Just reporting that the app wakeblock works perfectly on the op7p running 9.5.8 with magisk root.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.giovannibozzano.wakeblock
After installing the app, you can launch it and grant permissions.
Then install the core using the magisk mode.
That will create a magisk zip in your root directory/wakeblock folder.
Go ahead and install that zip using the magisk manager then reboot.
After the reboot, your device may hang on the bootloader unlocked screen for a while. Just force reboot it using the buttons. This is what happened to me but after the forced reboot, it was fine.
Everything should be good to go. Now you can use better battery stats to see which Wakelocks keep drain the most battery and then block them with WakeBlock!
App crashes instantly when choosing the Magisk module mode for me
Yea i went into twrp, go to your root directory or "sdcard" Found folder "wakeblock" and flashed from there.....didnt use magisk at all
Lol custom kernels like ex and the ex kernel manager let you block any wakelock. Some of the apps people use for this type of thing are seriously questionable. I don't touch them with a 39 and a half foot pole

It's too short, mate
Lol I love my life just fine, but why keep adding apps that do stuff natively? Even greenify uses more resources and battery then it saves more times then not. People wonder why they have crappy battery life

The thing with wakeblock is that it doesn't entirely block wakelock, it blocks them for a number of seconds like amplify which is more effective than entirely blocking a wakelock.

0.4.2 wakeblock version.
Oos 9.5.8
Stock recovery and stock kernel.
Magisk 19.3
Not sure why it's not working for you. You can try my magisk module but no promises it will work. Also I don't recommend trying it on any version of Oos besides 9.5.8 international non 5g.
And some of us don't want to run the custom kernel or the kernel manager app. I personally do not like the existing kernel manager apps.
Also SOT before this was about 7ish hours with 1%/h standby drain. No issues with battery. It's just fun to tinker and block useless Wakelocks plus it's an option for those that really like to mess with their phones and not just apply a theme here and there. But all the more power to you if you think that it's useless or dangerous!

Well any wakelock that was running for 30 minutes to over an hour when I block the wakelock, no longer runs period. This is using the EXKM. So, works for me and not for a few seconds
Would you recommend to use that
I did a measurement with BBS and got 0.6% drain without root or special kernels. Stock with just a few ADB tweaks. Location and wifi on.

Hello,
I am having an issue where when I try to install the Xposed installer I am not able to press the Install button. I am running a GS4 with Task650 Rom from 6/17/14. I am properly rooted and root check says I have root access. Whenever I try to install the app I am not able to press the Install button. I am not running any filters and this is a clean install. I cleared the Devlik and cache but i still have the same issue. I have tried v29, v31 and v32 and all have the same issue. Please help this is really frustrating.
Check again and make sure you're not running any screen filters or anything that draws on top of other screens.
I'm having a nearly identical issue but instead I already have xposed installer installed and I am trying to update it and also install more modules. I get to the install screen and cannot click the install button.

At least read the post above yours, and actually indicate if you've tried what it says.
I'm sorry, i assumed that was implied. I have no screen filters that i am aware of nor do i have anything active that draws on top of other screens. I am having the issue on my Galaxy note 3 running Hyperdrive RLS8 if that helps any. I am experienced but far from an expert in these matters, please tell me what you need in order to help me help myself .
That did it I went through all my apps settings and disabled draw on top for everyone. Its wierd because I have no filters installed maybe FB messanger caused that. Thank you very much for the help

You can try killing all running apps, that'll probably allow you to install the APK. (Again, I'd like to point out that this is not an issue with Xposed. It would also happen with any other APK.)

Thank you for taking the time to address my concerns. The first thing i tried was to clear all apps, and even clear the phones ram in order to make sure no other apps were bothering it. The problem seems to be related to the package installer app. Clearing active apps and ram has not helped my issue.

Problem solved, your information made me think enough to research elsewhere and find the problem. Turns out it was Echo Lockscreen app causing the problem.

To disable the draw ontop feature i used the "app opps" menu of my rom, Im using task650's rom, that allows you to disable parts of certain apps. in cm I believe its under the privacy section in settings.

I also have have Xposed by wanam v.84 istalled and I don't have any of problems you have. The only difference is model-I have T815 and deodexing zip and mods were made on base of T815 firmware. You can try to make clean installation.Reflash your stock firmware and try to istall deodexing zip with mods.
I just have the stock firmware installed from 2 days ago. It worked perfectly fine when i was on 5.1.1 (only the email native application disappeared but i could live with that) I will reinstall everything from scratch because I really like the mods and I'll report back
I reinstalled everything from zero, Here are the errors. Unfortunately , google partner setup has stopped. Unfortunately the process android has stopped. Unfortunately messages has stopped.
The whole OS become unstable and irresponsive.

Then the problem is system files.DeOdex just replacing odexed system folders with deodexed with deleted KNOX,it does not make any other modifications to system files.
Before uploading all materials to GDrive I have tested them for some several days on my T815 and got no any issues.
Would this possibly work on the T817T?

Have u installed the latest firmware update for December ?
Actually December Firmware for my mobile is pushed by my operator only last week (On Feb 18). Post that am facing same issue. Battery is draining faster.
Usually overnight battery usage of this mobile will be only 2 - 3% but after the update it drains 15% even when idle. Am trying to check with the support

Install kernel auditor and change governors to conservative or battery saver. And or shut some cores off/lower max frequency. If on nougat grab background restrictions app here on xda and kil apps that run when minimized or not opened. If you really want to go in depth grab xposed and install amplify and busybox and boot manager. You need root. If you don't have that I suggest magisk. I used to always go super user but the modules in magisk are very useful. In fact it can install xposed for you. Greenify may also help

i've also not rooted my device yet but really the latest update sucks. I don think any app is consuming batter because Samsung's Default Device Maintenance or Battery Usage will show such apps. I can see only Android default process is consuming more. Let me try Greenify else i may need to go for some custom roms..

i'm using edxposed(0.4.3.2 alpha YAHFA variant) on my XZ2 with firmware 52.0.A.8.50, when it comes to xposed modules using resource hooks the system won't boot
something similar happens when doing the same thing on oreo firmwares but there was a xposedfix patch for oreo that can fix this (both for the original xposed and edxposed)
using the oreo patch for pie would also cause booting problems

Just rooted my Pixel 3a last night running Android Q Beta 6. What are some good magisk modules that I should install to make the Pixel 3a even better? Thanks
Active Edge Mod for Pixel Devices - allows you to customize the side sensor buttons. I have it set up to the default Google assistant except when the camera is open - then it takes a picture.
Viper4 AndroidFX - there are several versions available. They all use the same driver and have the same options. The difference is is only in the GUI.
Vanced Youtube - provides ad free Youtube experience.
Advanced Charging Controller (by VR25) - allows a user to customize how and when the phone is charged. It helps prolong the battery life.
Systemless Hosts - more of a Magisk setting, but it does install this module. Allows ad blocking through Adaway or similar ad blocking app.

the active edge guy is SUPER on the ball and posts updated versions in his telegram group if you're that way inclined. but yeah youtube vanced is my only functioning module right now. i'm sure most of them will be updated for Q in the coming months.
I'm a fan of energized pro for ad blocking, but you'll need the systemless hosts and BusyBox modules for it to work. These days I root my phone mainly for ad blocking.

I don't think you need to uninstall the actual Youtube app, but you do need to uninstall any "updates" for the Youtube app. I've found that after installing the Magisk module, I can go into the Playstore and pull up the Youtube app. There will be a "uninstall updates" button where the normal uninstall button would be. However you need to install the module first. Otherwise the button will uninstall the app instead of uninstalling the updates.
That's been my experience at least.....

Here you have the APK. Install it and then the driver installation should install the magisk module.
I have the 2.7.1.0 version of Viper4Android installed and working just fine on Android 10. It was installed and working on Android 9 and it continued to work when I upgraded to Android 10. I sideloaded the .020 version of the Android 10 OTA image.
The Magisk module was last updated on May 31, 2019, so it obviously hasn't specifically been updated for Android 10. Perhaps it won't install on Android 10, but will work if upgraded from Android 9. I also have the Audio Modification Library module and the Audio Compatibility Patch module installed as well. Perhaps that makes a difference?????
