How difficult would it be to port an official Samsung Rom from a newer tablet (Tab 5e for instance) to the Tab S2? Are the necessary source files even available?

I have a question whether it is easy (by easy; I mean just copy and pasting files) to port a Galaxy S2 rom to a Galaxy Note. Since the devices internally really seem to be alike (for example the same soc (only different clock)). So does anyone have any experience with "porting" a Galaxy S2 rom to the Galaxy Note? Or any other kind of experience in this region, please commend?

The Rom for s2 will not work on the Note.
Tried a cm9 mini rom on dart and got a white screen. Huge difference in h/w or porting?
Dart ROM > Only on Dart, but portable to Mini
Mini ROM > Only on Mini
Dart are Hardware locked, so port is almost Impossible, altrough there is small chances to port it.
CM9 for Mini have different lib, apk, and hardware configuration.
roms like stock and cm7 (gb roms) are easily port-able until you have a working and compatible kernel
for ics you will need to compile everything from scratch
I'm not seeing nightlys for CM12 on download.cyanogenmod.org . Can a Galaxy Tab S 10.5 user use the nightlys for picassowifi (which is the pro 10.5 as opposed to the S model)?

I think the pro has a different processor so probably no.
There is an unofficial build by nvertigo67. Look in tab S development sub forum.

None of the tab s devices has official builds yet. I have made the request for the SM-T700 but I was told to expect a wait of three weeks before they begin the review.
Picassowifi while similar in hardware the image wont install due to several differences. While you could hack it with a sm-t800 kernel/custom boot.img and modifying the install script. I wouldn't recommend it. The unofficials are going to be your best bet at the moment.
Hi, I have the original Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" SM-T217T running Android 4.4.4. Is there a more modern ROM I could install on it? I've found plenty for Tab 2, but what about the older model?
