Hey guys!
I would like to adjust the brightness of the always on display - is there a way to do this without using another app for that?
It is too bright imo when you tirn off the lights in your bedroom
Same, it's kinda bright.

HTC's website says the HD7 has an "Ambient light sensor".
When I have the Brightness settings on "Automatically adjust", I do not see any changes to the screen brightness. Darkness and sunlight have no effect. Curious to know if others are having the same problem or if my phone is faulty.
Thanks
If I set mine to Automatically Adjust on either low/medium or high settings it does adjust according to ambient lighting.
Have tested by holding up to a light bulb on all 3 settings and have noticed the changes.
Thanks for your reply.
A bit more experimenting with a LED torch and it does seem to be working. The curve is not as I would like though. I would prefer the screen darker in darkness and brighter in the light much like my old iPhone. I was in full sun today and the screen still wasn’t full brightness. So with it on High and Auto off, the screen was brighter than when on High and Auto on. So Auto was bringing my brightness down to what seemed to be about medium levels making the screen a bit of a pain to see. I want full brightness in sunlight please. I am sure others will prefer this default setting though, especially those concerned about battery life. Hopefully a future software tweak will allow sensitivity and brightness curve adjustments. Until then, I will stick with the "high" setting and Auto off.
Thanks again.
Have same problem.. Automatic light have no effect on my HTC HD7 (unbranded, with and without nodo).
I totally agree, with me its more of a problem in the darkness. It is way too high when it is completely dark and its more obvious when I switch it from auto to "low" as the screen does become much darker.
Its something with either HTC or windows as my old touch pro 2 had the same problem, in complete darkness the screen would never go lower than 30%...
The light sensor on my hd7 never seems to work..they should implement the way it is on the iphone
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Is anybody know is there light sensor available physical on HD7?
Heared on HD2 it work's fine. If it software issue then MS mast fix it.
yea my phones ambient light sensor doesnt work either i see no changes with the auto setting on.
Auto-Brightness works fine over over here - o2 debranded with NoDo update.
When i take the phone out of my pocket/case in sunlight, i notice about 2 - 3 seconds after I unlock it, it gets noticeably brighter and when comparing to "high" brightness without auto it's exactly the saem. Agreed though i would like it to be dimmer in complete darkness (in bed, for example).
I am curious if there is a registry entry that I can change to help with the highest and lowest settings. If I turn on auto it does adjust it slightly when I am inside, but when I am in the sunlight I can hardly see anything. If there is no light also it is still what looks like a medium setting making it very bright. I hope we can figure this out, it isn't a big deal but still BTW I am on TMOUS with NODO
Hi all!
I know this isnt that big a deal, but the capacitive backlights look weak and dim.
Screen brightness setting doesnt increase these lights at all.
Im use to the really bright "white" lights from my older Galaxy I
Is there a way to adjust these to be brighter? Thanks!!
anyone have the same problem?
Mine are not super bright, but they are not too dim either. I would prefer to have them darker anyway due to how bright the ones on my Galaxy S 4g were at night.
Mine are the same way.. Very dim compared to my Skyrocket I had. My home button is actually a little dimmer than the other 3. It bothers me a little bit. Not sure if I should take it back for this. Other than that its flawless..Just got it today.. from AT&T corporate store in Daytona. But I think it was the only White one in stock..

Hi all,
I am using Wear Mini launcher where you can adjust the screen brightness with a slider. When set to minimum, the active brightness level is actually lower than the dimmed mode level.
How is this possible? Is there a way to set the dimmed brightness level? I am using a workaround where I use a custom watchface and have a big black circle over the watchface with opacity 50% when at dimmed, but notifications come over this and are shown at normal dimmed level.
anyone encountered this or knows how to set dimmed level?
Cheers!
Yes, brightness works only for active mode, not for dim mode
Some Watchface like this from Smartwatch Bureaux have 2 brightness setting for active et for dim mode.
Have the same problem, its the only reason why I have always on off
Sorry but, how do i activate dim mode? Can i always turn dim mode "on"?

Just updated my apps and the "Skymaster Pilot Watch Face" had a brightness setup in 6 level for dim mode. Level 1 is almost screen off (I'm using level 3), so very good. And choice for normal or minimal face in dim mode. With low brightness level we can keep color mode
Has anyone managed to get Adaptive Brightness to work on their Moto x? I have it switched on yet my phones brightness never seems to change even in near darkness or bright sun shine.
Found the answer here:

I'm glad you found the answer. I can definitely see the brightness change depending on the ambient light in the room, but it will stick to a more narrow "band" of brightnesses based on how you have the brightness set.
So I noticed that the screen isn't as bright as my Note 4 on high brightness , however when I have it set to auto and I'm outdoors it's night and day difference. It's much brighter under auto, even makes my note 4 (on high) seem like it's on medium brightness . Does anyone else notice this? Anyway to make it bright like this all the time? Because full manual brightness seems like medium brightness compared to other phones. A bit disappointed

That was already discussed in many reviews
Sent from my SM-G900F
Correct.
Manual brightness only goes to something like 450 brightness, but auto can go to 750.
No way to change that. Was mentioned in multiple reviews.
I was at the beach today and everytime I'd look at my screen it would start out really bright and then dim to like 90%. I wouldn't be able to get it bright until I locked it again. It was very annoying.
There is an issue with the auto bright on the Edge. Not sure if it is the same on plain S6 though.
There is? Mine seems to work as I would expect...
Yeah turn auto off and the phone will still dim in dark rooms and bright up if you shine a light into it. Also the Edge does not appear to be as bright at max as the standard S6.
