Hey y'all, what's good. I've always noticed that Mate 20 Lite users like myself worldwide have issues with their memory cards not being read. I updated my phone to android 9.0 2 days ago & just wanna know if the update has resolved this issue. Unable to test a memory card as I'm at work & won't be leaving till the weekend.

are you on stock rom? could also be a hardware issue if happening regularly.. or card that you got new may be defected... try a card from diff manufacturer
my first one that broke was Kingston and new that broke was Patriot.
and now i just put a no name 2gb to se how it will react. will update if something new happens
and yes i am on stock rom 4.0.3 planing to update soon just looking what rom should i use German or Hong Kong.
upgrading to atleast 4.0.4 is worth a try.. also offical JB Germany is also there.
Hi all,
I have encountered a problem with my Z this weekend and this is related to the installed SD Card. Suddenly I have got the message that the SD Card was removed unexpectedly (ADATA 16GB Class 10); I have removed it from the slot and upon reinsertion, the card was not detected at all. Then, I have tried to connect it to multiple laptops and desktops in their card readers and the card was not detected at all. The only device that was able to browse the card was a GPS navigator with Windows Mobile on it. After formatting the card and recovering what I could from it (I have lost most of my photos), I reinserted it into the Xperia Z and was now working fine. My Z does not have any modifications to the file system, besides root.
Has anyone encountered similar problems? Should I expect this to happen again?
Thanks in advance!
Lost two SanDisk 32GB Class 10 on recent Sony devices. Exchanged the last broken one against a 10GB Samsung Class 10 which is running great ever since.
Cant tell if its the card, if its the device, cant be bothered either though.

Thanks for confirming this! This issue is really annoying, and I really hope that this is a software issue, not hardware. Will try to see if I can also get a microSDHC as yours.
It would be nice though to have a list of recommended microSDHC cards from different manufacturers.
For your reference:
I had exactly two of these in use (among others) in a Galaxy Note and in an Xperia T which eat two of them: http://www.toppreise.ch/prod_279035.html (Item SDSDQU-032G-U46A)
I settled now for one of these which worked in the T and now work in the Z, performance is very nice: http://www.toppreise.ch/index.php?a=244220 (MB-MSBGA)
I just saw the latter one got an upgrade and can be had for less money with a "Pro" added to it's name
Thanks for your reply! At my location I have seen the 32GB Samsung microSDHC at questionable online stores so I have to keep digging. However, I may be able to get my hands on a takeMS branded microSDHC to try it out and will report back. I guess that besides the Samsung, Sony microSDHC should work too.
My Xperia has crunched my Lexor class 10 32GB twice with the same result as above. It happens as soon as I reboot the phone - but works until reboot after reformat.
Could it be an app such as spotify that corrupts the SD card? My problems started with the latest spotify update....

Sandisk Ultra 16GB microSDHC UHS-I card
Tried a TakeMS 32GB Class10 card for a month or so and did not get any issues at all.
My problems stopped after uninstalling Spotify (in which I stored the off line files on the SD) There are lots of people in the spotify forums with similar problems, but only when using it in offline mode...

Good morning to all. Have just joined your forum - I get no help at all from the Huawei help desk for an
answer to my question , which is :-
For someone who is a technological idiot , can anyone explain if updates can have a detremental effect on
my Huawei P7 mobile phone. I've read some of the comments on this site but they mean as much to me as
an explanation of the Millenium Falcon hyperdrive unit.
I followed the advise of my phone some months ago and did an update ( to version B830 according to the
phone). Since then I've lost all the photos and the phone says the SD card is damaged although it's never
been removed or tampered with. Also various apps keep disappearing etc.
Now the phone tells me to upgrade to version B852. I asked Huawei if this would create more problems
but no reply.
Anyone able to assist ? , many thanks in anticipation.
Everytime when you'r installing new software, backup your stuff, ota or full firmware. I'v heard that B830 is pretty buggy, especially videos. Update to B852, but backup your stuff like photo and, contacts etc if you have them. About sd card, on kitkat, my sd card ejected like 50 times by itself, i replace it with new sd and no problem since then.
Hello everybody,
I had a very strange error today and I still didnt get to solve that problem:
I have a 128gb micro sc card in my Air 3G and it worked fine for more than one year.
Today I received my new mirrorless camera and tested some videos.
So I decided to extract them under Windows 10 on my Air 3G.
There an error occured, unfortunately I cant remember the correct error-number and just now I reset my windows 10.
It sais something with hardware issues and I can't write videos onto the sd card.
Other things work quite well, but no video will go to the micro sd card.
Does anybody has an idea how to fix that problem?
Thx!!
Best regards
Andreas
SM950UI (unlocked), Android 8.0.0 Android security patch July 1, 2018.
My 256Gb external SD card worked just fine before Oreo update. Recently, I received a message that the card was corrupted, and that I should reformat it, which I attempted to do on the phone, without success (kept telling me to reformat it). Shut down phone, removed SD card, attached it to PC, which also claimed it was corrupted. Formatted it again on the PC. Re-inserted into phone and powered up. It re-appeared as storage, and so I moved some programs over to it. A few days later, I noticed the apps/programs that I moved over to it were missing and checked the storage on the phone. Now it shows no existence of the SD card, corrupted or not. It's just "disappeared". The card is a Samsung one, but can't remember where I bought it (Amazon vs Ebay vs Samsung, but the last unlikely).
Any suggestions, please?
Thanks
I am having this same problem on my galaxy tab s3. Card is a 128gb Samsung brand. It worked perfectly till the update to 8.1 oreo.
Has anyone discovered the cause and a solution?
Kind Regards,
Jack
In my experience, this sd problem háppens from time to time, since I began using these cards some of them have failed in various circumstances, sometimes just ejecting and reinserting them is all it takes, well, I dont know, I have learned to accept that, in the end,, when a card fails,, it is just bad luck
Last month I just testing my 128GB sandisk to my friend's S9 plus and it went dark. No SD card detected. I don't know why or how it got damage. Never had issue with microsd, ever.
People seem to get this corrupted card message when they have a habit of just removing them without first doing the unmount sd card thing first
fd up my card with loads of important data by putting it in my note 8 too lol
I'll say that since maybe September, my Note 8 has had a lot more instances of the SD Card not showing up after a reboot. Sometimes it takes 2-3 reboots to get it to show up.
I haven't had any issues of corruption, just outright failure of the phone/os recognizing the device.
