Anyone know when they're gonna release the update for Android Auto?

What are you, talking? Did you see the video?
I also read that Google is giving the update in steps.
Even if you install the update it will not bring the new look until Google is read to do it. When Google wants, you will see the new look.
I m not trolling at all.

We all know it's coming eventually. Google announced it at the beginning of May, it's not news.
You claimed it started rolling out. It hasn't. The video doesn't support a claim that "it started."

Well the article i read which has the video , said that it started.
I can post it but it is in Greek.
Anyway i suppose its not true based on your last link.

I was excited for a moment this morning when I noticed my phone had received a Android Auto app update. But alas, same UI as before.

I have a suggestion... do the download, before it tries to actually update u shut down the phone, copy the file from the card to your PC, upload it to megaupload and post the link here.

Not true at all...
Edit: Just noticed this is an old thread. Why did you dig up such an old thread?? Just install the OTA...
why? How does that help?

Well if its asking you to update to 2.3.3, then lots of people here are waiting for the files so they can manually update, as Google haven't put them on their developers site to anyones knowledge. Plus people can then get cooking with the files you provide.
So be a dear, upload the files. Please!

You've got to give him some credit... I've never seen some one pretend to get an OTA, that everyone wants, in such a clever way. Normally it's more like this, "YAYY!!!!! I gotz dA OTAs!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111one!!!!11ONE!!!" and then you never hear from them again. If he didn't have over 700 posts I'd almost believe him.
I can give some credit for that
It is better than the guy who posts on twitter, and once revealed that he was making it up, is threatened by many.
serious update is serious!!
oh... =/
I saw now that it was an old thread... if I'd knew I wouldn't answer to it.
OR, he found and posted in this thread because it was relevant to a problem he's having on another Android phone?
Look at his signature, he has a G2.
Quit being so jumpy people.

sooo a guy with over 700 posts here doesn't realize that this isn't the g2 forum, somehow gets a g2 update, when I'm almost positive there are none being released currently (or ever for the g2) on the day that the n1 happens to have announced that is coming out and people are foaming at the mouths to get it?
and I'm supposed to feel bad for him reanimating a year old thread from the dead, with a vague non working solution to a problem he prior didn't have?
I'll stick with my thoughts on the matter, thanks though.
I'll just leave this here...

Again that can only be for tablets and not for N5.
That's only for tablets. Nexus 5 and other nexus devices will get lollipop in 'the following weeks'

*Design is a major focus for*Lollipop—the latest version of Android—which begins to roll out today.
As exciting as it is, I wanna see them post the source asap so our favorite devs can take a crack at this.
Yeah I know I'm wanting it and refreshing the dev page in case the source gets released.

The OTA is only for tablets!
Dev images should be posted today but nothing will roll out today for GSM/CDMA devices.
The OTA for the other nexus devices will come in the following weeks.

Next coming weeks could literally mean in the next 5 minutes to the next coming weeks. Plus Google doesn't give everyone the update at the same time. It takes weeks.

Oh the Nexus twitter account must be a spam account and that's why it had a huge verified check mark next to it.
Its been stated over and over by various sources including google that the OTA from today will only be for WiFi devices aka tablets.

i still don't think so
as not even a tablet received it yet.

It's cool either way, as long as it doesn't take 2 months or some'n than I can wait a couple of weeks. In such events like these, I'm glad that I chose to buy Nexus 5 instead of the usual Samsung/HTC as I did in the past.

Who uses the ota function anyway? If you own a nexus device flashing factory images should be a given.

Also androidcentral has the OTA which is a 800+MB update for the Nexus 9
And if anyone wants to research it or find that image feel free to use google.

I understand that but I still don't know if you want guesses of facts. You'll not be getting facts because we're not Google. Guesses aren't useful
Aren't the android one devices in the Philippines shipped running 5.1? Or are all the articles and pictures wrong.. We should see it by the end of Q1 no?

Shipped with? Probably. Available to the public is another thing. It will push to AOSP first then updates to nexus devices will be next, but we have no time scales.

Yeah its a waiting game. From my experience, whenever we hear dates, they're almost always not met anyway. I never believe anything until I see tags updates on AOSP or someone actually receiving an OTA.

Read some threads.... The informationis out there, there are better alternatives.
I have never seen a device be abandoned so much.. I'm not going to write everything I've already written again because people won't be bothered to look themselves, the info is there, have a look.

You must be confused, this device got Android 13 update this summer and just got a big update this week. Very much not abandoned.

Abandoned by developers...100% true... Not only that but oppo/oneplus are locking these devices down. Unlocking the bootloader on the 10T is already an issue.
Think it's you who's confused pal

They're mostly referring to the fact that OnePlus, once developer-friendly, has reversed that stance and with every flagship phone, has found more and more new and exciting ways to make developers' lives a living hell. Hence, no developer support. Meanwhile, OP releases updates that only seem to break things more than anything else. Buyer beware, as they say.
