I can pair my Velocity (Telstra Oz Branding still with stock OS) with a Windows 7 32-Bit pc but it will not connect. During installation (& under Device Manager), I get warning that Windows could not find the driver for "Bluetooth Peripheral Device".
I have no issues with pairing or connecting other devices on either the Velocity or the PC - it's just between the Velocity and the PC. I've just come from the HD2 so I'm a newb with this Handset which was fine.
I can on the PC "send a file" to the phone just fine but no PAN or tethering...or are these features not yet part of Andriod 2.3.7 or is there some setting I don't know about?
Thanks
Nathan

Had the same issue with mine.
1. Instal HTC Sync
2. Pair set your phone discoverable.
3. Search for bluetooth devices from your PC.
4. Select your phone.
5. After pairing your mobile go to
Start->Devices and Printers right click on your phone name Properties then Services tab, choose only
Advanced Audio - tick if your bluetooth pc is compatible or leave it blank
EMAIL - leave blank
File Transfer (Obex) - tick
Headset Audio Gateway - tick if your bluetooth pc is compatible or leave it blank
Object Push (Obex) - tick
Remotely Controllable Device - tick if your bluetooth pc is compatible or leave it blank
SMS - leave blank.
Then on your PC right click on Bluetooth icon choose Join Area Network and select your phone.
Hope it will help. This resolved my issue.
But just to let you know My HTC Raider is not able to receive *.apk extension over bluetooth. MP3, jpg perfect.
Mmmm looks like my handset is only advertising that it has EMAIL and SMS as "Services" to the PC. Do you know if I need to install anything on the Handset?
Thanks
Nathan
I don't know what PAN is, or maybe I just dont recognize the acronym, but you should use the wireless hotspot for tethering, much, much, much, faster than BT.
FYI - Straight from Wikipedia:
=============
Bluetooth vs. Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11)
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (the brand name for products using IEEE 802.11 standards) have some similar applications: setting up networks, printing, or transferring files. Wi-Fi is intended as a replacement for cabling for general local area network access in work areas. This category of applications is sometimes called wireless local area networks (WLAN). Bluetooth was intended for portable equipment and its applications. The category of applications is outlined as the wireless personal area network (WPAN). Bluetooth is a replacement for cabling in a variety of personally carried applications in any setting and can also support fixed location applications such as smart energy functionality in the home (thermostats, etc.).
Wi-Fi is a wireless version of a common wired Ethernet network, and requires configuration to set up shared resources, transmit files, and to set up audio links (for example, headsets and hands-free devices). Wi-Fi uses the same radio frequencies as Bluetooth, but with higher power, resulting in higher bit rates and better range from the base station. The nearest equivalents in Bluetooth are the DUN profile, which allows devices to act as modem interfaces, and the PAN profile, which allows for ad-hoc networking.[citation needed]
==================
One benefit of Bluetooth is it chews much less power as the range is limited. I'm guessing the profile is not in 3.2 of Andriod so I'll wait and see what ICS brings.

Hello, have you got installed drivers for your bluetooth dongle? it looks like there is only basic microsoft service/driver automaticly installed. Usualy bluetooth module has got Broadcom chipset. Try to find out what make it is in device manager on your PC. Did you try to pair another handset to your pc? If behaviour is the same on your PC that means you need drivers for your bluetooth module. Check if cd was included with bluetooth when you bought it.
Yeah on my HD2 (WinMo 6.5) I get DUN and PAN (Windows Bluetooth services reports the device supports DUN, SPP, Telephony). On my Tab I get DUN (Windows Bluetooth services reports the device supports DUN). On my Velocity I get sod all (Windows Bluetooth services reports the device supports Email and SMS).
Win Device Mgr reports my BT Radios as Apple Braodcom Built In and the MS Bluetooth Enumerator.
Thanks
Nathan
I usually just tether via wifi and charge it off the usb still, then i can have it plugged up to power but if I need to take a call I can always disconnect it breifly without interuption to the internet... I've never really gotten on well with BT, I always found it cumbersome... that and my main laptop doesnt have BT... so wifi or usb is the only option
Recently bought a mini, everything seems working except there is no sound through HDMI.
I am using a LG TV as my monitor.
The system automatically updated to 2.0.626 after I powered on for a while.
Is there any fix for the sound issue?
Thanks.
Please use settings icon
A solution is -> open settings -> than sound and notifications -> than audio output mode -> choose between 1. Output audio signal to earphone and 2. Output audio signal to HDMI.
Thats it
Is that fix only for the mini? I want to download it for the Asus Chromebox and use it as an htpc. Thanks

It may be just the HDMI cable

I also just got a new Mini. Mine came with an HDMI cable included. It works, but all audio was only heard via the earphone jack. I remembered having similar issues with other devices. I unplugged the HDMI cable from my Roku box (which sends audio over its HDMI cable) and removed the one that came with the Mini and BINGO, audio over the HDMI cable. No switching settings needed. Now I wanted new HDMI cable so that I could switch the TV's input with it's remote and have audio over HDMI over all devices. Quality cables can be had at many price points. Ollie's or Big Lots is what I like. In their wide selection, make sure to buy the HDMI cable clearly marked "With HD Audio" label, otherwise, it may be just like the one from which you are upgrading. You may see that there are many more they are selling that do not have audio over the cable, usually for less money. Hope this helps.
Thanks.....good to know.

Hi, I've recently managed to install android x86 8.1 r5 on my Dell Latitude E6530 and got video out through HDMI to TV using LVDS-1:d via grub.
However I'm unable to get audio through HDMI.
Can anyone tell me why?
Here is what I get on terminal:

Hi I need help with the Dual shock 4/ any controller connecting to the Mi Max 2 via OTG. Why otg? because android has major lags and delay on bluetooth for gamestream. I require an OTG connection.
1.My phone is Rooted. I am on android 7.1.1
2.Iv tried the Xbox one controller and PS4 controller none work via OTG on the Mi Max 2 ( tried with usb Bt joystick centre does not detect anything)
Are there any custom roms or kernels I can use to get OTG gamepad support? i bought this phone for game streaming. Iv heard some kernels add gamepad support Via otg but I have no idea where to look. There are no guides.
Id apreciate any help. Thanks.
PS3 controller works flawless via usb otg and bluetooth for me, I'm running Nougat RR right now but I think I got it to work on xiaomi.eu rom too.
Even Nintendo Switch Joycons worked (with a huge input delay), but I don't know about the PS4 controller
I know how to connect PS4 controller and play smoothly using Bluetooth
From my experience, I can tell you that XenonHD 7.1.2 Custom Rom is the only Rom that has the correct input layout for PS4 controller (X button selects, O button goes back) other Roms so far have the input layout wrong (Square = X, X = O , something like that).
Input delay can be fixed (if you are using Bluetooth) :
1 - Download Bluetooth Auto Connect from Google Play Store
2 - Open the app , go to Advanced Options
3 - Set Continuous Connect (Sec) to 10
4 - Go back and scroll up and select Connect and you're good to go.
(Thanks to Raúl Alcántar for this method on fixing input lag, he's a guy who commeented on a Youtube video )
I have and old oneplus one, that i connect with an usb cable to my car and it starts android auto.
What i really want to know is, can i connect another diferent phone, samsung s8+, only with bluetooth of the car?
Every time i connect the s8 with the car bluetooth i receive a message saying that, do to the fact that i have the oneplus one conncted via android auto, i can't connect the s8. Is there a way to connect the s8 with the oneplus one connected in android auto?
That depends on your car's HU. Works on my Subaru, but from talk on this board, it does not work on various other cars.
1. Go to Settings.
2. Turn the Bluetooth ON.
3. Select 'Bluetooth'
4. If not already searching for devices, select the 'SCAN' button.
5. Select your in-car system from the device list.
6. Enter PIN or confirm that the passkey displayed on the vehicle system and phone match.
It can be different procedure for different cars.
For me it is strange. I have 2 android phones, a oneplus one rooted and a samsung s8 non rooted. I try to connect the oneplus with a cable for android auto but the S8 disconnects from bluetooth, so the 2 phones can not be connected at the same time. The weirdest thing is that my wife as the iphone 11 pro max and when she is in the car i can connect the S8 with android auto and the iphone still works with bluetooth. Why can't i do this with 2 android phones?
So, if i can connect the S8 with aa and the iphone via bluetooth, why can't i connect another android phone
rather than the iphone.?
If in my car, i have 2 "slots" for bluetooth connection:
1 combination : S8 connected with aa and using 1 "slot" BT and iphone connected using the other BT "slot", works fine
2 combination: S8 connected with aa and using 1 "slot" BT and oneplus one connected using the other BT "slot", never works
3 combination: oneplus one connected with aa and using 1 "slot" BT and S8 connected using the other BT "slot", never works
Why?
I think this is an implementation issue of the head unit. In the Subaru, I've had my phone connected to AA for navigation and my wife has used hers on bluetooth for calls. Try turning bluetooth off on the phone that is connected to AA - I don't remember, but I may have had to do that.

Hi. I have the same problem. But, if I freeze all the bluetooth services of the phone that is connected by cable (bluetooth does not work), I can connect the other phone by bluetooth to make calls and android auto works correctly.
This solution is not the best for me, since I want to connect the obd2 to the bluetooth of the phone that is permanently connected to AA.
I read online that there are people who could solve it by cloning the same bluetooh mac on both phones. But I can't find how this procedure is done.

I believe that android auto won't work unless your phone Bluetooth tooth and cable connected to head unit.
Either one is missing, it won't work.
Correct me if I am worng

Hi. I believed the same as you. But, in my case, if I disable all bluetooth services, android auto still works, with the cell phone connected by cable. (cell phone bluetooth is disabled)
I would like to find a way to use it to connect the obd2, to the cell phone that is permanently connected.
Any idea how to solve this?
Today i had the S8 connected to the infotainment system by bluetooth and then i connected the oneplus with the cable (because i had to restart the oneplus), it started the Android auto connection and for moments the 2 phones where working at the same time (i continued to listen to music from S8 and had the android auto interface on). I was viewing google maps on aa and when i switched app, the connection with S8 broke. I still don't understand, i thought that the 2 channels i had in my car for bluetooth where not connected between one another, but it seems that with 2 android phones the connection is broken. I insist, with the iphone and any other android phone works just fine.

Hi. To me, android auto forces to connect the bluetooth of the cell phone that is connected by cable. If android car is not running I can have both phones.

It does not have to be that way, at least for me. And if this works like that is a bad implementation of android auto. My car has 2 slots for bluethoot connection, i think they would have to work independently from each other, but in this case you have 2 android phones, it seems that the connection is linked in the 2 slots and it will not work, but if you have an iphone and an android phone the 2 slots work independently and they work just fine. So...Why? I still can't get it, it shouldn't be like this.
Hi mates, the same here!
I´ve an android radio with bluetooth 5.1 and can´t find a way to connect 2 Android phones at the same time. Tha´s ´cos 1 is for calls and 2 is only for music (rooted with Viper4android). Do I need another bluetooth adapter in order to make the 2nd phone working? Or what??
Tks so much and tks in adv
In the last week i has able to connect the 2 android phones via Bluetooth in my car. The trick here is to connect first the phone that you will use for calls, and then connect the other phone. If you try to do it the other way arround it won't work.

I tried the way you described, but as soon as you try to connect 2nd phone, my android head unit says to disconnect 1st phone, in order to connect 2nd phone.
Just FYI
1st phone= S10 (for receiving calls)
2nd phone= Oneplus X (android auto)
Honda accord head unit ( android auto)
For me it's not possible.
Can you describe step by step your thing. Cause AFAIK I have no go.

First off all, my car has 2 slots for bluetooth devices, normally i use an iphone (wife) and a samsung s8. In the past weeks i was trying to connect the s8 and an oneplus one. I struggled at first but now i only need to have the oneplus turned off and connect the s8 to the bluetooth of the head unit, then i turn on the oneplus witch is very fast since this device has few apps installed and connect with the cable via android auto. I even share the internet connection between phones and can play youtube videos in the head unit. The car is a Skoda Kodiaq 2017 (VW group).

It happens to me as it does to you. When I connect with the cable it forces me to use the bluetooth of the cell phone connected to the cable.
I still can't find the solution
