Lenovo K3 Note 5.0- How Do I check For Updates?

update lenovo k3 problem
hello !
i just bought the lenovo k3 note. i have the android 5.0 ... i wanted to check for updates but i cant find anywhere the update button.
i went to setings--about phone and nothing is there,
i tried to force search for updates by dialing *#*#blablabla*#*# and nothing happend.
how is that possible? i cant find anything related to updates in my divice !
please help
My phone downloaded a file of 855.76mb called update.zip on 25/7/2015
I don't know if I should update or not.
go to setting/about phone/system update
Some phones come with the shop suppliers rom so that update option is not available. If you want updates you'll have to flash a different rom with sp tool.
OTA update
I got a K3 note (k50-t5) which had a multi language rom (Android 5.0) with VibeUI 2.5 preinstalled from the shop.
I also had no OTA update on this device.
Given that the german translation had still some Chinese strings and I wanted to get the latest stable Lenovo rom, I searched for a rom with OTA to get OTA back on my device.
After I found www needrom com/download/k50-t5_usr_st2511_5-444-1_1503111505-lang-pk4-china-aliexpress/ I only downloaded the Lenovo OTA app to get the OTA update back and to update to VIBEUI_V2.8._1535_5.128.1_ST_K50-T5 over the air (which is the actual Lenovo rom stable with Android 5.1).
I didn't had to flash anything to do that - just installed and run the Lenovo OTA app.
BE AWARE:
If you run the OTA update you will loose the Google apps (which you can install with Google Installer app or flash a custom recovery to install the gapps after the OTA update).
AND
VIBEUI_V2.8._1535_5.128.1_ST_K50-T5 is Chinese/English only!
If you're looking for a multi language rom with OTA, you might want to use the Lenovo Indian rom or another multi language rom which you can find at www needrom com/category/lenovo/serial-k/k-50/ .
How is the phone working after the update? Any difference?

I tested it only a couple of days with the 'old' ROM. So I can't say much about any differences in features or performance.
I had no issue before the update - and have no issue since the update.
Before, it was VibeUI 2.5 Android 5.0 (Multilanguage - with some Chinese within the German translation) - and now its VibeUI 2.8 Android 5.1 (Chinese/English). But I use the Google Now Launcher for a more vanilla like UI.
I had to reinstall the GoogleApps after the OTA update (this is normal with the Chinese/English stock ROM) - you can use the 'Google installer app' for this.
And I had to download and install the Lenovo Music App again - Because the Version after the update was old and in Chinese.
I found the download link for the app here on xdadevelopers (Just search for 'Lenovo music app').
Because I 'lost' the possibility to choose 'German' as system language (so ALL apps where in English) - I used the app 'MoreLocale 2' to change the Configuration to my favorite language 'German' and the Location to Germany.
To give the app the needed permission I used the adb sdk command line tool with 'adb shell pm grant jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale android.permission.CHANGE_CONFIGURATION'.
So now I have the System in English (Settings, Notification bar, and all apps without German language support) - and all apps with German language support are in German (Playstore, Gmail, Chrome, Google+, Skype, Whatsapp, Games, and so on).
Neither root nor a custom recovery is necessary to do any of this.
update to VIBEUI_V2.8._1535_5.128.1_ST_K50-T5
after your update to VIBEUI_V2.8._1535_5.128.1_ST_K50-T5 is it support OTA or not ??
and if it is supported you can update through OTA or u have to flash stock rom again
please the links to update
thanks in advance

Options for different OS on Moto G6

Hello friends,
Is it possible to load a different OS on my Moto G6? I bought it unlocked from Best Buy about five months ago. I am just tired of all the tracking that Google does on Android. If I cannot figure out a way to make this device more privacy focused, I am probably going to switch to Apple. Someone told me to come on here and I should be able to unlock my boot loader and load a ROM? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

maybe instead of hating google you should try their search engine its quite fast and full of info ... You can try typing moto g6 or xt1925-6 followed by either the word rom or treble or gsi or hell all three will get you somewhere. Your phone is 100 percent gsi compatible but you can only use 32 bit roms which id say the best is descendant and second best is pixel experience pie wise and resurrection remix for oreo.. Dont be lazy... I have been trying to unbrick my g6 for two months and have yet to ask anything. Everything has been asked already! I got an x4 retail it is nice but the a/b partitioning is confusing

Pixel experience can't detect fingerprint sensor

Hi everyone,I've recently switched to pixel experience ROM for Moto g5 plus (Android 9).
After the first setup the ROM can't detect the fingerprint sensor and in the security settings it is not showing the option of "fingerprint security".I'm not having that log file so I can't share it here..Pls help me. @nickvanBokhorst(GtrCraft) help me...
Hello ! Are you coming from a Nougat ROM or from an Oreo ROM? When you go from android 7 to 9 you need to have your phone in Oreo base, so if you haven't flashed that zip that's probably it, you are still in Nougat base. The file is supposed to be flashed after flashing the ROM before the first boot, so try dirty flashing the ROM over you current build and before booting flash the file I'm attaching here !
Thanks. Worked like a charm!

Android One Or Costom Rom?

hey guys at present I'm using my a2 On Official Android One Rom With Bootloader unlock (camera2api) Enabled. Some Users Say that Android one rom is laggy And lot's of bugs. So I want You To suggest Me What Should I Do? Install A Costom rom On my device like (Pe or something else) Or Stay With Android One?
I recommend Pixel Experience CAF version. I'm currently using that since I got fed up with Android One updates. I have been on custom ROMs for quite some time actually. CAF version supports OTA so you don't have to flash it again with every update, camera2api is already enabled and there is a MIUI camera included, but you'll have to find a working GCam yourself though. I haven't actually experienced any bugs for now but people say there are few and those will be fixed in the next update.
Edit: Just to add a few reasons why I am against Android One since you wrote that some users reported issues with stock but not you yourself.
It all started with the September update(if I recall correctly, or maybe even earlier). The bug present in that update made the faster CPU cores lock up at maximum frequency if the fingerprint sensor is used which drained battery really quickly. It took them like 1-2 months to fix that one. Then came Pie update, a lot of stuff stopped working. The storage for some reason got really slow and clearing large app cache(especially Chrome cache) would freeze the device or even make it reboot. This is the issue they STILL haven't fixed.
With January 2019 update a lot of devices went into bootlops and got bricked. February update changed contrast of the display and made everything really bright, definitely brighter than it should have been. Now they fixed that issue in March update BUT the update bootloped/bricked some more devices again so they pulled it. Their updates have really become a joke, which is why I'm all for custom ROMs. Definitely more stable than stock.

If you are flashing Pixel Experience you don't need to flash GApps, the rest is the same from the guide.
Thnq brthr :good:
I thinking same idea for months, but i have problem that i follow countless guides from forum here but i fail every to get PE CAF or Havoc rom to mine A2. I have every time black screen problem on instaling TWRP i couple times flash 10.0.2 version via mi flash tool, lock and unlock bootloader etc.. currenty i am on stock 10.0.7 with open bootloader because of camera2api, but i wanna clear phone from all the mess wanna clear both slots and finally instal succesfuly PE CAF version. Can someone provide some guide how to do it?

Last one I got was April 1, 2019 on my XT1900-1
The latest update for the is the May 1 security update.
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/payton/official/
Using it on my Android 1 Edition and it's running very well. The March 1 update had a weird bug where the ZRAM would constantly crash slowing the phone to a crawl, no such issues on the latest update rooted with Magisk.

Hi! Is it possible to convert the reteu model (xt1900-7) to an Android 1 edition?
Thanks
I'm have the Android one edition and I just received the July security patch, if that's the updates your see referring too.
On Android One - Fi's channel (but, current sim is on T-Mobile USA) - got a system update 3 days ago and again another (2nd. one) update last night. Here are the screenshots - check & compare yours
PPW* included some system upgrade, where as the other one was a smaller Android security patch.

This could work. For a while I had run my XT1900-7 (RETEU) with XT1900-1 (RETAIL) ROMs. Everything worked except for Google Pay.
Hi, I just got July's update this morning (Moto X4 XT1900-7 RETEU)

Yes, it is possible, but OTA's will not work. Only fastboot flash full ROM every month will work (if full ROM will be available for download...)
I am getting mental with the Moto X4 xt1900-7 Reteu. What about the updates? I got this phone from Amazon Spain, but I am currentlyin Germany, the phone came with the basic 7.1.1 firmware, and got authomatically updated to 8.0.0, OPW27.2, Security Patch Level: 1 December 2017. I bought this because of the small size, and his compatibility with Lineageos, but I need the Android 9.0 Pie before installing Lineageos (this is stated in Lineagerom webpage). The update never come ...... System Update says "Your Device is Up To Date".... Frustating!!! Do you know if there is a version of Lineageos that I can install fromOreo 8.0? or can I download Android Pie for my Moto somewhere? Sorry, getting totally mental Can anybody help me please?

Solved!!! Maybe someone would be interessed about this, just posting my experience
Lineageos installation instructions say the following: Warning: Before following these instructions please ensure that the device is currently using Android 9 firmware.
My Moto X4 XT1900-7 Reteu didn´t get the Android 9 update (still no idea why), it took me 3 days looking for a way to install the update manually with no success. Then I decided to try install lineage-19.1-20221123-nightly-payton-signed.zip anyway and it worked
The process was totally smooth and extremely fast, everything seems to be working perfectly, but I would like you to know that I didn´t install any Gapps, so I can´t confirm if this could create any problem.
Thank you to XDA and all the contributors, this is a fantastic source of info
