Hi guys this is my first contribution to the Xiaomi Mi Max this is a unofficial build i have compile it yesterday its lineage OS 14.1 just fnished compiling it Yesterday !! So lets start
lineage os :LineageOS (also known as LineageOS Android Distribution and Lineage and abbreviated as LOS) is a free and open-source operating system for smartphones and tablet computers, based on the Android mobile platform. It is the successor to the highly popular custom ROM CyanogenMod, from which it was forked in December 2016 when Cyanogen Inc. announced it was discontinuing development and shut down the infrastructure behind the project

Do you have a mi MAX hydrogen bag? I want it, too.
I am a big fan of lineage os. So i would love to see an official lineage os ROM for redmi 4 and 4x. Lineage os, please make it possible.

I used to use redmi 2, we don't have official kernel, we have a ported kernel and still managed to get official lineageos

Yes we had official kernel source from xiaomi, they released it with lollipop for redmi 2 prime

This is thread will provide linux stable merged in over lineage kernel 4.9 which is released by flex1911.
NOTE: This kernel only supported for rom which is already build with kernel 4.9.

How do I use?
If you are a developer, the reference tree is located in the link above. This can either be merged into your existing kernel tree if you have one or be used as a fresh base. There are no extra features in it, just linux-stable merged in over lineage trees. But, based on the configs it enabled by default https://github.com/khusika/android_...4.9/arch/arm64/configs/tissot_defconfig#L4334

This kernel won't work with custom ROMS built with kernel 3.18. This was mentioned.

No, just flash this kernel, no dirty flashing needed for the rom, just in case you're already using rom with 4.9 kernel built.

A.: I inspired myself in Japanese mythology. These are the names of some major (and minor) Japanese kami (gods).
Q.: Will Raijin kill my pets / eat my babies if I flash it?
A.: No. I assure you no pets and/or children will be harmed if you flash it or not. Neither the kernel nor Raijin himself (the Japanese thunder god) will do you any harm.
Q.: Will this kernel work on MM / Nougat / Oreo 8.0?
A.: No. Only Oreo 8.1 and above. And who does build 8.0 ROMs anyway?
Q.: Will this kernel work on TouchWiz- / Samsung Experience-based ROMs?
A.: No. TW/SE ROMs rely on some Knox stuff I'm not willing to port at the moment (and will probably never be). Use @CaelestisZ's AetherAura kernel for that.
Q.: Can I safely use Magisk with this kernel?
A.: Yes. Some Samsung kernels are known to have issues with Magisk (excessive battery drain & overheating). That's not the case here.

No bro , author has mentioned in its thread title as well as in the main page of context , it can only be run on custom rom which is based on android pie and Q.
After all aether lite is android 7.1.1 which is based on android nougat , it is not compatible with this kernel

Kernel updated to 1.1. Works with Oreo MR1 now (hopefully). Tested with a recent LineageOS 15.1 build.
Also, for those who don't like OC, there's a Standard version available.
