I've been researching this phone and I really like it so far, but I have a question about the battery.
I've read about the battery lasting something like 9 hours or so.. now my question is that 9 hours while constantly in use?
For example if I leave my house at 3:00 PM with a full charge hang out with my friends, end up at a bar at night, and I maybe talk for 20 minutes, send 5 txt messages and barely mess with the phone, will the phone dying around Midnight?
With that type of light usage it can last a day or even two deopending on how you config. & the radio you use.
The +or- 6-8 hours is with wifi, BT, 3g data usage, gps, etc...
I make it about half the day(5-6 hours), but I've got AgileMobile running all day using 3G connection so I'm assuming I'm running normally. This is greatly improved by switching off 3G(adds another 2-3 hours). I put maybe 15-30 minutes of calls on my phone a day, it's mostly a mobile web browser and instant messenger.
To get through a full day for me I charge the phone in my jeep while driving to / from work, and most days I eat lunch out so I charge it then as well.
Thanks for the replies. I will probably have all data connections turned off, and won't run GPS on days like that.
I really dig this phone, I just got a little worried about the chance that I won't go home after some heavy drinking and won't have a phone to use in the morning...
Also, I just read on a website review from Laptopmag.com that said "We left a fully charged Tilt on over a long weekend, and when we returned, the unit still had three out of four bars of battery life"... What do you think?
Well I think if you upgrade to wm6.1, you should gt alot better battery life.
I was sick (in bed most of the day) yesterday so I took my phone off charge at about 7am in the morning.
I sent some messages, surfed the internet with hsdpa for about 3 hours (and this is in a bad signal area, which means more battery consumption)
then did some wifi (20mins)
and a bluetooth recieve or two.
I just checked the battery level this morning (8am) and I still had 57% left. I was abit surprised because I thought it will have drained by now like it did with wm6. The point is wm6.1 has a lot better battery life. So for maxumum battery life you should upgrade.
Just my 2 cents
Battery life...
Hi I have had the kaiser for not long really... there's a neat program that tells you what is the drain, of the battery...
well if you are not touching it and not doing anything it drains about 6-10ma, so based on that yes, it can last for a looooooooong time, now when you call it goes to 200-400ma, so yes it drains more battery there. ( as you would think it would )
then again you can have the backlight to low, to use less battery, also, turn the screen off when not using it, and change the radio an a lot of hacks.
based on my experience using EDGE, the GPS, the screen, playing a game, sending some mms, and talking, it can really kill your battery in no time.
but you can also well get a car charger ( be carefull with those ) or a better battery, because to be realistic the one that comes default really sucks...
I have seen people talking about a 3000mah battery so that could really drive the phone for a loooooooong time, better think about other issues, like how sucky the camera is... ( maybe with the video drivers we are wating for this will get fixed ), also well, sometimes the performance is not that good, ( also video drivers I think ), besides that, and if you don't mind like I do, to have to wait for a few seconds to get things going on, the phone is a real jewel, if you live life in the fast lane, well maybe that second to open the keyboard will kill you
TC !

which one do u recommend? also where can u find this battery?
thanks
^^
Seidio 1650 battery and the Mugen 1500 batteries seem to be good oem size batteries from I have read. THere is a thread on the Kaiser Accessories board about batteries.......
I had a similar experience with excessive current consumption in standby, likely caused by the GPS though it is off (see Post "TyTN II / Kaiser issue: GPS & battery drain").
Perhaps you should install "BatteryStatus". Make yourself familiar with the battery current display, and try to figure out how much power your device draws.
Another nice test is, switch all units off (phone, WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS, really everything). Make sure no program is running (TaskManager). Leave the fully charged phone alone for 5 hours or so. Recheck the battery capacity whether it dropped more than very few percent. If you do not need GPS frequently, you may simply try a soft reset. If you have interesting results, please be so kind and add them to the abovementioned thread, too.

Right seriously what is up with the battery life on this phone. My phone goes off charge about 6:30, listen to music on the bus from like 07:15 - 9:00 and then use it generally throughout the day, checking facebook/twitter, upload 1 or two pictures, record a 3 min or so video (im mostly on the college wifi during the day) and by around 3pm my phone is dead. I am running 10F, deodexed, rooted, juice defender ultimate and hardly any stock apps running on it other than what is needed. The battery life is generally unacceptable. Just listening to music using Sony Walkman Player for like 1hour and half drops the battery by like 30%. The battery drops 2-3% every time i reload my news feed .etc. Something really is not right and im stumped? I turn power saving mode on at around 50%, my brightness is at 30% during the day, bluetooth off, wifi on at college since there is very little phone signal and other stuff.
What can i do? Posting the battery stats in a min or two. (No point posting, my phone keeps rebooting every time i try to get into it. [Not enough charge], basically its like a solid decline with the longest bars being Phone Idle and Display)
is your wifi policy on sleep set to always? this phone has a little bug on wifi policy when the phone is locked. I have made several test and the 4X doesnt have a good PS-Poll implemented.
If you make some ping test, you will see that it never enters a low state wifi when policy is set to always.
i recomend you to set the policy to "only when chaged", it will improve a lot, believe me, i have a LOT of tests done. This is not the only improvement for the battery but helps a lot, the other guys can help you with other tips =)

Thanks for your help, il look at that in a bit. However what i forgot to mention is that I turn the WiFi off when Im not using it. It automatically connects to the wifi for me, so when im putting my phone in my pocket or whatever I always turn it off, so I dont really think this will help me much. Worth a try though anyway . What im going to do is try 10H (I did before but didnt notice much different) competely stock, no root.etc and see how that fares tommorow
I actually find 10H to be even worse on battery. I was running 10E before updating mine to the latest, and I was experiencing much better battery with 10E.
See, this is the issue hahha Some people say 10E has better battery, 10F has better, 10C has better I really do not know what to go with. Didn't 10F stop the heat issues when playing games and would this be present in 10E? What sort of battery are you getting on 10E?

Its not the version that gives better battery to the phone, its the owner
Instead of threads like "battery use over v10f/h/y" people should put "battery stats with user RuedasLocas; monkeyLocas; etc...Locas"
But please, don't!!! Or we'll end up with the forum worst than it is, a complete mess
Hi All,
My rage is at an all time high, I seem to suffer from mental battery drain on 3g,/lte. It's not even when I'm using the phone, for example, this morning, train journey in I lost 7% battery in one hour. The phone was sat happily in my pocket doing nothing.
I have google now turned on, facebook with messenger various things syncing, but surely even if thats the case that still seems really high to me,
Anyone got any good advice ...
If it's only on 3g that would suggest something is causing wakelocks by synching/pushing. Install Better Battery Stats, run it for a few days and then check the results. They are pretty easy to understand but you can always screencap them and post them here if you want some help. Just be sure to do it in this thread, no point in making another one.

I love the performance of my L90 but I would like to know how the performance is in another L90...
Would greatly appreciate your Screenshoots.
How do you manage such great battery life? That is one of the issues I am having with this phone...
I am running everything at Stock though, but using apps like Spotify for an hour drains my battery from 100% to 90%, and doing simple web browsing, email and texting drains it further. Majority of the times, I am on Wi-Fi, but when I am on 4G it is worse. Would love to know how you manage such great battery life. Hell, I deleted the Facebook and Facebook Messenger app thinking it may improve battery life, which is not the case
Here's mine, modified stock I'm constantly messing with it and use gps with the screen off a lot. Screen stays at minimal brightness for the conditions
Wait, WHAT!?
Haha, My screen's brightness is always at the lowest! Can you guys please share how you guys achieve such great battery life?

Can you expand on that? I deleted majority of the crap and my phone's battery life is still bad.
Do you use apps like facebook, snapchat, instagram, twitter, etc...? If you do, how do you resolve issues with those apps and battery life? I deleted Facebook and Messenger and instead created a shortcut to the facebook.com URL as both messenger and the facebook app drained my battery very quickly.
Additionally, what do you use to maintain a speedy phone? My phone does tend to slow down, where I have to restart the phone (even though only half of the RAM is being used).

You could try Greenify, which suspends certain apps (you can select the ones you want). Also, try disabling unnecessary apps and their notifications. Occasionally cleaning up your phone with Clean Master or the likes is helpful as well. Not having many apps is another way to go.

I tried both apps, but apparently after I "optimize" all the apps that were previously hogging RAM and such come back active.
When you mention not having many apps "is another way to go", what do you mean by that? Personally, I rely my phone on some quick social media stuff (Snapchat, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook[I now use facebook.com instead], WhatsApp, etc...). My phone is also my source of GPS, sadely, Google Maps is the only good (free) GPS application out there, I tried Sygic, but it is buggy, and quite frankly, being a college student I don't feel its worthwhile to spend $30 on a GPS software when I can just buy a normal TomTom GPS for another $15 thrown in (no hate of course )
Would love more light on this topic though, I love my phone, but would love to have a battery life that doesn't die out. Is there a way to do diagnostic tests that I can share with you guys to see where I can make improvements and what not?

Well, English isn't my native language, so forgive me if I caused any misunderstanding. What I meant was to try and reduce the amount of apps on your phone as much as you can. But if the apps you mention are pretty much what you use on a daily basis, another thing to do is try to identify the apps that might hog the battery the most. I've had similar issues, so I just went over all the apps that I had, uninstalled the least used ones and those that might suck up all the battery juice. In a worst case scenario, you could backup your data and do factory reset, installing only the apps you really need afterwards. In my experience, it all boiled down to certain apps. Some of them might run in the background nearly all the time, wasting precious battery life. So I'd suggest to go over all the apps you use and really pick out what you do and do not need. If the issues persist... Well... Battery's dying? LG does only give half a year of warranty for it, at least where I live.
Ah okay, thanks for the clarification! I'll look into seeing if the actual battery may be the issue in all of this, and seek a replacement if it becomes the case.
I appreciate your response!

Sorry man! I thought the battery life was almost the same in our l90. I just use cm11 by shinobisoft because the lg stock rom is so slow and it drains more my battery. I think that it depends on the usage of the device because the l90 has a great battery capacity for the hardware that depends on it; When i charge the battery into 100%, the first 10% almost take 1 screen hour. It is just a beautiful battery you just must know when to turn off some features, like the manual operation of wifi or bluetooth or gps. It is more efficient than using some apps that helps for better battery life. At least it works for me.

Also the closest i get to social media is xda so that should tell yiy my Facebook status. And the bloatware, i have nothing in my phone from the carrier and deleted that stupid anti virus that came with it. Stock Rom as a more pure android experience works wonders with little to no lag for me

See how often you have set for all those social media apps, email and messages to sync. Apps syncing/updating in the background and push notifications can cause hugh drains on your system. Consider turning off sysncing. Most apps sync on access anyway.

It sounds like in order to achieve such great battery life, you guys do not use many apps on your phone and turn off the ability to Sync and what not.

Actually yes, I use Battery Guru and Greenify (for non-root devices). Snapdragon Battery Guru learns and disables itself all the unneeded apps from real-time sync, and that's actually awesome. I'm having real-time sync for Whatsapp, Corporate Mail etc. (don't use Facebook too much, so it's greenified). However, even with 1-2 hours a day listening to music, about 1 hour daily phone use (reading news on Google NewsStand and some other sport apps), 30 min calls per day I've got the above result.
Very satisfied of the phone's battery life (after my Motorola Atrix 2, with which in similar conditions I was getting about a half battery autonomy)
Btw, a real battery economy is using Edge instead of 3G/LTE.
Interesting, I may have to look into that combination!

Cm11 Roms have better battery time, also u can change the mode to battery saver in toggles and get easily 24 hours, and put data in 2g, it saves a LOT of battery.
Hello, I have just a got an XT1254 for around a week so I am still testing the device. Battery is always my biggest concern for every phone I had and therefore I like droid turbo's big battery.
After I have got the device, I tried to debloat most of the moto/verizon/amazon apps and managed to get only 1%-2% drain during sleep overnight. I haven't installed many apps at this moment, as I am testing how long I can get with minimal usage for one charge. It is now more than 2.5 days after charge and I have 62% left, and I disabled almost all censors. and only turn on data/wireless only when necessary.
My problem is, I still get a, I think, quite fast battery drain when screen on. I am not watching video or playing games, I just use whatsapp or test camera, not even facebook, and I get 1% drain in 2-3 minutes. What I want to ask is, is this normal? Or is there anything I can do to reduce further? I think the screen eats most of the battery, and I used auto brightness, or manually to 10% brightness indoor, with dark wallpaper in launcher already.
I have no plan to root at this moment, but I think the processor speed can be lowered. Is there anything I can tweak about the processor?
Thank you very much for answering!

Thank you and I have tried to read the posts. The google play service doesn't seem to be the problem of my device. The drain during sleep is somewhat acceptable, and anyway I need to keep background data on for play service. My problem is, when screen on, it drains 1% in 2-3 minutes doing simple tasks like whatsapp and camera, and the brightness is already either auto or minimum. And my point is, given the huge battery and nothing serious being done, it still drains more than my previous phone (sony m2 also running kitkat 4.4.4)

You should take a look at the apps you have installed, besides this, I think the drain is pretty normal for a QHD screen. Remember there are great number of pixels to move in this screen, so the battery also suffers from this.

I attach a screen capture of my battery screen.
My phone is new and I haven't installed many things. Just nova launcher plus some widgets. BTW, may I ask whether phone idle contribute 25% of power is normal. Yes I mostly leave the phone standby and actually do not have real use except phone, sms and whatsapp.

I don't see anything wrong with the drain, all is perfectly normal. Phone idle is on top when you don't use the phone, so I think you have no problems at all.
