope that the 3/3T will see the light of 8.1/5.1

Redmi note 4 and 5 series got a port of Oxygen OS based on treble from OnePlus 5/5T and it works great...
Any chance we get similar ports which could ensure latest firmware ports for our devices too?
If any developer can please look into it... our devices might be able to sustain longer with the latest snappy and better than stock android Oxygen OS!
Thanks in advance. Cheers?

OnePlus announced a while ago that our device should get Android P while skipping Android 8.1, maybe bringing with it a Treble-ized OxygenOS, but since, no news.

I m not talking about the official support cus it seems that it will take a lot of time as it is taking time for even 5/5T.
I m talking about the community ports like how the OnePlus 6 got the 6T stock ROM ported.
i believe its the only device that hasnt got ports of successor (5,5t or 6, 6t) Wonder when they are coming.
i always wondered like there were samsung ports why not latest oxygen ports for older devices and today I see a youtube video for oxygen os on the oye 5 pro with 4500 downloads
come on oneplus 3 community we can port latest oxygen os

Let's ask our developers to give it a try. I m sure there might be something they could do... i ll be ready to opt in for testing alpha beta phases.
However, there is Freedom OS that tries to mimic (not sure if that is ported) Oxygen OS but that is still stuck on 8.0 Nougat.

As much as i would love to, unfortunately i m not a developer mate . Just want a good support from all of u guys for this thread so that our developers hear our voices to try out porting, if possible.
are developers interested in building android 10 roms for mi 5 or its time for me to buy a new phone?
Phh AOSP android 10 treble rom is already released. Pixel experience android 10 beta is already out. It's still pretty new, give them some time, there's gonna be plenty.

Thanks for your reply,
I couldn't find pixel experience android 10 rom for mi5 and the los17 gemini repository in github is inactive
Unofficial los 17 rom for mi5 is here

Ya, LOS is there I can see. No thread for PE-10 yet. I've found that on several Mi5 channels on telegram. Monstermite made a youtube video as well, you can check. May be we're gonna get some other Android-10 based roms for our almost 4 years old device in upcoming days..which is pretty cool I guess.

It's because still new? or the Developers look at the user is still too few?
Anybody could answer this? Thank you
There's custom ROMs coming, hopefully soon.
There's a few factors for why none is out now but main reason is that the device is still pretty new and has official Android 12 coming which would cause a lot of additional work to do if the ROM developer started with Android 11.

If you had looked on the first page of the 11T pro thread, you would have seen Xiaomi Eu and an AOSPA rom Alpha version.

GSI roms has started some had tried, i m planning to try Pixel exp on 11tpro
Which is the best in performance, battery, stability for the Redmi Note 10 pro? 12, 12L or 13?
I come from Miui and wanted to try AOSP roms, what do you advise me?
I seek balance between performance and customization.
I wanted to know advantages and disadvantages of each one.
Thanks in advance.

Android 13 is pretty good, though I like 12/12L because of MIUI cam being ported to those ROMs
Personnaly, I'm always looking to the future. That's why I prefer use Android 13.
I used crDroid 8 (A12) for months as daily driver and it was working fine, except mic problems in the beginning.
Since no A13 version of crDroid is announced to date or in development and I wanted to migrate to A13, I searched something else.
I’m now using ProjectElixir 3.2 (Android 13) as daily driver.
Why ?
It's the third rom A13 I found on XDA with Arrows and Evolution a few time after the last Google’s release.
I installed and tested those 3 roms and I decided to remain using ProjectElixir.
It's just a question of personal taste.
In any case I will not come back to A12 because each new version of Android contains novelties.
And further I will not spend time trying all existing roms.
My phone is the Redmi Note 10 Pro.

Unless you have big requirements (if you don't have a camera, ...), Gcam is enough for me.
