Question for devs: Capacitive button backlight off during watching videos

Hi Devs, do you think it would be possible for a mod to be created that dims or switches off the Capacitive buttons backlights off whilst watching videos or Youtube? Would be especially handy when watching videos in the dark. Kind of annoying having the bright capacitive button lights there when trying to watch in the dark.

I used tasker to do this.. I also turned off the notification light. If you want to know more let me know

Oh nice! Did not know tasker had this option. Turning off both the capacitive buttons backlights and notification LED would be sweet! Gonna give it a try myself but will let u know if I need any help. Thanks buddy

droidlight - its all budget all the time but its from Motorola Mobility, so it should be 100% safe to use.

Does it make much difference? I am using the Motorola one but I'm wondering why you would ask - do different apps provide a brighter light?

The one I linked above is super simple.open it, the light turns on.open it again, it turns off.easy as could be

I'm not sure what is the Motorola one? Do you mean Droidlight LED Flashlight? Looks it will automatically turn off when screen time is up.

That's the Droidlight LED Flashlight, I saw some comments that it will automatically turn off when the screen time is up, do you have the same issue?

No, but motto puts a time limit on the led. I assume it is to protect the led from over heating.

Been using this one since my Driod 1. Lets you use screen or LED and seems to be very lightweight (would have posted the actual link, but I never really posted to XDA... just mainly read. Need to get rid of the stupid post restriction)

I use the flashlight in Power Toggles. I keep a set of toggles on a lock screen widget (WiFi, sound mode, Bluetooth, flashlight, GPS) and the flashlight is one of them.

TeslaLed, you can set a widget with it that automatically turns it on. It also has strobe options I believe. But it also works great with Tasker as it is built in as a plugin or 3rd party options. I exported an app with Tasker App Factory so I can activate it via voice as well.

Notification led

Hi everybody. I have a little problem. After install a custom rom my notification led brights with a very low light!!! It's barely visible!!! Somebody else had this problem? Thx

Moto X Led enabler

Hi guys,
Just spotted this on the app store.
It allows you to use the built in led for notifications. Working on factory ROM but requires root.

Confirmed working.
It's a solid light. Still waiting on functionality for a flashing notification. But it works!

Funny you ended up over here too lol.
If root is still required light flow has the best options as far as timeout etc.

Yea, I finally had to get a phone that had access to the bootloader. Good to see you here!

Is this LED consume lots of battery?
There is significant drain with this app?

If you want blinking check out Tesla I added proper blink functionality over there I think most aosp Roms have picked it up now. I'll try to add it to stock eventually for the stock lovers

Any luck adding adding Moto X Pure to your list of supported devices? I'll definitely buy light flow if you do. Configurable front flash notification would be a big bonus. There's also a hidden notification light under the top speaker grill that could be utilized.

Yellow tint in screen

Hey guys is some one else noticing yellow tint in screen in basic mode?
Please look at the attached screen shot and comment
In the pic the screen is compared with an exercise book,newspaper and a lid, all of which are white.

Check in adaptive mode and revert. This being amoled screen will show pale colours in basic mode.

Adaptive mode works better
I guess this isnt a fault of screen but of the display tech
Do u have same problem in basic mode?

That's the way Samsung has programmed these options.
