Notifications aren't showing on the WhatsApp icons.
Anyone else? A fix?
Is it just whatsapp or other apps too? Have you tried granting nova access to notifications in the "Notification access" menu? (additional settings/privacy/special app access/notification access)
Also you'll need to go into app settings for WhatsApp to enable "show app icon badges"
Yeah that's granted, all other badges work fine, struggling to find a reason..
Did you ever fix this? - I've just bought a mi9, and its the one thing bugging me. I just can't get the badges to work. I've tried everything, including instructions from Nova Customer Supprt - nothing works . . . . Thanks for any advice.

Good afternoon all,
OK I just started to play with LaunchPro and ADWLauncher. I like both but at the moment ADW is in the lead. I like a few of the extras in it a little better. I also installed "ADW notifications" to see the notifications on the bottom bar. I do not use K9 or the gmail app I use a google exchange account so that it integrates with my htc people (which yes I like).
In ADW I have 5 icons on the bottom (Phone, People, apps, Message, Mail). At first I thought everything was working fine. but I didnt have anything to check. Then I missed a call...... guess what a "1" appeared by the phone and people icons. GREAT!!!! then a short time later I noticed that there was a 1 next to my Messages icon.... Getting better !!!!!! .... then I sent an email to my phone so I would have it for later.... I noticed that there was a bubble by the mail icon and I thought great... but when I looked closer it was just a "?" not a number. OUCH.... that hurt. I then when and left myself a message in voicemail. I noticed that there was nothing in "Messages" either man.
I then tried goign to ADW settings and restart ADW... This just removed all notifications from the bottom bar all together.
So what am I doing wrong? How do I get a notification for a viocemail and email from exchange?
I would appreciate any help.
Regards,
SoBBie
PS I have a unrooted DInc.
You can change settings within the adw notification app itself
And boom goes the dynamite
you believe its in adw settings > General Behavior > show notifications
hope that is what you are looking for..
The mail application has a locked down database so you're only going to get a question mark for that. If you want vm notification, enable chuck Norris mode. I would advise using the whitelist feature for the additional Apps you want notifications for and reboot.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I have found that if you use the whitelist, notifications work for a little while, then they stop working.
The only way I can get continuously working notifications is to just enable Chuck Norriz Mode, and leave the whitelist unchecked.
It works, but most of the notification bubbles are sort of poison-green, even though apps like GO SMS and K-9 are both set to red bubbles.
I also wish it would do proper notifications for Google Voice.
yep, I checked the settings in ADW and the notifications are on. I also checked the settings in ADW notifications and turn everything on.
Thanks,
SoBBie
Sent from my Incredible.
I cant seem to get it working either....
I have ADW Launcher EX, There I have the option of showing the general notifications checked.
And I also have ADW notifier installed and setup...
but i'm not getting any bubbles on my icons
using a desire Z with stock rom
any one know what I'm doing wrong?
Same issue here. I have ADW Launcher EX and ADW Notifier. I enabled Notifications in ADWSettings and enabled everything in ADWNotifier. I also tried ChuckNorriz-Mode, but i cant see any bubbles.
Is there some kind of trick to get the setting to enable "notification access" for an app? In the system settings this is not available... I have root.
*Update*
After searching and trying, i found a solution for myself
You need an app that creates a shortcut to an activity.
I used Nova Launcer and created a shortcut to Settings$NotificationAccessSettingsActivity.
maybe with Xposed? i tried with an app from play store but no luck

Thank you man. I also used the Nova Launcher Shortcut. Locate it by long tapping, selecting widgets, selecting Shortcut and then scrolling down to the Settings Activity Notification Access Option.
This method also allowed me to access "Apps with usage access" using the Settings$UsageAccessSettingsActivity. Thank you!
By the way, initially I was having issues adding widgets/shortcuts to the Nova Launcher homescreens. If anyone else is having this issue, it can be solved by installing/converting Nova Launcher to a System app. Apparently this grants it some additional otherwise inaccessible permissions by default. Cheers!
Hi there,
when I lock my Mate S I eventually get notifications from threema and Whatsapp. The Threema notifications are always doubled, the exact same notification and for Whatsapp I get group notification for every single message with the sender and for the group chat with the counter of the messages.
I know from some other posts some of you have also problems like this. Has anybody found a launcher and lockscreen combination to fully disable the stock lockscreen? I currently have the Smart Launcher installed and I love it, but when you activate the lockscreen the stock lockscreen stays on top or beneath it, even when you disable it in the Themes Section of the settings.

Hide "running in the background" Notification did not fully work on my Mate 10, since in some instances I still kept getting them notifications for few seconds, however I solved this using the mentioned app with these notification settings:
1. Hide "running in the background" Notification enabled with granted Notification Access Permission;
2. When Android System notification is triggered Long press on "Android System" notification in the notification panel -> hit "More Settings" -> Disable "Allow notifications" and set "Lock screen notifications" to "Never".
After I did this my phone no longer shows Android System notifications and all other app notifications work with no issues.
not Work!!
not working here also
Os working for me. With this app I get no more notifications of background processes

Use this app and add a notification block "running in the background" make sure the checkbox for case insensitive is check.

Thank you. Worked great for running in background and displaying over other apps notifications.
i used this program
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...tification&rdid=com.joaomgcd.autonotification
I´m using Automate with this flow (http://llamalab.com/automate/community/flows/15941), that´s works for me. (no root needed)
If your device language isn´t english, simply change the string "running in the background" with other that proceeds, for example, in spanish: "se está ejecutando en segundo plano".
The trick is, Oreo lets you snooze a notification, this flow simply snooze it for a very long period of time, and reapply it if appears again.
I'm using this method .

Ok, i have a solution for the problem, no app is necessary.
Open settings
Open Apps
Click below on More
Then click on show system processes
Click on Android System
Click on Notifications
Then click on Apps running in background
And turn off Allow Notifications
That's it!
Does this work in android 10?
Hello, that is my first topic over here and I would like to ask you for help with the above-mentioned issue with notifications from MiHome app.
For about 3-4 weeks I was fighting with that issue, but now I'm totally out of any ideas.
I gave all the permissions I found for that app:
Settings->Apps->App launch->MiHome manage manually - also the 3 dots on the top right corner again manage manually and checked the 3 ticks as well
Settings->Battery - over here I have no power saving mode enabled. Again checked the App launch from that menu and the result is as above
Settings->Notifications->MiHome - enabled also in DND mode
Settings->Apps->Apps->3dots->Special access->Battery optimization->MiHome->Don't allow
In that way the app is running ok for a few days and then again all the notifications are blocked for unknown reason.
Is there someone could help, as I'm at the edge to get another phone and that is something I don't want to do?
Did you find any solution? I've been without notification for more than a year... (P30) and no hope... I think I will change to Sonoff gateway and sell my Xiaomi devices...
