I have, and I can test if you want.

I tested kernel on various pie roms.
Kernel 0.03 doesn't work - result - bootlop.
Kernel 0.15 is working, it is stable kernel.
Kernel 0.28 is working.
I have a question, is this kernel will be containing option of undervolting? I see added only one extra governor - barry_allen, more governors it will be a good direction.
Thank you for your effort.

I like undervolting. I know, it is hilarious, but in the past when I used other phones, these kernels have this option. It is a habit.
On the barry_allen phone can freezing when phone is using more than 3 minutes. On the intervative this problem doesn't exist .

waiting for hydrogen Sir...

Try flashing latest build.

I confirm, at the last version of kernel doesnt exist problem of freezing on the barry_allen governor. Anyway, more governors I please for allucard.

When published i will use for all my build !

No need. Its just act.mngr detecting your app prefetch. We are not opt3.. So disable it. Until rom dev fix it.

The problem with freezing is still exist on the barry_allen. I precise it, this problem exist with Kernel Audiutur, when you browse this application, set up configuration by more than one minutes the problem show up.

[KERNEL]CivZ SkyWalker_RF2.5rm (MAX OC 1.504GHz) for ICS / New bootloader(6/7/2013)

These kernels should work on every stock ICS LG rom or custom rom based on LG ICS rom.

Also want to thank pengus77 , ezterry, godmachine81 , Thor2002ro, Faux123,chad0989 , Pidozz
NOTE:
I'm not a DEV and not pretending to be one, I'm a android enthusiast.
I would like to thank all XDA members that are helpful.
I build and mod stuff for my personal needs and then I share them.
Do I want something in return? NO.
You don't like it, no problem, there are enough good DEV's with there kernel to help you along.
So on request I started a separate thread for this kernel , it started with my rom and the need for a good custom kernel.

I don't provide any guarantee or a lawer if your phone explode and you get accused and charged for a terrorist act.
To be clear , the kernel got the POSSIBILITY to OC and tweak , if you don't do anything it runs at stock settings.
Meaning = MAX speed 1000MHz , Noop scheduler , interactive governor= LG default settings.

su(enter)lg_swap260_on(enter) = This will enable LG 260MB swap (Reboot is needed to apply changes and sticks after reboot)
Note on LG swap: The 131Mb is default of LG
LG got this enabled in the stock LG rom and it uses the dev/block/mmcblk0p4 (unused partition) for it so not the same as ZRam that uses /dev/block/zram0 file. The LG Swap partition is enabled by default , I just add this command so if a user don't want to use the LG swap it can be done now with a single command.
Change system swappines value: (Android default is 60)
(setting are applied immediately and sticks after reboot)
Terminal command:
su(enter)swappines_0(enter) = set swappines at 0 = system waits very long to swap , Kills tasks very quick
su(enter)swappines_20(enter) = set swappines at 20 = Performance setting for gaming

su(enter)swappines_100(enter) = set swappines at 100 = Aimed for extreme multitasking , NOT GAMING
Update GPS lto
(this is done automatically with a init.d script , so in case it failed, here a way to do this manually)
Terminal command:
su (enter) gps_update (enter) = This will update gps lto file , if the file is not older then 5 days it won' t update.
Change system Fatsdormancy setting:
(setting are applied immediately and sticks after reboot)
Terminal command:
su(enter)fastdormancy_on(enter)=enable Fastdormancy = android default
su(enter)fastdormancy_off(enter)=disable Fastdormancy
Note about fastcharge option in kernel:
It is OFF at default, user needs to enable it.
Use at own risk, it is meant to use on car/plain chargers, don't know the effect in the long term.
And I don't know the effect when ussed on a PC usb connection.
The "FastCharge" app from playstore is installed in data, use it to toggle ON/OFF.
Or use the following terminal commands:
To enable it = echo 1 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/force_fast_charge
To disable it= echo 0 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/force_fast_charge
If you use fastcharge on a pc, usb will not be mounted and no data can be received or send.

I hope this is a 100% rock solid stable version and I'm truly sorry for the many releases the last few days.
I wish to bring a stable kernel so some features are reverted as wow factor is not what I look for.01-Mar-2013:
CivZ_SithLord_再见 released
Main goal 100% stable kernel with good battery life, that is why the following changes are applied:
Forced governor linked patch (Make sure both cpu's run at the same governor, even with "setcpu & antutu") thanks Ezterry.
Max OC 1500MHz with lower voltage table (see in kernel info) , this to reduce battery consumption.
Removed a bunch of governors as they caused problems in some situations (so it seemed), see kernel ifo for what is included.
LulzActive Governor (with app) , tweaked by me to be less aggressive.
02-Mar-2013:
CivZ_SithLord_再见_r2 released
Reverted voltage table to RX2.2 release as some users had problems on max OC with lower rail voltages.
I can UV with -50mV on all frequencies but that is all up to the quality of your tegra2 cpu.07-Mar-2013:
CivZ_SkyWalker_RF1.0 released
New name because the OC code totaly changed compared to SithLord.
Totally new OC code with new frequencies and very low default voltages.(Thanks to my friend ezterry)
Max = Min frequency really fixed (now it won't be stuck at 750MHz when setting max frequency below 760MHz and not just showing the value but actually applying it so now you can set screen-off max at example: 312MHz in a profile with a cpu app).
Dynamic MODE enable on the interactive governor.
Min Max cpu frequency code changed and editable in defconfig before compiling kernel(Thanks to my friend ezterry)
Compiling optimizations flags changed (again thanks to my friend ezterry)
LulzActive governor balanced settings with max screen-off frequency of 608MHz
I would like to thank all the beta testers and I hope the result is up to your expectations!
08-Mar-2013:
CivZ_SkyWalker_RF1.1 released
More aggressive lulzactive governor settings on user request
New terminal command for LG 131MB swap
New terminal command for manual updating GPS lto file
Also a SU660 version available
96ZRam disabled by default from now on (not needed in my opinion, swap already got 131Mb on unused partition, but it is still available as a option)
10-Mar-2013:
CivZ_SkyWalker_RF1.2 released
New Max OC speed of 1544MHz
2D GPU back to 400MHz OC
OC code updated
New Terminal command to increase LG SWAP to 260MB
Updated FSYNC with latest Pengus77 release
Enabled ARCH-Power
SU660 24RH version available
"civz" terminal command updated with latest commands
13-Mar-2013:
CivZ_SkyWalker_RF2.0 released
Reverted MAX OC to 1504MHz (this way I could drop rail voltages so it will stay cooler, settings of RF1.0)
New Voltage table (no 5mV steps as pengus77 mentioned the regulator doesn't except 5mV steps)
Real min voltage is now 650mV (again thanks for pengus77 pointing me this out that board power and regulator had to be modded)Best CPU control app when you want to UV is free for XDA members SETCPU , download 2.24 or buy it, SUPPORT the devs! (it allows you to type in voltage changes and not only slide), Remember only steps of 10mV are real values , if you apply a step of 25mV it will actually be 20mV. So use setcpu to type in voltage steps of 10mV , 20mV , 30mV, ..
New Governor , LionHeart , tweaked by me to be very battery friendly.
GPU 2 D & 3D scales from 300 - 450MAX . What does this mean: When you play a stressfull game it will go up to Max 450MHz if it can depending on = It scales with voltage and process ID , lower voltage/ lower stress/ lower CPU speed = lower GPU speed. I hope this is the best solution for all users and best for battery/performance.
FastCharge updated to pengus77 edition.
Kernel Panic Timeout increased to 10 so a automatic reboot can be prevented when running out of memory on multitasking.
SU660 gets all versions.
FOR RF2.0 I would like to thank Pengus77 for his contribution on the voltage control and the updates of FSYNC and FastCharge.
I would also like to thank my good friend ezterry and godmachine81 for the OC code and GPU code.
Next I thank all my beta testers for the info and stressing there phone.

3D Clock scales max to 425MHz.
2D clock scales up to 400MHz max (only when needed in heavy load)
USB connection delay patch
Fastdormancy terminal command
29-Mar-2013:
CivZ_SkyWalker_RF2.3rm released
gspca_main.ko module moved to optional modules
Stripped of all debugging = Lighter and optimized code
Fixed some code errors while compiling
06-Jul-2013:
CivZ_SkyWalker_RF2.5rm released
SetCPU 3.1.0 and higher reverted voltage fixed so on older versions of setCPU this kernel won't report correctly.
Note on LG SWAP increase:
Remember that on stock LG rom the default LG swap is 131MB. If you change kernel that doesn't got this terminal option and you changed the swap size or disabled it , no problem the swap commands are installed in system/bin so if you didn't delete them you can always use it. This does not count for other terminal command that come with the kernel.
Side note on USB BSOD
It is very random and still not 100% solved.
I noticed that with enabled Dynamic FSYNC or a to high OC it can still occur.
Just turn on your screen before connecting to pc and safe yourself a battery pull.

Side note:
Kernels comes as a boot.img = ramdisk with zImage.
Reason is that I made some changes in ramdisk. , init.d support.......
The meaning of this kernel is if you don't OC you get supurb battery life and 100% stability. If you start changing default governors and schedulers it will and can have a effect on battery life and OC to much with to much UV it will get unstable.
I recommend 1.2-1.3GHz for 24/7 use and not more. Governors can have a great effect on battery life. The flexibility in the kernel is there for the user to pick his/her favorite setting.

Did some benchmarks.
All with 50mV UV and lulzactive /row
1000 MHz = 7002 points
1200MHz = 7480 points
1504 MHz = 8701 points
That is like 99% the same as RF1.0
Don't only look at benchmarks , look at user experience.
RF2.0 is a lot more balanced then 1.0

CivZ_SkyWalker_RF2.0-b released
New terminal commands to control the swappines
LG terminal command name change !!!
civz command updated
The rest of the kernel is 100% the same!
How does it work: (so you got some inside info , please also take a look into the zips bin files for the people that want to learn a little more , this way you get a better understanding of what it does when you type in the commands)
A sysctl.conf is installed in system/etc
When you type in the command , the sysctl.conf is edited to hold the value for after a reboot
the vm swappines is changed when you typed in the command so it is applied immediately and it sticks after reboot.
If you should delete the sysctl.conf in system/etc for some reason the swappines will return to android default of 60.

PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THE NEW TERMINAL COMMANDS AS SOME CHANGED BY NAME!
Kernel control options to use with Terminal: (Settings are applied immediately and stick even after reboot now)
Enable/Disable LG 131MB SWAP or 260MB SWAP: (131MB is LG default)
Terminal command:
su (enter) lg_swap_of (enter) = This will disable LG swap (Reboot is needed to apply changes and sticks after reboot)
su (enter) lg_swap130_on (enter) = This will enable LG 131MB swap (Reboot is needed to apply changes and sticks after reboot)
su(enter)lg_swap260_on(enter) = This will enable LG 260MB swap (Reboot is needed to apply changes and sticks after reboot)
Change system swappines value: (Android default is 60) (setting are applied immediately and sticks after reboot)
Terminal command:
su(enter)swappines_0(enter) = set swappines at 0 = system waits very long to swap , Kills tasks very quick
su(enter)swappines_20(enter) = set swappines at 20 = Performance setting for gaming
su(enter)swappines_40(enter) = set swappines at 40 = Performance setting and some multitasking
su(enter)swappines_60(enter) = set swappines at 60 = Androids default , balanced setting
su(enter)swappines_80(enter) = set swappines at 80 = Aimed for multitasking/Balanced
su(enter)swappines_100(enter) = set swappines at 100 = Aimed for extreme multitasking , NOT GAMING

Mr.Civato only build kernel for ICS based ROM which uses NEW BL, So I guess the answer would be "NO"
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda app-developers app
Can't wait to get my hands on this update, really a big thank you to Sir Civato for including SU660,
Is there a possibility to have a none overclocked kernel for GPU sir?
P.S. Im still on 1.2 and it gave me no problems and this is the first time my device performed at its best on the battery and performance perspective. Can't wait to update 1.2 to 2.0b with FLEX_ICER!
I LOVE YOU Civato!!
really glad you're breathing life to this lonely ghost town.
My Set-up:
Flex_ICER 4.6
SkyWalker 2.0b
default freq
lionheart -50UV

gaming/surfing and overall performance is superb!
I can't really give relevant feedback regarding Battery Life since I'm a heavy DATA user.
Screen Off:
216-312mhz

powersave gov.
it sleeps but not die
This is sick! Great job! I hope next release you'll add smartassv2.

* Busfreq up & down threshold control
Stock / SkyHigh default = 23
* Busfreq (memory) voltage group
default group = 1 (stock)
available group options 1 > 7
L0 = 400 L1 = 267 L2 = 160 MHz
1 > {1150000, 1050000, 1050000} SkyHigh default / stock
2 > {1125000, 1025000, 1025000}
3 > {1100000, 1000000, 1000000}

6 > {1025000, 950000, 925000}
7 > {1000000, 925000, 900000}
* Set L2 bus (memory) speed from 133 > 160 MHz
- Default MHz now:
L0 = 400
L1 = 267
L2 = 160 MHz / 1000 mV (stock = 133 MHz / 950 mV)
* Adaptive vfs_cache_pressure on suspend / resume
Hard coded values :
- Set @ 10 = save battery on device suspend
- Set @ 60 = better smoothness on device resume
Low vfs_cache pressure values save battery while idle, while a low value also causes stutter with longer up times.
* Governors
pegasusq = SkyHigh default (siyah kernel version & "freq for responsiveness" tweaked to 500 MHz by me)
HYPER
scary
wheatley
abyssplug
lulzactiveq (siyah kernel version & tweaked by me)
lazy
hotplug
ondemand
performance
ZZMoove 0.7d
* IO schedulers
SIO = SkyHigh default
ROW
VR
NOOP
Deadline
CFQ
* SOUND CONTROL via ExTweaks app
* Thunderbolt scheduler IO Tweaks [pikachu01]
* Implemented kernel to report USB trickle charge (previously just reports discharging).
- Those devices without modified SystemUI.apk will now show battery charging animation whilst on USB power source
* Force USB charging source to be detected as AC
- faster USB charge using same circuitry
- limited by:
1. charging source max output
2. kernel - up to max 1500 mA (same is actual AC)
* Auto set init.d scripts to 777 – no need to manually set script permissions, just drop in & reboot
* Reduced GUI lag
- Frandom
- fstrim lagfix - NOT ENABLED BY DEFAULT
- Disabled gentle fair sleepers
- RAM management OOM adj & minfree values from V6SuperCharger
* Improved touch-screen sensitivity (on both battery and charge)
* Mount partitions NOATIME and NODIRATIME by default
* R/W and auto-mounting of exFAT USB-OTG & external sdcard using official Samsung Open Source modules v1.2.5
* modded ROM /system/etc/vold.fstab to permit exFAT mounting
* NTFS R/W OTG file system support (require app to mount)
* UDF/ISO file system support - BluRay (require app to mount) - not tested !
* Network filesystem support
In-built CIFS
In-built NFS (not tested)
* TCP algorithms
- cubic = default
- reno
- westwood+ (some users of other devices have reported faster network throughput speeds)
* In-built zRAM support
* LZ4 compression implemented & enabled for zRAM [psndna88 & Yank555.lu]
* Support paging of anonymous memory (Swap)
* General optimized for size
* Kernel compression = xz
* Support for iPad, iPhone, iPhone_3G/S, iPhone_4/4S, iPhone_5 (not tested as I don't own "rotten fruit" )
* UV motor -100 mV (3.1V → 3.0V)
* UV LED -100 mV (3.2V → 3.1V)
* fbearlysuspend control - allow CRT-off animation in SUPPORTED ROMs)

FAQ & HELP
FAQ & HELP
MY RECOMMENDATIONS
* Governor = pegasusq, lulzactiveq, or ZZMoove
* IMO = Performance → → Battery
1. on-demand
2. pegasusq (snappy, but easier on battery than on-demand)
3. lulzactiveq
4. ZZMoove
* Scheduler = SIO
* CPU freq = 200-1400/1600 MHz
* CPU vdd levels = SkyHigh "defaults"
* Enable zRAM for better mulitasking
* CPU Control app = ExTWeaks
Don't forget to use only one Control app at a time. They will conflict !
ISSUES?
1 Remove any kernel related init.d tweaks, 3rd party performance type apps etc
2 Wipe your CPU control app(s) data (menu > settings > applications > "your control app(s)" > clear data/cache)
3 Use only ONE CPU control app ! USE EXTweaks
4 Open SuperSU app > settings > full unroot (or unroot from with EXTweaks options)
5 Boot into recovery and wipe cache & dalvik cache
6 Re-flash SkyHigh Kernel
7 If requested by recovery - DO NOT install root (let the kernel do it)
9 Reboot
8 If still issue such as bootloop etc, try using MPLL mode for GPU, and or increase GPU voltages +50 mV
9 Try a kernel "legacy" versions
10 Back to stock for you
RANDOM SCREEN TINT AFTER CHANGING GOVERNOR
* Turn screen OFF-ON
* Use only SkyHigh defaults values
* Don't use a CPU control app to change kernel settings - Use init.d script instead
* OR IF IT BOTHERS YOU,...... DON'T USE THE KERNEL
zRAM
Info here : (INFO)What is zram and how does it work???
LOGS

PREVENT/REDUCE SCREEN-OFF FLICKER FOR CRT-OFF ANIMATION ENABLED ROMs

* Set to 0 if you haven't any CRT-off animation mod
DYNAMIC MANAGEMENT OF DIRTY PAGE WRITEBACKS
* [Christopher83]
This feature allows to have two different intervals for dirty page
writebacks and to dynamically manage them when the system has been
resumed (it's active) or when has been suspended.
Three new procfs parameters are exposed inside /proc/sys/vm path:
- dynamic_dirty_writeback is the activation status of this feature,
set 1 to enable it, set 0 to disable it and use the standard behaviour
- dirty_writeback_active_centisecs is the interval for the dirty page
writebacks when the system is active (screen on)
- dirty_writeback_suspend_centisecs is the interval for the dirty page
writebacks when the system is suspended (screen off)
This feature is in part inspired on Francisco Franco's patch:
https://github.com/franciscofranco/mako/commit/34d79548cf16b69c7d0154836018e7f258a22947

WHAT IS A CUSTOM KERNEL
* First of all, watch this : Android Basics 101: Understanding Kernels – XDA Developer TV
* Is usually' modified and complied from source.
* My very first successfully compiled kernel just included the "SkyHigh" name. I suppose you could call that a modified "stock" kernel. On the other hand, you could also argue that any firmware modified from either official or built from sources could be called "custom".
HAVE THE STOCK KERNELS ATTACHED BEEN MODIFIED
* If you are referring to the stock MD3 kernels in Post #2, NO
* I just extracted the zImage from official firmware and repackaged for flashing via custom recovery or Odin. There are no changes made to the zImage. I have no plans to modify these.
ENTROPY
* MAX pool sixe 4096
* It's not instant, just use your device and it will grow.
* No need for entropy generator apps that consume battery (use extra CPU cycles)
WHAT ARE GOVERNORS / SCHEDULERS ETC
* Excellent source of info by droidphile :
[REF][TWEAKS] Kernel Governors, Modules, I/O Schedulers, CPU Tweaks, AIO App Configs
FSTRIM LAGFIX
* fstrim is more of a maintenance binary. Android 4.2.2 and below are more prone to lag over time and prevalent as your internal storage is used up.
* Trims system, preload, data & cache partitions
* fstrim binary set to run by init.d 90lagfix script after boot to reduce impact on boot time
* A manual reboot once a week is suggested. Those users who have ample internal storage and or recently formatted their partitions via ROM flash or Nandroid restore may see little difference for now.
* More info : Google yourself or Nexus Storage Performance Over Time & TRIM 20130829
CUSTOM BOOT ANIMATION SUPPORT
1. copy bootanimation.zip to /system/media/ folder (mount folder r/w to paste)
2. ensure set permissions rw-rw-rw-
3. reboot
NOTE :
* For any further help or instructions for bootanimation, please open your own forum Q&A thread or post in a relevant bootanimation thread. There are many already built and can be found by searching.
* The size we need for our tab is 800x1280 or 1280x800 (depending on portrait or landscape)
CUSTOM BOOT SOUND SUPPORT
* Place custom boot sound PowerOn.ogg in /system/media
* To mute, create an empty file named mute in /system/media
* To unmute, create an empty file named unmute in /system/media
* To restore original boot sound, create an empty file named ori_sound in /system/media
* Reboot device after each process
NOTE :
* when creating a custom boot sound, make sure you use a capital "P" and "O" in PowerOn.ogg
* I will not provide a tutorial for creating boot sounds, you can Google yourself
BENCH-MARKING
Freeze or Re-Boot
1 Try increase CPU 1600 Mhz voltage by +25 mV or +50 mV. I would not recommend any more than that !
2 Lower CPU OC back to stock max 1400 MHz setting
3 To find out which frequency cause the freeze :
a) If you have UV the CPU and the device freeze, obviously you need to increase the voltage to a particular frequency step(s)
b) Do a stress test with SetCPU (or other app) and lock your max frequency for each step (DO NOT SET ON BOOT WHILST TESTING)
4 Try a different governor
5 Use a different benchmark app/tool
AnTuTu Crashes?
* Try another benchmark app !
Low Bench-Marking Scores
* Consectutive tests as well as OC may heat the CPU high enough where thermal limiting occurs. Well here you go........... I observed my CPU regularly drop to 800 MHz after hitting a thermal limit during testing.
Here's the proof !
https://github.com/UpInTheAir/P6800_JB_SkyHigh_Kernel/blob/master/arch/arm/mach-exynos/mach-px.c
Code:
#ifdef CONFIG_EXYNOS4_SETUP_THERMAL
/* below temperature base on the celcius degree */
struct s5p_platform_tmu px_tmu_data __initdata = {
.ts = {
[COLOR="Red"].stop_1st_throttle = 61,
.start_1st_throttle = 64,[/COLOR]
.stop_2nd_throttle = 87,
.start_2nd_throttle = 103,
.start_tripping = 110,
.start_emergency = 120,
.stop_mem_throttle = 80,
.start_mem_throttle = 85,
},
.cpufreq = {
.limit_1st_throttle = [COLOR="Red"]800000[/COLOR], /* 800MHz in KHz order */
.limit_2nd_throttle = 200000, /* 200MHz in KHz order */
* With some undervolt and governor tuning, little OC impact will be felt on battery. Not everyone fixes their CPU to max with performance governor so, providing your hardware can handle it, some OC should be OK for everyday use as the CPU only briefly scales to max freq with the 'right' governor.
* As you can see, this could be easily changed to allow (cheat) in benchmarks. This won't make much difference to everyday use, but IMO shouldn't be touched. My silicon may not handle it
RESET CUSTOM FLASH COUNTER
*There is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 flash counter introduced for P6800 JB 4.1.2 DXMD3, so any modified ROM, kernel or recovery flashed via PC Odin will increase the counter.
1. Have installed my P6810/P6800 SkyHigh kernel for JB 4.1.2 (patched for triangle away compatibility)
2. Install triangle away app v3.26
3. Reset counter
4. Reboot as requested
5. To check > open app again, or, power off and enter download mode
* Your custom ROM, kernel, recovery & root remain intact
Anything else, IF I find the time

Nice!
I was planning to do this for sometime but I'm stuck at other things. I have already prepared the config for 6810 and i815. If you have time, I can send you those files to build the kernel for p6810. Hoping it will help you creating a custom stock rom for p6810 before Samsung!
Thanks again for contribution to our community! :good:

Sounds great. Thanks !
Much easier to build and test with device in hand, so hoping for the official P6810 JB update soon. Although appreciate what you bring to the community with JB, If Samsung haven't released it in the next month, probably sell the tab for the "next big thing", as long as it's 7 or 8 in...... My 9 yo boy wants the tab though, so things could still change

already flashed.
booting : ok
overclock to 1600: work
set pegasusq governor: work
will try to uv and report.

Already sent the link in PM. It should work with the latest JB source for 6800.
Good luck and let's hear more good news!

Got it.
Thanks.
I'll just keep chipping away at the development until I have to go away to work again,.... probably early next month.

Hi, move to see that our device is not given up by developers
One request: after moving to JB I noticed that the sound is much lower in JB. Is it possible to fix it?

Probably a way. In the mean time, take a look at this thread for SGS4 and see if it's applicable to your device....
Maybe with just a few minor adjustments, you can tweak from within your own ROM. Worth a look.

Hi, how about NTFS filesystem support? I put via OTG usb flash drive 32gb formated as NTFS and tab can't recognize drive.
ROM is eRobot v1.0 and kernel is SkyHigh Kernel v0.7. May be i don't make some settings?

Firstly, does it work with your external sdcard formatted as NTFS ?
Secondly, Try USB OTG Helper app from Google Play and see if you have any luck mounting the USB stick.
Third, does it work with the stock kernel? You haven't said as I requested in OP...

Source : GitHub
I am now complying with the GPL and have managed to make the source/changes available for everyone to see.
Took a while, but eventually managed to upload and commit to GitHub.
Link now in OP
Now back to developing............
Edit: having a few git issues......
Edit2: Have gitHub back and correct. Just learning the basics and now lost some dev time because of it............. off to bed, always tomorrow

Sweet !
Have you stress test each step to ensure stability?
You will need to lock the max frequency to that of each step, make sure it is NOT "set on boot" (during testing), so you can recover easily if device freeze or reboot occurs.
As a previous user didn't bother to give any further feedback on the NTFS, could someone using this kernel please check this:
1. Run Android Terminal Emulator app
2. su
3. Allow Superuser permission
4. lsmod
( the "l" is a lower case "L" )
What do you have? Please post a screenshot.
Also, check system/lib/modules for ntfs.ko
Cheers

FAQ & HELP
FAQ & HELP
MY RECOMMENDATIONS
* Governor = pegasusq, lulzactiveq, or ZZMoove
* IMO = Performance → → Battery
1. on-demand
2. pegasusq (snappy, but easier on battery than on-demand)
3. lulzactiveq
4. ZZMoove
* Scheduler = SIO
* CPU freq = 200-1400/1600 MHz
* CPU vdd levels = SkyHigh "defaults"
* Enable zRAM for better mulitasking
* CPU Control app = ExTWeaks
Don't forget to use only one Control app at a time. They will conflict !
ISSUES?
1 Remove any kernel related init.d tweaks, 3rd party performance type apps etc
2 Wipe your CPU control app(s) data (menu > settings > applications > "your control app(s)" > clear data/cache)
3 Use only ONE CPU control app ! USE EXTweaks
4 Open SuperSU app > settings > full unroot (or unroot from with EXTweaks options)
5 Boot into recovery and wipe cache & dalvik cache
6 Re-flash SkyHigh Kernel
7 If requested by recovery - DO NOT install root (let the kernel do it)
9 Reboot
8 If still issue such as bootloop etc, try using MPLL mode for GPU, and or increase GPU voltages +50 mV
9 Try a kernel "legacy" versions
10 Back to stock for you
RANDOM SCREEN TINT AFTER CHANGING GOVERNOR
* Turn screen OFF-ON
* Use only SkyHigh defaults values
* Don't use a CPU control app to change kernel settings - Use init.d script instead
* OR IF IT BOTHERS YOU,...... DON'T USE THE KERNEL
zRAM
Info here : (INFO)What is zram and how does it work???

PREVENT/REDUCE SCREEN-OFF FLICKER FOR CRT-OFF ANIMATION ENABLED ROMs

DYNAMIC MANAGEMENT OF DIRTY PAGE WRITEBACKS
* [Christopher83]

ENTROPY
* MAX pool sixe 4096
* fstrim binary set to run after boot
Code:
#ifdef CONFIG_EXYNOS4_SETUP_THERMAL
/* below temperature base on the celcius degree */
struct s5p_platform_tmu px_tmu_data __initdata = {
.ts = {
[COLOR="Red"].stop_1st_throttle = 61,
.start_1st_throttle = 64,[/COLOR]
.stop_2nd_throttle = 87,
.start_2nd_throttle = 103,
.start_tripping = 110,
.start_emergency = 120,
.stop_mem_throttle = 80,
.start_mem_throttle = 85,
},
.cpufreq = {
.limit_1st_throttle = [COLOR="Red"]800000[/COLOR], /* 800MHz in KHz order */
.limit_2nd_throttle = 200000, /* 200MHz in KHz order */
Anything else, IF I find the time
.
A few things to do yet to bring it on par with the P6800 SkyHigh kernel.
ie. exFAT, init.d (think not working), custom bootanimation & sound support, some more tweaks etc
Edit: forgot to mention, frandom is only 1/2 way there. Removed from initramfs SkyHigh install script as well. Will look into it in good time.
Please be patient, I have other things to do
Thanks so much! Will flash asap.

Many thanks UpInTheAir..
You're the only reason my P6810 is not for sale.:highfive:
Thank you very much
Just for a change, been having a play around cooking a test ROM and mods. Been a while since I've done that, but it's like riding a bike, little shaky a first, but never forget. I have no plans for the ROM.
Will take a look at this kernel again tomorrow. Expect an update in the next day or so.

Update on development.
Update on development.
Looks like the next update could be a little longer than hoped.
Have managed to get just about everything working same as current P6800 kernel (plus implementing fstrim lagfix on boot),.......
EXCEPT USB-OTG keeps constantly mounting/unmounting. Have not found the exact cause yet, and is something to do with the initramfs SkyHigh.sh install script or maybe the init.rc entry to initiate it.
I have compiled 20-30 kernels today, time for a break.......

* Updated to SuperSU 1.65 & binary v1.61 (installs only if you don't have any)
* fstrim lagfix on boot (trims system, data & cache) - slows down reboot, but who cares, aren't we more concerned with using device?
* Frandom now working
* Fixed all initramfs mods & tweaks
* init.d support & set to 777
* Thunderbolt IO scheduler tweaks
* Power saving & virtual memory tweaks
* Increased windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec from 90 to 200
* External sdcard read ahead cache set to 1664 KB
* Custom boot animation support
* Custom boot sound support
* Removed some module debugging
* Force close freeze fix
TO-DO
* Lots

* fix for the CPU scaling above max set frequency (thanks Yank555.lu)
* 18-step CPU : add 1700 & 1800 MHz CPU OC options (for battery & stability, not recommended above 1600 MHz)
* zRAM (still off by default)
use two CPU's (zram0 & zram1)
zRAM tweak* decrease IO latency
* mount partitions NOATIME and NODIRATIME by default
* add sysfs interface to enable / disable thermal throttle (default on) – be careful here, do you want to melt your CPU?
* tweak default xz compression ratio for slightly faster boot speed
* +25mV for all CPU freq 100-1400 MHz - stock levels now (you can UV yourself)
* disable gentle fair sleepers - improve UI responsiveness
* disable linux printk & add sysfs interface to enable / disable
* enable Westwood+ TCP algorithm (default still cubic) – some testing by other users show an increase a network throughput – test for yourself and share results!
** initramfs changes
* Virtual memory & kernel tweak values from V6SuperCharger - [email protected]
vm.oom_kill_allocating_task=0
vm.panic_on_oom=0
vm.vfs_cache_pressure=10
vm.overcommit_memory=1
kernel.panic_on_oops=0

* RAM Management values from V6SuperCharger - [email protected]
tweak LMK OOM adj & minfree values (512HP Super UL)
much reduced lag as current apps aren't starved of memory when android LMK kills off background apps
slightly less mutli-tasking
SkyhIgh default :
adj = 0,3,6,10,12,15
minfree = 2048,3584,19200,23040,24320,32000 (8-14-75-90-95-125 MB)
* init.d support moved to end of script
* fstrim lagfix - fixed having to reboot twice after enable ".lagfix_on". Just create the file in internal sdcard and reboot ONCE
* auto set init.d scripts to 777 – no need to manually set script permissions, just drop in & reboot

BETTER BATTERY LIFE
There are no best settings. User "HABIT" is #1 cause of battery drain, followed by screen, ROM & apps, modem etc
This kernel is built to be balanced with a good mix of battery whilst keeping performance
Decrease screen brightness
Use dark wallpapers and app themes
Check your wakelocks with better battery stats app & use Greenify app to stop unwanted apps self starting and running in the background
Suggest:
CPU GOV: governor = ondemand (tweaked for power efficient workqueues)
CPU FREQ: 200 > 1900 MHz (-25 mV for all)
Synapse: CPU MULTICORE: Hotplug CPU UP boost = 30 %
GPU: 100 > 480 MHz (-50 mV for all) (100 MHz may induce some GUI sluggishness)
GPU: Midgard Power policy control = coarse_demand
GPU: Midgard Power policy threshold control = Battery (may induce some GUI sluggishness)
PowerSuspend Driver = Enable
MEMORY: Dynamic FSync = Enable
MEMORY: Dirty Page Writeback = Enable
CPU Multicore Power Saving = (2) Agressive
BETTER PERFORMANCE
DO NOT POST ANY BUG REPORTS REGARDING SOD, FREEZE or REBOOT WHERE YOU (USER) HAS CHANGED ANY VOLATGE OR FREQUENCY FROM DEFAULT !!
Disable DVFS with [APP][Android 4.0+][DVFS Disabler]
Warmer device under heavy load, but within the safe CPU temp of 95 degC
Synapse: CPU FREQ: 500 > 2000 MHz (2100 not stable for some devices)
Synapse: CPU MULTICORE: Power Efficient WQ = disabled
Synapse: CPU GOV: use Interactve governor
Synapse: GPU: set Midgard Power policy threshold profile to Ondemand or Performance. This will scale your GPU up/down faster at the expensive of battery life compared to Battery profile.
Synapse: GPU: GPU max freq = 533 MHz (more if your device is stable)
Synapse: MEMORY: UKSM = enabled
Synapse: ADVANCED: LMK profile = aggressive
GPU THESHOLD CONTROL
Set Midgard Power policy threshold profile (This determine how your GPU freq scales up/down):
Battery = battery friendly
Ondemand = Good all-round mix
Performance = A little agressive
Method:
Ensure you apply [] any changes to MIN / MAX GPU freq or GPU GOV Threshold profile
PRESS THE "Apply GPU GOV SETTINGS" button !!
Settings will be applied immediately and auto set on every boot.
HOW TO BACKUP YOUR STOCK KERNEL BEFORE FLASHING SkyHigh KERNEL

No, many features and options won't be available. Remove all other control apps to avoid conflicts !
Synapse is the recommended and has everything you need
HOW TO MONITOR LIVE CPU & GPU VALUES
CPU load & freq - available RAM - GPU freq - CPU temp - most resource intensive process
[APP][2.1+] Cool Tool
Download my personal cooltool_presets > unzip & copy folder to INTERNAL sdcard. If you have cool tool app already running, you must disable > overwrite existing folder > enable
LITTLE CORE CPU FREQUENCY
Real frequency is apparently double that reported by other apps
Example: min 200 MHz (real) in Synapse is reported as 100 MHz in SetCPU
RANDOM REBOOT
Don't UV or UC CPU or GPU
Use SkyHigh defaults
DOWNLOAD LINK NOT WORKING
I want to keep this project all in one place (Thanks to XDA) - ☆☆ NO MIRRORS ☆☆
Please try again in a few minutes
POOR CPU/GPU BENCHMARK or GRAPHICS PERFORMANCE
Allow the device to cool. Repetitive testing will heat the device hardware and invoke thermal throttling and lead to decreased benchmark.
HIGH CPU/GPU OC >> excessive heat >> thermal throttling >> reduced clock frequency >> DECREASE PERFORMANCE
DO NOT KILL PROCESSES
This feature allows the user to define processes and system processes white-lists filled with the preferred process names and to not be killed by lowmemorykiller, unless it is absolutely necessary.
When a the lowmemorykiller needs to free ram, it will first kill the processes not included inside the two process name lists chosen by the user.
If there are no more standard killable processes, then it will be necessary to kill one of the processes included inside one of the two white-lists, to prevent system hangs, slowdowns, etc.
You can find the [SkyHigh/Synapse] folder on your internal sdcard and add one process name per line. Lists updated on reboot.
Max 25 processes
Example only:
Code:
com.ea.games_r3_row
com.quoord.tapatalkxdapre.activity
DYNAMIC MANAGEMENT OF DIRTY PAGE WRITEBACKS
* [Christopher83]

SEGMENTATION FAULT
I don't believe it's kernel related, but rather busybox
Try uninstall your ROM busybox with this app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox and reboot.
Re-flash kernel
Use the busybox that comes with the kernel located in /sbin
Also try to update your SuperSu and su binary if it asks and reboot.
USB KEYBOARD / MOUSE
Base project: https://github.com/pelya/android-keyboard-gadget
Required app: USB KEYBOARD
For best results, enable & use Hacker's Keyboard
Steps:
Ensure device USB debugging
Connect device to system via USB cable
Enable in Synapse > USB > USB Keyboard / Mouse >> Enable & apply
Start USB KEYBOARD app
BATTERY SCALING CALIBRATION - FUEL GAUGE RESET
Tap [Fuel-Gauge reset] in synapse BATTERY section
Reboot device
Battery % "reporting" calibration (digital)
a) Deplete battery to 5-10% (NOT ZERO)
b) Charge UNINTERUPTED until FULL (don't touch)
c) Unplug and then use normally. Device should then re-calibrate itself

Hi @UpInTheAir
I just had a small question you firmware is based on the ANG2. (CHN) right I had the ANFB. On a T800 wifi with stock rom I didn't like the other roms so far but I want to try your firmware not sure if flashing yours can break my tab . Do you had any subjections?
Thanks for sharing your work

No, source is Japan.
The ramdisk is ANG2 from China.
I don't have a 10.5" device so can't really comment except try for yourself. If you're worried, just back up your data (titanium backup app) before hand along with boot.img for your device (TWRP) to exSdCard. The kernel may or may not work properly on older firmware such as FB etc. Up to user to try for yourself.

Thanks mate I will try tomorrow morning thanks
Hi
I tried it, and to be honest, I don't feel any improvement currently, I guess I need to use it some days to check.
I tried Antutu Benchmark, just to see... No matter settings I try in Synapse, default, or boosted CPU/GPU, results are lower with SkyHigh kernel.
~34500 with Stock Kernel
~33000/33500 with SkyHigh Kernel
Thank you

You might need to read Post #3 again, and the last few pages of the 8.4" kernel thread regarding heat and throttling.
I have said before that we might need newer source and I can't do magic with that. My older firmware + SkyHigh kernel (older source) scored 36200 standard AnTuTu (edit: just with GPU OC) but I don't really care. I don't live for the benchmark, and I certainly don't see any negative impact on general use
There are other features to the kernel, and if they don't suit user needs, I've included the stock kernel for download
Other than that, we just need to wait to better firmware and source.
I did read the #3 post, don't worry I was not trashtalking
Of course I see there is other interesting features
Again, thank you for your work

I realize that, no worries Just edited previous post.....
This newer firmware just runs hotter with older & newer kernel source. Throttling is induced earlier > decreased benchmark performance. Maybe a newer ROM or kernel source will help, time will tell.

I don't have the time or desire to expand on the commitments I have already (particularly for yet another device I don't use). There is no "porting", but would need complete build and patch from source for your own hardware .......

That's the .cfg file for the Uber kernel. It includes all the configurables. It looks like he's using the default values except for the CPU governor.

What exactly is the point of this thread???
Not everyone is going to run what you have on your phone and a lot of people use ART.
All I see is OP looking for imaginary internet points for his post..
Useless post is useless.
Benchmark thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47004928
Battery thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47053220
Use the above thread to post this.
Don't create another thread simply because your friends "fell in love" with your set up.
And please use this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49133262 if you want to post random crap no one cares about.
Umm congrats?
