USB to hdmi support? - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Does it support USB to hdmi dongle?
I see the official specs state only version 2.0, but so do those of the black shark 2 and usb-hdmi is supported. Can anybody test?

yes I would like to know about this.

Just ordered one at crazy Chinese sale, will report back when I get my hands on it.

I tried !!!USB to hdmi dongle can not use!!!

Just use display link device and you will have HDMI output (i use it). , search on reddit "hdmi out solution xiaomi" .There are drawbacks but works great in general

depends from chipset , on snap 835 works fine i don't have this problems, check also videos with pocophone f1 works good if you have enough power.

1 is not a sample size

Play this video at 0.25 and you will notice a delay of at least 100ms. I know this may not be substantial to some people but it is for me with Battle Royals. Also the $100+ cost of a displaylink adapter(with ethernet,1usbc,2usb ports) is not worth just buying the red magic 3 with usbc 3.0 and better thermals. My adapter was less than 30$ and has more ports than that.

like you said it's " not be substantial to some people" so it's still good to indicate this option cause it's widely unknown and can be good for many, i will try again but i found asphalt 9 perfectly playable with displaylink with not that much lag, maybe on Battle Royals you are correct there could be some noticeable problem
i paid my display link adapter around 30 dollar and i'm glad that i found this possibility to use hdmi

Has anyone tried to using usb c dongle for macbook or something like that to output the hdmi ?
Just want to know if that works or not

You need USB 3.1 for USB-C to HDMI output, but the Xiaomi devices just have USB 2.0.

Sorry to break your bubble, but every Android phone with USB-C can use these Display Link Adapters to get HDMI output. The thing with K20 AND Poco is that a display link adapter is necessary to get HDMI output, because these phones have USB C 2.1 and not USB C 3.0 (which is capable of directly outputting to HDMI).

Do you have any experience with this cable?

So, just to be clear: a USB 3.x smartphone can use only an simple USB-HDMI cable and a USB 2.x smartphone must use a USB-HDMI displaylink converter?

You can't. Except for hdcp strippers like hdfury or hdcp-free capture boxes, the only devices accepting HDMI input are monitors and projectors.

This response is a little misleading. Those links are how use GPIO pins for controlling audio samples not actually using them for audio input.

We have no idea or enough info to even try and help. It's like saying my car won't start but my neighbors does, what's wrong?
What TV do you have the issue with? Is it hooked up directly to the TVs HDMI port?
Have you tried a different HDMI cable?
How do you have the Chromecast connected, USB or outlet?
Dose it work with other HDMI TVs/monitors on YOUR network?
Have you tried casting from and Android device, PC or both?
Basically you have to give some details. All we have right now is:
1. older TV
2. 720p
3. Audio but no video
not much to go on.
I guess if it an older TV it's possible there's some kind of incapability.
I am having the same problem so I'll try and provide more info.
I am using Chromecast in hotels. These TVs have not been updated in ages. The current one I am checking on is a LG 32LC5DC TV. I believe it is a known issue that Chromecast can only display 1080p format. So basically the video does not work but audio does.
What I am curious about is that it worked one time on the same TV model. For the life of me, I cannot get it work again.
My chromecast works fine on an older 720P Samsung plasma that does not support a 1080P signal input. Not sure if the tv will accept 1080i.
Most likely the Chromecast is relying on the TV to report back via HDMI whether it supports 720p or 1080p, and then it selects the appropriate resolution. But if the TV is too old, it might not report anything, causing the Chromecast to default to 1080p.
I don't think the Chromecast does any auto-detect at all. On my 720p TV the info screen clearly shows that it's getting a 1080p signal. So Chromecast sends at 1080p no matter what, and if your TV does not display 1080p then it must be able to downconvert or it won't show any image at all.
In my experience the Chromecast does do some communication. I hooked it up to a VGA monitor through an HDfury2 (which doesn't scale) and the monitor reported a 720p (1280x720) signal.
Meanwhile my 1080p TV says it's getting 1080p.
On boot-up, the splash screen seems to be 480p, but I've never successfully gotten the Chromecast to output 480p past boot, despite disabling resolutions via EDID updates on the display end.

Thanks. I do know that Chromecast can output 1280x720.
Your TV seems to be one of the types where different HDMI ports have different capabilities (I hate that).
HDMI 1 seems to support both Computer and Video resolutions/timings.
HDMI 2 supports only Video resolutions/timings.
Make sure you have the TV on when you plug power into the Chromecast. That'll ensure it can negotiate the supported resolution properly.
If that still doesn't work, remove power from Chromecast, move Chromecast to the other HDMI port, then power up Chromecast and see if that works.
2 to 1 Odds it's the TV not the Chromecast.
And Hotels are notorious for disabling HDMI Ports on their TVs!
All it takes is one bad pin on the connector to make the entire input not work.

Why in the world is there no 1080p/60fps video recording on the N6?

Even two year old phones like the LG G2 have it. Anyone know if it will be included in a future update? The hardware is obviously capable.
The hardware is capable but the Google Camera app is absolutely horrible.

Don't know why everybody says that goog camera is so bad. It works just as well as any other.
Also, lcamera's 60fps mode is limited to Hammerhead, and requires custom hacked blobs to enable. Won't do it on Shamu.
OP:
No 60fps because you won't get anything useful out of it. It'll just suck your storage dry faster.

What do you mean nothing useful out of it? Suck your storage faster. We want 1080p 60frames. On our 64 gig storage phones. To take video with fast movement. I understand 2160p at 30 frames. Technology isn't there yet. But 1080p is and shame on Google for not enabling it.

If you can't notice the difference in framerate between 30 and 60 than you might want to visit a doctor.
The difference is extremely clear, and very desirable for smooth video and motion.
There is a reason that most video games run at 60 FPS instead of 30.
It looks smoother but if the bitrate stays the same, compression on each frame is higher which results in degraded picture quality particularly with complex movement/subjects.
60FPS is definitely useful as you can play it back at 30FPS and have 2:1 slow motion, etc.
Have to give it to Apple for their app as their 240fps mode is great for slow motion. Having the sound in there is also neat. Makes my little Jack Russell's growl sound like a lion's roar!
I use Cinema FV-5 and was surprised to see no 1080 60P mode available. It may be locked in the firmware even though the hardware is capable of higher frame rates.

Well I faced a small amount of lag, but not enough to effect gameplay; atleast for Shadow of Mordor. Btw, turning off Wi-Fi on other devices helped reduce lag greatly. Overall, limelight seems to be better than both Splashtop and Kainy with the only requirement being that you have an nvidia graphics card.

Hi,
I'm currently using an s7 edge with the Gear VR.
When plugging my device into my VR headset the screen mirror on my fire stick shows the first loading icon and then freezes all the while my headset is working fine.
Any reason for this as I've read that the note 4 works fine on fire stick and miracast.
