WiFi Calling Nightmare!! - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

So I am having a bit of a nightmare that I hope someone can help me with. I seem to have lost the option to enable WiFi calling... From anywhere. This option is totally missing from all settings panels.
Bit of background, I'm running a Quark with RR Nougat 8.5 (last release out) due to the fact that Oreo will not support encryption with TWRP, Nougat does.
Anyway I know I have seen the option to enable WiFi calling on my device but I cannot seem to locate it again. I have seen some other situations where this option has disappeared. Any help would be great appreciated. Thanks!

[Q] WiFi calling on AOSP on Project Fi

Im seeing multiple people saying that they have WiFi calling on Project Fi running a latest AOSP ROM like Chroma or AOSiP, but I cannot get it working. You cannot put phone into airplane mode to force test it, so how are you verifying it is going over WiFi? It is supposed to show the SSID in the call, but I cannot get it to do this, even with poor to no cell service.
EDIT:
It is not working. Either people were lying or dont understand how wifi calling works for Fi, but once asked to perform a screen shot, they changed their answers to, it doesnt work, but everything else does. Which all AOSP ROMs have before.

These ROM's don't let you put it Airplane mode so the toggle isn't there or doesn't work?
Will update 1st post.

The latest Pure Nexus ROM worked for me. I noticed there was a third file posted along with it called a "Google dialer.". Required to work with project Fi. I did a clean install (wiped everything) since I had wiped my phone clean anyway, and installed the stock ROM (after being used to Chroma).
Turning on airplane mode on my phone, then Re-enabled my WiFi connection. Made a call as usual, and it went through. On both the stock rom and Pure Nexus.
How can I know for certain that I am getting WiFi calling, other than knowing I had disabled my cellular radio? I would be more than happy to install software and take a screenshot to help. I'd been using Chroma as my goto ROM on my nexus 5, so I did the same after the small nuisances in Stock 5.1.1, like pocket dialing. I really would prefer an led notification over a whole screen one. But that's just me. I hope I helped some.

[Q] AOSP LYZ28E & Wi-Fi Calling Issue

I need help to figure out how to get Wi-Fi calling to work on AOSP LYZ28E on Nexus 6 and T-Mobile.
I have built many ROMs with AOSP source code from 5.1 on up and have encountered problems with sound & video not working properly with pure source code. I've always been able to find the solutions here on XDA.
With LYZ28E for Nexus 6, a straight build using pure AOSP source code (using repo init, repo sync & make with no additional code) I can't even get a ROM built that has working data on cellular signal.
Straight out of the box on this build, there is no cellular data signal, volume fades, video doesn't work, VoLTE doesn't work & Wi-Fi Calling doesn't work, even though the settings are there.
I've found the solutions for everything except for Wi-Fi Calling. My ROM has a few features added in including Battery & Notification lights, resizable nav bar and battery percentage text, and the sound, video & VoLTE works.
But for the life of me I can't get Wi-Fi calling to work. It works in my house on the factory image so I know it's not a problem with my location or infrastructure settings.
I've looked through the few ROMs here on XDA to compare my code with their Wi-Fi Calling commits, and I can't see any differences. I know I'm missing something, but I can't find it and don't know exactly where to find it. Google searches don't bring up anything useful.
I'm hoping someone here can help point me in the right direction or give me some clues on where to look. I've attached some screen shots of my settings & APN.
I truly appreciate any help you kind folks can provide.
Thanks
from what ive read around, you need to have an edited kernel, with the proper edits, to get wifi calling to work on aosp. what are the edits, i dont know, but it needs to be done. you can look at chroma roms source code to look what was done to get wifi calling to work.
Thanks simms, I saw ZephiK had some kennel work in his Git, so I'll look into that and see what I can do from there.
Thank you very much for the tip!
good luck!
Thanks I'm going to download his kernel source and try to figure out if I can stick it into my files and see if it builds or if I need to compile it separately or whatever needs to be done haha
I'll update this thread with the results...
Onward and upwards
EDIT: I managed to finally get wifi calling to work on my rom, thanks to Pure Nexus ROM source. It turns out the AOSP stock kernel does enable wfc out of the box. There's just a lot of proprietary vendor files I didn't have that I obtained from the Pure Nexus source.
So, yeah, finally got everything working on my rom that I want

No ipv6 toggle? 3T - OOS 4.1

i dont know whats happening, my 3t does not have the ipv6 toggle! (see attached)
i saw in a video, it suposed to be in the wifi settings
Ive already wiped the phone to factory, and installed OOS 4.1
Can anyone help?
regards!
I think it was removed in OOS 4.1.0, which is unfortunate since it dramatically improved my WiFi reliability... So much for "Improved WiFi connectivity," hope they bring it back in the next patch.
WTF is it with them. This perfect phone and better and better Oxygen Rom and they forget to put a feature that was discussed before many times. Bleah!
From what I understood, this was only included in OOS 4.0.3 to debug the WiFi connectivity issues. They appear to have fixed them, therefor this is no longer necessary.

Moto X4 (unlocked AND Android One variant) wireless disconnect issues

Seeing this issue on both my unlocked x4 running latest build (retus - PWWS27.1.3) and my fiance's Android One variant (running latest I assure you, can't get the info from her atm) where our phones will drop from the wifi in the house, and then immediately reconnect as if nothing happened.
Running a Netgear AC2350 r7500v2 with latest firmware (V1.0.3.26) through Verizon FIOS.
A lot of the reports and issues I'm reading about on other sites sound a lot like what the Pixel devices are going through, albeit they seem to be a little more centered around mesh networks, of which I don't have in use.
So pretty much, anyone else having weird issues relating to wifi on 8.0? If it's possible to go back to 7.1 I might give that a shot just to see if it's for sure an Oreo problem or not.
I had the same issue. I had to disable IPv6. I also got the phone replaced, the replacement does the same thing if IPv6 is enabled.
IPV6 on the router end you mean?
**UPDATE** Just checked, not enabled through my router.

Yes on the router. Before I upgraded the replacement, I think the WiFi was working fine. Something might be wrong with the Oreo update.
If you contact Motorola, they will replace it, my replacement didn't come with Oreo.
Motorola knows there's issues with the WiFi, but don't seem to care much. Not just the X4, if you search Google, you'll find some of their other phones with WiFi issues too.

Yuuuuuuup. Been finding a lot of people with the same problems. Instead of digging up old threads, figured it'd be worthwhile to start one here to bring more attention to the problem.
Now to find out if it's possible to get nougat back on...

Themes / Apps / Mods Realme 8 pro GSI overlay

Hey there!
I've created a GSI overlay specifically for our devices.
It should fix:
AOD and AOD going black
The auto brightness button (currently broken due to https://github.com/TrebleDroid/treble_experimentations/issues/32)
The appearance of the punch hole cutout and status bar.
Power profile.
Potentially resolving certain connectivity issues.
I've submitted a pull request to the TrebleDroid repo (https://github.com/TrebleDroid/vendor_hardware_overlay/pull/28). However, you can give it a try using the attached Magisk module.
Please test it out and let me know how it works for you!
Few months ago i flashed pixel rom 13 gsi on my device and the volte/calling was broken...like i was not able to get incoming calls so i reverted back to color os after some struggle....
Right now my device is on rmui 4.0 unlocked bootloader
I want to flash a working gsi and use your fixes...
can you help me on that?

Hi, I also couldn't get VoLTE to work. I got the option in settings and VoWiFi working, but as soon as I try to call via VoLTE, my network type changes to 3G. I'll try to look into further.

So, I somehow got it working. I'm currently on Project Elixir 3.7 Official.
In phh treble settings -> IMS features:
- Install IMS APK for Qualcomm pre-S vendor.
- Request IMS network.
- Force presence of 4G calling setting.
I've also set org.codeaurora.ims' battery usage to unrestricted. For good measure.
Now VoLTE and VoWiFi should appear in settings.
After that, I turned off and turned on VoLTE. Now I get the HD sign in Google Phone.
Not sure how consistent or stable this is, but seems to work. Although VoWiFi doesn't work due to "Force presence of 4G..." (tbh, I've never really seen anyone use VoWiFi)
This works 50/50. I get VoLTE after switching it on and off, but it can also break for no reason.

Exactly the volte breaks for no reason and turns back on after switching it off and on again.
I guess only a custom rom can fix that.

Most likely. Anyway, I'll try to steal some frameworks from stock ROM, might help a bit.
