Hi
My AOD brightness is not set to auto, but it keeps adjusting on its own. I have it set to the 3rd highest level. However every couple days it keeps lowering back to the 2nd level. Anyone else notice this?

Does anybody noticed an issue with Auto Brightness?
Sometimes when i turn the screen on the brightness is automatically set to maximum and it doesn't scale down even if i'm in a dark room.

Sometimes my screen is set to max as soon as I turn it on but it returns to normal right after.
the issue i mentioned appears expecially after rebooting. the brightness goes at the maximum level and does not auto adjust.
Yeah, I have noticed a number of strange behaviors on 2.3.3. In fact, I have not yet seen it work properly auto-brightness mode on, It does one of the following:
-Brightness goes to low and stays there until I turn off auto
-Brightness goes to 100% and stays there until I turn off auto
-Brightness flips back and forth between low and 100% about every 20 seconds (instantly, not gradually).
None of the above seem to have anything to do with what the ambient light level is, but I could be wrong about that.
I also noticed that (Android app) Tasker doesn't seem to be able to control the brightness anymore.
Motorola Droid.
The last time i tried Auto Brightness was when i first bought my N1 and it didn't work at all. Been set at a level i like ever since and now i have no compunction to try Auto again.
hmm... it seems after installing the xperia flip settings mod occasionally the brightness will be reduced to ~20% after random calls. not auto, just a manual setting down. anyone else have this issue?
any good way to change it?
Can turn it off. Don't think you can set the auto to be brighter....
The app Lux let's you set the brightness at different light levels
I have the 920C variant and running arter97 ver. 9.4.
I've been having some issues with the auto brightness, because I usually keep it on auto and let it adjust accordingly, however, lately I've noticed that the auto brightness is not adjusting the brightness according to ambient light. Even when I put my finger on the sensor, nothing changes.
The second problem I have is when I turn my phone to silent and then back to normal, for some reason the notification sound slider stays mute, the rest go back to normal. I don't know what's causing this.
I'm not sure if these problems are related to the kernel or from the phone itself. I'm running rooted stock rom with arter97 kernel.
Ok I think I figured out the problem with silent notifications. I have Don't Pause app installed which was running in the background for some reason, so I uninstalled it, so sound is back to normal now I think. But I still have the brightness issue.
Got the new Home Hub. Already have two issues. I'm curious if others have found a solution:
1. The screen get TOO dark at night. Even though I have the screen timout setting turned off, and the Auto-Brightness Offset setting to max brightness, the screen still shuts (almost) completely off in a dark room. At night, when your eyes have adjusted to the dark, you can still only BARELY see the white numbers of the clock against the black background. People were worried that it wouldn't get dark enough for nightstand use, but this is ridiculous. Any way to brighten that up a bit? By the way, this happens even if I turn ambient brightness off.
2. The main purpose of this device will be as a bedside alarm clock (replacing my aging Nexus 7). I've figured out how to set alarms, but not how to change the alarm sound. I do not like the default tune it plays. Any way to change that? I know I can have it play music, but I do actually prefer an alarm sound -- just not the default one.
Anybody have similar issues? Any other issues that I haven't noticed yet?
Yes. Exact same experience. I'm honestly pretty confused by the settings and the language of which mode is what. The offset doesn't seem to do anything at all for me.
I haven't had that experience with screen brightness. When I turn off the Adaptive feature, the brightness doesn't seem to adapt.
I can confirm that you cannot currently change the alarm sound, though I think I saw that option is coming this month or next.
Go into the Display settings for your Home Hub and set the minimum brightness from dim to bright. This makes the numbers much easier to read at night when in dark mode.
