I´m using android phones since 2010, the first Android Version i started with was 1.6 Donut, and i´ve always had a custom rom running on all my phones, because i was missing features, performance sucked, etc ...
Now i think it´s time for a change ! Oxygen 9.5.4. really fits my needs, i don´t miss anything important, only a root based/magisk adblocker i used on omni (but i don´t wan´t to unlock the bootloader this time because widevine L1 would be gone )
I´ll change to the beta programm when it´s available to get early access to Android Q , but that´s it, no more custom ROMS for me this time .
Most things are achievable without root nowadays (Pixel Launcher with bridge, Youtube Vanced , etc) and i´m tired of daily /weekly flashing of custom ROMS and dealing with their bugs and not yet implemented functions ...
So, what is your opinion on that? Will you keep Oxygen or switch to your favourite custom ROM ? (When it´s available)
Think i might keep mine rooted+stock+substratum... But the stock android looks very good atm with LS customizations and a few other customizations + i like the pixel launcher where the searchbar gets these cool animations of what the google webpage has...

I will keep oxygen os I have the T-Mobile version of this phone but will switch to global oxygen os and flash the nolimits magisk rom
I'm looking forward to Renovate ICE rom. It's stock Oxygen OS but with a load of useful customisations and cosmetic theming options.
Yes you lose Widevine L1 but you get the best of OOS that you can't get on source built custom ROMS. It's a nice balance for me
The good thing about a bootloader unlocked device is choice.. can flash custom ROM anytime we want and change back to stock anytime also.. I'm actually quite ok with Oxygen OS as it is but can't help flashing custom ROMs when I see a good one up.. with OnePlus we have a choice but more and more manufacturers are making it very difficult for us to have that choice.. I've dumped S 10+ for that very reason and sticking with OnePlus stock for now
I'm going to keep a rooted stock rom, but will flash the global rom for faster updates once I get this bootloader unlocked.
That will all depend on whether we get fully functional FP reader for me. If we do then I think the phone will rock with a good custom rom in it.

That's why you should feed back testing info to the devs so they can fix them. They're not a massive corporation and they ain't getting paid to compile these roms.
Stock/root/substratum for a while I think. This is my first OnePlus device, want to play thoroughly first.

good point, as i remember there were some problems with some oneplus devices and FP reader !
i used omni rom on my oneplus 5t before and really loved it, but it took a lot of weekly builds until everything was implemented and working fine ... but then it was my favourite ROM
but for now i really will try to keep stock Oxy , i really like it and i´m tired of flashing and waiting for features ...
by the way, Arnova´s newest GCAM works fine on stock Oxy ... https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog414/
Once we see a Pixel Experience rom I'll be switching for sure.
I'm definitely keeping my phone stock. Once I'm able to unlock the bootloader, then I'm going to the Global version. With the 6T, custom ROMS was having issues with the fingerprint scanner until about two months ago.
I was a flashoholic from the Droid X all the way to the Nexus 6P days but since getting the OnePlus 5 and then the 6, they were the only phones I never felt the need to flash a custom Rom. I won't be likely work this either. I unlock, TWRP, custom kernel and root the instant I get my phones but that's all I need anymore. OOS is more than fine
OxygenOS is great I have stayed on OxygenOS since oneplus 3
I will eventually flash a custom ROM ??
Im also surprised of how well OxygenOS is working and fits needs. Nevertheless I will try and use custom Roms. Just hope they run on 90 hz and the scanner works and also the selfie cam, otherwise I will stick to OOS.
One more who stays on OOS here, mainly because of immersive gestures support (even android Q still has his ugly navbar). But I rooted it on the second day, second because thought having L1 is kinda nice, but after discovering that even with L1 NETFLIX only outputs 720p I decided to unlock, magisk it and install adaway.
Waiting for pixel experience
I had a lot of problems caused by root on my current SGS9+
- not working Google Pay (had to do weird things to get it working)
- some banking apps displaying root warning and won't work or won't let me login by fingerprint
- lost some of the best Samsung features: Secure Folder for example
All I wanted root for was to remove bloatware...since OnePlus don't have much bloatware I only need AdBlock...for adblock I found 2 nice methods:
- https://blokada.org/
For YouTube ads we have Vanced thing and I love it so...overall I don't think I will root my next device (which will be OP7Pro in a few days )
I will most likely keep OOS as well, it's been good to me and the first time I have ever remained on stock was starting with my 6T.
I just wish substratum overlays would show without having to reboot. Other than that, I have no issues with stock.
staying with oxygen as usual; it's very nice

hey guys at present I'm using my a2 On Official Android One Rom With Bootloader unlock (camera2api) Enabled. Some Users Say that Android one rom is laggy And lot's of bugs. So I want You To suggest Me What Should I Do? Install A Costom rom On my device like (Pe or something else) Or Stay With Android One?
I recommend Pixel Experience CAF version. I'm currently using that since I got fed up with Android One updates. I have been on custom ROMs for quite some time actually. CAF version supports OTA so you don't have to flash it again with every update, camera2api is already enabled and there is a MIUI camera included, but you'll have to find a working GCam yourself though. I haven't actually experienced any bugs for now but people say there are few and those will be fixed in the next update.
Edit: Just to add a few reasons why I am against Android One since you wrote that some users reported issues with stock but not you yourself.
It all started with the September update(if I recall correctly, or maybe even earlier). The bug present in that update made the faster CPU cores lock up at maximum frequency if the fingerprint sensor is used which drained battery really quickly. It took them like 1-2 months to fix that one. Then came Pie update, a lot of stuff stopped working. The storage for some reason got really slow and clearing large app cache(especially Chrome cache) would freeze the device or even make it reboot. This is the issue they STILL haven't fixed.
With January 2019 update a lot of devices went into bootlops and got bricked. February update changed contrast of the display and made everything really bright, definitely brighter than it should have been. Now they fixed that issue in March update BUT the update bootloped/bricked some more devices again so they pulled it. Their updates have really become a joke, which is why I'm all for custom ROMs. Definitely more stable than stock.

Can someone provide some guide how to do it?
Hello
I can't stand a phone without root, fortunately we have exynos models of s10/10+ here, though I see that only one rom is available for now, will more devs will cook roms and kernels later?
Also is it a pain to flash custom roms due to A/B slots like it's on 6t?
If we get an stable twrp the full world of GSI opens up.
For non samung roms (aosp) the chances for an S10 specific rom is close to zero..
I am confident twrp will be stable, all new phones get this first period where twrp is semi stable then gets fully loaded

can't wait anymoreeeeeee :crying::crying::crying::crying: LOL I preordered my S10 and it's here but I haven't used it properly so far, only at home and didn't even set it up fully... I neeeeeeeed twrp. root and xposed are available and daily useable.
Saw there is a new way of rooting the s10/10+.
But no new custom roms
when custom roms?
I think twrp needs more stability
I have the s10+ for a couple of days, I can live without rooting for now but the ads are a teal pain in the *** . As soon as the custom roms are rolling on s10+ it will give ne another reason to root
don't wanna sound rude but for what do you need twrp or custom rom .. just root it, install xposed and customize your phone ..
Hey guys!
I'm a very recent owner of Mi 9T Pro (less than 24h remaining until unlock becomes available). I'm also a recent consumer (if that's the right word for it) in the custom ROM scene. About a week ago I decided to check out LineageOS 16.0 on my old (Android 4.4.2) phone, and I was blown away by the performance improvement. It really gave my old device a second wind.
So when it comes to my new Mi 9T Pro, the long term strategy is almost certainly to install the official version of LineageOS 17.0 as soon as it becomes available (if at all and boy do I hope it does). However, since the official release might be (as I understand) several months away, it leaves me with a time window to use some other ROM until then. I've checked out LineageOS 16, 17, HavocOS 2.8, 3.0 & Pixel Experience ROM threads in this forum. It appears they all have some or other issues.
And this is where I was hoping to get a suggestion from you guys. What I'm interested in is the most stable ROM currently available for this phone. To be more clear, I'll illustrate what I mean by "stable":
1) Novelty not required.
It doesn't have to be Android 10 necessarily. Stability > novelty.
2) Most commonly used features take precedence.
I would certainly prefer a lag-less UI and no issues with signal reception over working NFC and Bluetooth audio (all 4 issues seem to appear with some regularity in mentioned threads).
Well, that's basically it, I hope you get the gist of it. If not I'll be glad to clarify further.
Just to be clear, I'm really not looking for a perfect solution where there is none. Just the least painful one. MIUI is not an option.
Thank you!
P.S. Sorry if this is a dup. I only managed to find a handful of outdated questions (~2 months old) which had very little engagement to begin with.
I use crDroid 5.8 (5.9 build does not work with global fw &vendor) and all the android 10 ROMs besides LOS 17 have broken NFC and BT .. And los 17 is also not perfect. Slows down after a while. We just have to wait till every K20 Pro / Mi 9T Pro version gets stable MIUI 11. Right now android 10 is not daily drive ready.
I'm using Résurrection Remix with the same build for over 2 month (the last one), and i dont have any bug.
I'm dtarting to have some troubleshootings after 2-3 weeks and it only require to restart to get fixed.
Also i'm not a big user of the phone so at the end of the day there is 70% battery left!

First of all, thank you for your input!
But what about Android 9 based ROMs like LOS16, Havoc-OS 2.8, Pixel Experience etc.? Wouldn't they be more stable based on the fact that Android 9 was already out (for quite some time) when K20 Pro was released? And also because the developers have simply had more time to iron out the issues?

I have basically tried every rom there is on this forum, and multiple vendors, roms later, i can suggest that EvolutionX, Pixel experience plus (pie are both pretty stable. But they have minor issues. Definitely daily driver material.
But! in my suggestion, if you could stick to a debloated MIUI. It would be hassle free.
Pros for using the stock rom.
Fingerprint sensor works faster
Doesn't break safetynet, so.. google pay support.
widevine L1 in other cases.
And most importantly, the camera functionality doesnt break

Follow the steps in the Removing Bloatwares in Locked/Unlocked Bootloader part of the first post in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/how-to/redmi-k20-pro-firmware-10-3-8-0-9-6-13-t3939647
True, MIUI has way faster and better fingerprint recognition than all custom roms. Sadly I hate MIUI look and feel...
If you want to give MIUI a try, install the xiaomi eu ROM, which is pretty clean and without much preinstalled stuff.
Best is not to use the custom ROMs with ALL the features, since those ROMs are more laggy and buggy.
So if custom ROMs, try android 9 based. I will flash android 10 again only after 2-3 builds which use MIUI 11 firmware and vendor, since I do have a global K20 Pro/ Mi 9T Pro and don't want to lose DRM L1 or NFC by flashing IN or CN fw and vendor. Because most android 10 ROMs require MIUI 10 android 10 fw and vendor (and there is no global MIUI 10 android 10 fw & vendor)
So depends after all, how much you hate MIUI.
I flashed a custom ROM because of the following things
clean stock UI
no gapps
better everyday performance

Whats your choice ROM/Kernel/Mod combination for OP7T Pro?
After almost two years, and although we don't have a 100% functional TWRP, we have a good range of ROM's and Kernel available even on Android 11. What do you currently use? What is your favorite ROM and Kernel combination?
Have only had the phone for just under a year. I came from OP3 to a 7T Pro (HD1910) about a year ago and haven't gone into a flashing frenzy yet. Currently running Stock OOS 10.0.14 with Arter Kernel, Magisk and Renovate ICE.
Was running OOS 11.0.0.2 with blu spark. While I did not run into many of the issues that a lot of users have faced (seems concentrated on 7T devices), my two main complaints were battery life (I lost about an hour of SOT on A11 vs A10) and the phone overall felt a little sluggish so I ended up downgrading back to A10 with MSM.
tried many roms but always get back to RR. You can do almost anything with this rom, customisation is insane. Only drawback for me were sound of dolby like on stock oos and natural mode in display settings. this rom is by far most complete and stable othan any other rom I ever used on all my previous phones.

Well, I decided to give Custom ROMs a try so I just flashed Pixel Experience. I solely blame you for opening this door (LOL; well, showing me the door). Will report back after I give it a couple of weeks of use.
I just flashed latest DerpFest plus Dora kernel. Working well for now.
For me, the flash process is very time-consuming without a working twrp.
I last tested a few roms 4-5 months ago (RR, crdroid, havoc) but some things never really worked well, for example the vibrations are too strong, the auto brightness doesn't work, sometimes the phone connection dropped for no reason or WhatsApp voice messages sometimes had sound dropouts. I didn't like that at the time and stayed with OOS.
Is there currently a Rom that really runs smoothly? I need the device as a daily driver. I've been itching to flash a new version, but the disappointment that something doesn't work puts me off.

Haven't used OOS in a year so can't tell.
Battery life seems decent, but I haven't done a full charge test. And i think my battery had degraded quite a bit from charging a lot.
Went from OOS11 to PE+ back to OOS10 to OOS11 back to PE+ to OOS10 to dotOS back to OOS10 and now back on dotOS. Since my last post.
Gonna stick with dotOS for a bit.
It seems like if you want good battery life, you should stick to Android 10. All custom 11 ROMs and OOS11 for that matter can't compete with A10/OOS10 battery.
i have tried few roms but ended up with rooted/stock
i think its the best
though last time i 'm back to stock 2 days ago (was on los 18.1) then stock 10 using downgrade file 2 times then root
and finally go to oos 11 wiping every thing with clean net install
No battery issue so far no lags no negative things @All
on my opinion STOCK IS THE BEST (ROOTED)

I can't find a custom ROM that is as good as OOS for DT2S, single tap to ambient display, and gesture navigation.
Anyone running any debloats here? If yes, which one(s)?
if anyone wants rock stable custom rom, go for RR! it's a10 of course but none of the a11 custom roms come close in terms of stability and customisation. I running it with nemo v4 kernel and smoothness and battery life are improved even more! I like oos 11 but little bugs like low notification volume are bugging me. I think yaap, dotos, paranoid a11 based are good but have few things to fix like autobrightness, paranoid was smoothest rom I ever seen but camera is causing issues if you want other cam than one that is included in the rom. hope soon we will have more stable and daily driver custom roms...
still on oos 11 and stock kernal. i Dont think rom development is where I want it to be I wouldnt switch again. I think it's at its dieing stages. no updates for stock either yet we pay big money. I am over mobile phones what a rort market
Greetings.
I just got my Redmi Note 11 and want to flash a custom ROM on it. This is my first time flashing a custom ROM.
My main requirement in custom ROMs is to keeping the stock Pixel experience, stability, stable update frequency, though a large range of customisability features would never hurt.
After some research I think I stopped on two options: Pixel Experience and Evolution X. I would like to read your opinions and preferences between these two ROMs. What differences do they have in the following topics?:
Stability
Customisability (especially PE+ vs EvoX)
Performance
Also, Pixel Experience is supposed to give us features that are present on Pixel phones, so what Pixel features does it have that Evolution X doesn't?
P.S. Sorry for my English.
If you're gonna unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery anyway, you should probably check both ROMs out. You can create a backup of the first one you've installed and can always recover it if you don't like the other ROM.

Thanks for your opinion. I think I'll flash Pixel Experience (Normal edition) and if I notice any problems or lack of features that Evolution X has I'll migrate to Evolution X. But still I'd like to hear everyone's opinion.
Evo X
Pros:
- More customization options (See Evo X ROM for RN11 reviews on YT for more info)
Cons:
- Allegedly reported that head dev of the ROM (Hoey) adds bugs each update (A redditor pointed this out to me)
- OTA updates may not work properly if flashed via TWRP, not sure if you can get updates to work if flashed via other recoveries
Pixel Exp
Pros:
- Ability to hide navbar
- OTA works perfectly (If flashed via Pixel Exp recovery and not TWRP)
- Some features ported from MIUI ROM
Cons:
- Less customization options
note: everything is based on what I know, haven't flashed either ROM as I am still waiting for the 1 week wait time to end to unlock. I do prefer PE over Evo X
What Schumuppes pointed out is the most viable way, for you to decide for which ROM you prefer and suits you better

note: everything is based on what I know, haven't flashed either ROM as I am still waiting for the 1 week wait time to end to unlock. I do prefer PE over Evo X
What Schumuppes pointed out is the most viable way, for you to decide for which ROM you prefer and suits you better

Thank you. I'm also waiting to unlock the bootloader. For now I'm mostly worried about the update frequency. As both Evolution X and Pixel Experience ROMs are maintained by volunteers I'm afraid that updates may be late. Don't get me wrong, I don't blame them and both of the maintainers seem to do their job well but this feeling doesn't leave me.
What about other differences other than more customisation options in the settings? Like I know that Evolution X uses a modded version of Pixel Launcher and Camera Go as the camera while Pixel Experience uses Basic Camera. Any other differences?
Pixel exp is more stable. Evo ex have more features but also more bugs, in my experience both of them have some issue like frames drop in almost all social apps etc…. For now, I'm back in MIUI because it's the most stable for me. But try for yourself, maybe you have a different experience.

Thanks again for the reply. It's funny how depending on who do I ask I get different replies. Someone says Pixel Experience is more stable, another one says the opposite.
What do you think about PixelPlusUI? Because another one said most games are laggy on Evolution X.

evo x rom is a mystery box, it nails some function but lags in others. basic function such as calling ( forget vowifi and video calling , just normal calling) don't work well. After every update some weird bugs come up which are simply annoying. BB is decent and won't expect more than that (though i've experienced better in crdroid ig).
here's my suggestion:
for 4/64 variant : don't install any custom rom for now as they are just coming up rn, if you want you can try those roms without gapps. i hope with time roms will become more stable and suitable for your usage.
for 6/128 variant : sky is the limit, use any roms according for your preference. crdroid is more stable and with lesser bugs in every update. evo x is more pixel like, overall works well except the issues mentioned above. pixel experience: stock experience w/ some miui goodies.
btw i am on latest version of evox rom. hope this helps.
cheers!

First, u need to download fastboot build version for your phone from this site, Site Link
then just install Mi flash tool Mi tool Link here, a video explaining how to use it Link
note : when flashing there 3 option
1- clean all -
2- save user data
3- clean and lock
I will advise u to not chose the last one because it will lock bootloader and then u will have to do all unlocking steps again, so the best option to use is the first 1
Thank you. One last question please

Hello i tried both of them on my SPESN and for me PE is way more stable, even if a lot of bugs and lags still present i’m pretty sure that will be resolved in futures updates
