So I just picked up the p30 pro and it's awesome. But whenever I try to set up a finger print, I get enroll failed. Finger print will light up for a second, then I get the message. Please help.
Keep your finger on it till it vibrates and shows you to put a different part of the finger on the sensor
Apart from that can't say much

I really prefer using the finger print scanner for my lock screen at work. The phone has a tendency of turning on in my pocket and doing stuff while in there. When I'm at home or out and about it's less of a worry. So can I switch it from finger print mode to a swipe unlock with just an NFC tag? If I have to swipe my finger after tapping the NFC tag to switch fingerprint mode off is fine.
You might check out gravity screen in the play store. It keeps the phone off in your pocket very reliably.
I think there was an xposed module that allowed you to change the lock screen. May be able to work something up where it changes depending on if you are at home or work. Sorry probably not the most helpful post.....
Ok, I want to be given the option of using either my fingerprint or number code on the lock screen. Seems like I have to pick one or the other.
Am I missing something or do I need another lockscreen app?
Anyone?
I use the fingerprint and it gives me the option to type in the backup code I had specified in setup for the fingerprint option. They allow this in case the fingerprint doesn't work (like if you cut your finger, etc.). Also you can specify up to four fingers which I have done...

if your finger print scanner not working or not recognised then it will ask for password.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply folks. I do get that it defaults to a code if the fingerprint fails.
My reason is that I work in a lab where I am required to wear gloves, no option for fingerprint scanning, so I have to use an unlock code at work.
My wish was that when I set it for fingerprint, it would also show the numer unlock, thus giving me two options.

No, my lock screen says to use the fingerprint scanner but also has a button labeled "use backup password" (which works). I'd show you a screen snapshot but that functionality is disabled on the lock screen of course. I think that button only appears after a failed fingerprint scan. So how come you can't just use it that way? Just touch the fingerprint scanner to your nose or something and then the button would appear!?!?
Hello to the community,
I have the following problem with my P10. When I am in an app and I touch the fingerprint scanner the phone goes to the launch screen (exit from the app). I think this happens after update b180. The fingerprint scanner works like the software circle button when I am in an app. How to deactivate that function?
Thank you!
I don't think you can turn it off. But I agree, it's annoying. Somebody thought it's super useful and they just had to put it there.
That happens after b180; in b151 didn't exist;
Nice. i actually want this behaviour. would prefer that i could use the fingerprint scanner "one button" option at the same time navigation bar is activated though.
Hi,
I bought nokia 7 plus android 8. I have this problem of removing the vibration every time I use the finger print sensor to unlock my phone.
If possible, I also want to remove the start up sound of my nokia 7 plus.
I hope some tech expert notice me.
I am getting annoyed of the vibration when unlocking my phone using finger print sensor.
settings for "finger vibration" is together with "touch vibration" here: Settings/Accessibility/Vibration/TouchVibration
for disable startup sound:
- via app (don't know if/as now work) https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-7-plus/help/boot-music-t3782614/post76414342

Hi, on my mi9t phone that I got recently, I have noticed that whenever I am on an app, go back to the desktop and try to move an app or folder, the phone asks for my finger print to "unlock the desktop". Now I am using Evie Launcher instead of MIUI10 so it could be a part of that. I have looked through the settings of both (Evie and original settings) and there is no sign of a desktop lock feature. Please help, as it annoys me each time I open my desktop! Thanks.
