Although device is recognized in adb devices, when I turn to fastboot mode isn't recognized in fastboot devices and when I try to type a fastboot command (fastboot getvar) < waiting for device > is displayed and nothing happens. Can someone help me? I have installed universal adb drivers.
Here's a screenshot of cmd to help you understand the problem:

drivers are installed from cdrom and fastboot drivers are recognized, but nothing happens again

Today I installed Flashtool and the tutorial asked me to install the drivers but everytime I install the drivers windows security shows up and says "windows can't verify the publisher of this software , even when I click install it anyway it prevents it and won't install it (window is a tricky pony) then in the end all installation fails.
Anyone experience this have a solution , Btw running window vista

I did but it can't repair my device because my device is currently stuck in the SE logo so is not bootloop and in no other way I can boot to the phone or recovery , if you know anyway of letting PCC detect my phone without mounting that would be great.
After install PC Companion, shutdown your phone. Connect it in Flash Mode ( press the back button, and connect the USB cable without release the button). The drivers to use Flashtool should be installed.
Use PC COMPANION or SEUS or FlASHTOOLS(using firmware)
disable UAC in control panel
and you should have administrative rights

try another usb cable, make sure you are using a data cable and not only a charging cable.
i try with another HTC USB Cable but but still have problem...
i try with 3 different PC, but not have any effect...
As soon as I have attached the phone via cable to pc, it asked me for Installation of Drivers ZUK_UsbDriver_1.0.5 which I installed, now again as soon as i plugged in, it doesn't open my phone on pc, and gave the same message of installation of ZUK_UsbDriver_1.0.5 but with error that ZUK_UsbDriver_1.0.5 is already installed.

uninstall previously zuk drivers
Install USBDeview from nirsoft
launch in admin mode and uninstall all instances of Z1
install ADB driver by koushikdutta
connect your z1 - see if it recognizes, enable android debugging option in z1
that's it.

Still same issue
Hi there, I am(or was) attempting to root my Galaxy note 8 following the instructions on this thread. I've rooted several other samsung products before using Odin and followed the instructions, but after double and triple checking that my pc recognized the device as "Qualcomm HS-USBQDLoader 9008" I used odin to flash the "BL_ZERO_FORCE_EDL" boot loader. Now my phone appears to be bricked. The screen won't turn on, probably because of the boot loader in question, however adb won't recognize my device when plugged in via usb. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. My computer still see's it as "Qualcomm HS-USBQDLoader 9008", but no luck. Any idea's?

I had the same experience, but its an easy fix.
You're going to need to download QPST https://www.qpstflash.com/. Once its installed go to the qualcom folder in program files and open QFIL.
From there, you need to to point the firehose path to the directory you downloaded in the root thread that contains the raw program.xml and patch.xml files.
Go to configuration, select Reset State Machine, and set Max Payload to Target to 1048576.
Now press Download Content
When It's done, you should be able to boot into download mode like normal.
So I unlocked my bootloader successfully using techmesto's free boot loader unlock tool and i wanted to flash a twrp recovery.
But when I boot into fastboot using "adb reboot bootloader" command and then try the "fastboot devices" command i get no output.
But when I try "adb devices" in normal boot I get an output of my device's serial number.
I also found out that some how techmesto's tool is able to recognize my device when in bootloader mode.
I already tried various drivers from hmd gobal, google and universal adb drivers still no change.
so can anyone help me out of this situation as it's frustrating that I can't still do anything even after unlocking my bootloader after waiting all this time.

OK I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION
thanks to the nokia 7 plus community on telegram
1) use only the drivers from the cd rom thing that comes up when you connect your phone to pc
2)ONLY USE THE LATEST PLATFORM TOOL ADB AND FASTBOOT (link). no other adb like MINIMAL ADB WILL NOT WORK.
