slow down after long uptime? - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

Hi all,
I've been experiencing my s10 slowing down after several days of uptime. Usually about 3+ days. My available RAM sits about 1-1.2 gig free. I notice my apps reloading when I open them back up such as messages, Gmail, etc. (I only have about 4 apps opened at a time)
I have had 55 apps disabled and I have also tried no apps disabled. Anyone else experience this and have a solution to stop the apps from reloading so much after long uptime? Reboot fixes it for a few days.

Restart your phone lol. Do it daily.

Ram management of phones aren't nearly as good as pc. Another thing you can do is quit all the apps in the multi task manager.

How do you only have 1-1.2GB free of 8GB RAM? My S9 has 4GB only and I have between 1.2 and 1.4 GB free, I usually reboot my phone every 5-7 days.

Idk. It just runs out to 1g after a few days. I don't have many apps and don't leave many open. Almost all apps sleeping too

I checked my friend's S10+ and he has 3.1 GB free, he has a lot of apps including PUBG and he don't optimize his phone or put apps to sleep, I don't know what's the problem with your device.

Me either. I'm down to 1.6gb currently... I don't play any games. Just text, some internet, YouTube, Instagram. That's about it

I have not done that yet as I don't want to set up my phone again.
For now this is the package that came up during the crashes. So I cleared the data, force stopped it and reset phone. Il see if it's better over a few days.

How Long Before You Need A Reboot?

How long does it take for your O4X to start feel unresponsive and laggy (or buggy) which makes you do a soft reset?
Mmm, I usually reboot every 1-2 days just to reboot. I think, the most I've left it without reboot is 3 days, but it still was fast.
137hrs now, still snappy!

T-Mobile Galaxy S6 New Update Baseband: G920TUVU3DOI1

There is a new update that started to roll today with Baseband: G920TUVU3DOI1
Per website, indicates various bug fixes and improvements.
Have you download it? Feedback?
Anybody know if there is still root for this new updated version? How large is the update file?

Per the website 62.78 MB
Right, it is a very small update. I am installing right now. I am not rooted or anything. So i will try and give some feedback when i finish installing. But i am sure that it is going to take a few days to notice any actual changes.
There's already another thread that was created yesterday about this update. Maybe we should all stick to that one so we have a unified place for information gathering. Allegedly this update was to activate Samsung Pay, but mine still did not work. I am completely stock and unrooted. I don't care, I just want better battery (too early to tell).
A 62mb update to enable Samsung pay? Yeah that doesn't make much sense at all.

I have it installed and phone is running smooth. Haven't gotten to use the Android pay or Samsung pay yet but it looks sweet. My company is looking into getting an NFC android pay reader so I'll be looking into using it.

The update made the RAM usage little smaller, better battery and overall experience.
The only issue found when using data, sometimes it automatically turns off. I have to go to data and turn it back again... weird
With this new update this speech to text keeps freezing up.

Clear twice the app and system cache before posting this.
I have Data off, International Data On, Wi-Fi calling off, VoLTE off.
When the phone goes to sleep and the Wi-FI is disconnected (I have "Keep Wi-Fi during sleep off), when it goes off it automatically turns on the Data....
If I have the data on, it goes off automatically. I have to run it on again to use it....
I haven't found the issue what is causing this. Phone not rooted

No issues here...everything works fine.
around day 2 after the latest update i noticed my battery life seemed to be lasting longer. I noticed my "time left" quote was exceptionally high, normally quoting 25ish hours max on a full charge, this time quoting 38.
last friday was the first day of any major usage. used it more than i typically do even on fridays (sat and watched youtube videos quite a lot), with 2 20 minute charges or so, from 8:00am to 6pm it was getting heavy usage, with about 3 hours of youtube going, and at the end of hte day i was above 60%.
That had me floored as normally after a normal friday, I'd be pushing my luck for 40% even with using my portable charger, and thats without youtube.
tomorrow I'll get to give it another hard test and see if it holds up again. if it does i think i will suddenly love my phone now

No optimizing more than 90% SD Note 8

Hi, is anybody having issues with the phone not optimizing more than 90%?
The last 10 is for activating the antivirus.. Just ignore it... It is not needed. 90 is basically your 100
Try optimizing the memory and RAM manually. Also, if there's a program that it thinks you need to let sleep and haven't, it'll keep the percentage below 100.
It says right there, that if you turn on the anti-virus you will get 10 more points, so you will have your 100.

Huge system battery drain

So I left my phone at around 90% yesterday night with both WiFi and data turned off with no apps running it background and when today I woke up all my battery was drained. I did some research and people suggested to delete google play cache etc which I did. I am still wondering about the real culprit and the reason behind this.View attachment 4582529

You have the same problem that I had. (Not bad as yours...). As you can see, all the core clocks are at maximum speed, draining battery. The solution is to change the 'scaling governor' from 'interactive' to 'ondemand'... But to do so you need to unlock bootloader and root the device. I did this last night and my battery is fine now.
You could also delete the cache+data from google play services, and reboot your phone (turn wifi off!). You will not have the problem anymore (but if you switch the Wifi back 'ON' it will come back after a while).
See more abou this problem in the thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/help/frequency-sd660-stuck-maximum-t3832366

The normal cpu in iddle looks like the SS i've attached... It should increase clock when you're actually doing stuff, but, if the phone is iddle it should go back to the 'lowest' setting, which is what is currently in my SS.
And it will probably void warrenty, but I'm not sure... Good luck!
I am really surprised we are facing this issue even after having Android One. Wish I had waited and gone for Poco.

This issue was happening in pixel 2 as well, months ago... There are people here in the forum that own this device and does not have the problem... So maybe we're unlucky?

Go in the 'CPU' tab and change the 'scaling governor' from 'interactor' to 'ondemand' (you need to apply this in two itens, each item control 4 cores - its under the section "Big Governor" and "LITTLE governors") then reboot device.
Use cpu-z to confirm if the value was indeed changed.
Quick solution is to reboot. Fixes the issue but it gets triggered again! Submit a ticket on the feedback app.. a lot of people are affected by the CPU maxing out

It is just $50 more expensive and is available in India. No BS.
Xiaomi doesn't even reply to people or keep them updated like OnePlus does about the current issues and ETA of OTA.
A2 is like 230$ and poco is over 400 on gearbest for example. OnePlus yes sure they reply but they are lying all the time.
+1 , this sucks!!!

Poco will have their own bugs, don't worry.
this is Xiaomi world, good hardware, good price & lot of bugs.
I'm curious as why in CPU-Z, my processor is labeled as SD636 2.21ghz but the model is 660.
As for the cpu frequency, mine was like that until I stopped using the fingerprint and switched to trusted face.
It didn't get stuck ever since.
Now it discharges by 12% per hour without games, give it a try :good:

Hmmm, I have the 4gb/128gb version - I can see how the extra memory might make a bit of difference, especially given MIUI's bloat, but I wouldn't have expected you to experience such slow performance. I guess we're using the same EU rom. Maybe look at trying to strip out some of the bloatware? Might help a bit?
