I've noticed a bright purple spot when shooting on the main camera. I can tell it's not from a scratch on the glass because it's bright and even appears on pitch black settings. Help!

Unfortunately, no. I was expecting it to be added on the V40 but LG didn't include it.

anyone know what that is ?? is it the ambient sensor for the display light ??
so why it's only shown on the white version ??
Thanks

Yes you do, shine a bright light at the top of the glass, all of the same 'windows' are there.
I think the capsule/rectangle one is the proximity sensor -- an emitter and a receiver to gauge proximity, and the top left dot is the ambient light sensor.
Does anyone know how to fix this camera black bar? It should be transparent right?

Set the resolution to 9MP, which is 16:9. If you use 13MP, then the image will be 4:3, hence the black bar behind the capture button.

Indeed this fixes it, how dumb not to have realised it myself.
Thanks for the help.
You're welcome.
Hi everyone.
Using Mi9 Global Version MIUI 10.2.17.0 and found in camera app appearing green hollow circle. It's not all the time, it appears on a specific angle, but other phones on the same spot and angle don't have it. Also it's visible on Gcam app so I'm sure it's not a software problem, more lens. Reported to Xiaomi, but is it experiencing just me or more users see it?

Have same exact issue with one of my mi 9 (have 2).
did you manage to solve it?
Hi,
I was just playing around with the camera app today and noticed that the front camera was set to 5.2 megapixels, so I was like let's just change it back to 8..
Unfortunately, when I tapped on the front camera options there was no option above 5.2..
Any suggestions that'll fix this?
Do know my device is exynos and I'm running the latest security patch I.e: june one ui

There is 8 mpx.
When you run camera, switch to "wide" angle, and than enter In settings.

Thanks bro..
I mentioned this problem in another thread before. Since we have the wide mode me lost true 8 MP Front Camera. No other mode or camera app except the fake "wide mode" can take pics with 8 MP. Samsung screwed us there big time
When i take selfie (lowlight), there's a countdown , but it wont show my picture until the countdown finishes. Is this a bug or a feature?

So besides the "flash" option w/c is brighter, this is a feature for low light?
Thanks

For the selphie cam, yes. It illuminates your face when it's dark.
