invalid mmi or connection problem - Xiaomi Mi 9 Questions & Answers

Hello all, I have got this message when trying to activate call waiting on my EU rom mi9. My network settings are all correct in the APN settings as per the telco's settings. My phone rings and sends sms/mms. My data works fine.
I am unable to activate call waiting, and when I try to do it from the menu I get a Network or SIM card error message.
When I put my sim in another phone it works fine with *43# or menu settings. The other sim in my phone still fails.
I have researched everywhere and can't find any possible solutions. Has anyone else had this problem? I have just wiped my phone to fix another problem, and this is now a new problem as it all worked previously. Thanks

[Q] Network Issues

Hi guys,
I'm having network connection problems I recently purchased my RAZR I, was informed it was unlocked,
however when I insert my 3 sim, I get the message " Cannot connect to network at this time, please try again later" !
The phone doesn't display any sim error messages, I've purchased a 16 digit unlock code, in case its locked,
but am unable to enter it into the phone as no error screens pop up, I've tried android codes which are
supposed to "call" the "enter code"scene, but without success.
I can't find a working code for the "engineer mode" either....
I've changed radio mode to "gsm only" (I'm in the UK)...
I've rebooted, factory reset....etc etc
Phone info screen states... Network unconnected
GPRS. off
I'm at a loss... How do I remove the "little red triangle", emergency calls only & connect to a network so I can use the phone.

Which software is installed?
Which provider do you try to use?
Is the sim card working in an other phone?
If you manually search for a network, do you get any choice?
Phone is running stock ROM ... Jelly bean.
I'm trying to use my Three Network sim which works fine in other phones.
I've manually searched networks... Results show 3, Vodophone, o2 & Orange... Selecting 3 brings up same "cannot connect at this time...." message.
I've checked APN settings, they're as they should be !
Thanks for quick response...

Which exact software is running? Please the full image string.
That would show for which country/continent the phone is setup. Maybe you also just need to call Three Network and ask if they see some error on their side.
Stats are as follows...
System version
91.2.29001.XT890.Retail.in.GB
Android
4.1.2
Kernel version
3.0.34-g261995f
[email protected]))
Build number
9.8.21-50_SMI-29.1359955748
As the phone won't register on the network, Three are unable to test the connection ! Plus my sim works in all my other phones.
The RAZR I is reading the sim as my contacts import to the phone, so I don't think the sim jacket is at fault either....
Hope this helps...

Oh ! I've also checked the IMEI number online & as far as I can tell its not blocked...
Come on guys any ideas.....

No idea now. It could be a broken phone or a broken sim. Maybe one metal contact on the SIM is broken, or something like that.
I've been in touch with Motorola, there answer is a factory reset.... I've tried a few sims and all are recognised ( the associated APN loads every time...) but still no network connection. I've also checked the antenna connections to ensure contact is being made....
Could this be a software issue? The phone is rooted, can I use ADB to alter IMEI ?
Thanks in advance...

[Q] Network issue

Hello guys!
I'm asking on behalf of my friend regarding his HTC ONE M7.
The phone is running fine on WIFI but, there's an issue with the network service. It takes a while for the phone to pick up the network operator and when it is connected to the network, it shows full bar with 3g signal. The issue is that, my friend cannot make a call or browse the internet using data network. Even when he tried to check his credit balance, it would sometimes show the balance and sometimes it will display and error with "Invalid MMI code" or something. Same thing goes to making a call, sometimes he can call, sometimes he can't.
I tried to make a call from my phone to his phone and sometimes it's ringing and again, sometimes his phone can't be connected.
He flashed new ROM but the issue is still there.
Any of you guys have any idea on how to fix it?
Thanks!
change SIM

"Emergency Calls Only" please help

Hi guys,
My unrooted S3 recently, even after replacing the SIM card, is giving me an "Emergency Calls Only" status in the notification shade, and even after restarting the phone, reinserting the sim card, and locking and unlocking the sim card pin, this message still shows and it's really frustrating because I can't make calls or text messages
Can anyone help me? I desperately need help and I really don't want to replace the phone. What's even more frustrating is that my brother has the exact same phone bought at the exact same time and hasn't encountered any problems whatsoever.
Thanks
DrShellgon :fingers-crossed:
Actually I found a fix i just went to Settings > More settings > Mobile networks > Network operators and found the appropriate network and now it's working again

Can´t make/receive calls, but SMS and Data works!

Hi! I bought a T-Mobile S6 in the US and brought it to Brazil, where I flashed the MetroPCS rom (currently on DOI5).
When I flashed the MetroPCS rom I was able to unlock the phone and it was working fine but suddenly it just stopped making and receiving calls. But SMS, data and emergency call work fine. It is unlocked as it gets registered on my carrier network and I there is no problem with the IMEI (I guess... typing *#0011# show "IMEI Status : OK").
Whenever I try to make a call, it says "Dialing" and then "Call ended". When I try to call my phone, I get that "busy" signal (tu tu tu).
I already reflashed the rom, did a full wipe, factory reset but with no success.. anyone have a hint of what could be happening?
Thanks in advance!
