hey.
i want to purchase the chinese version of mi 8 and i wanted to know if it is possible by now to flash the global rom (official of couse) without unlocking the bootloader?
Sorry It´s not possible:
With locked bootloader it´s just: chinese phone -> chinese ROM
if you unlock and install global, you must keep it unlocked or it won´t boot (soft brick).
I know this may be a stupid question but I'm looking to unlock the bootloader of my mi 8 global variant because I want to try a few different custom ROMs but I don't know if I will be able to relock the bootloader if I want to go back to the original Xiaomi firmware?
Any help will be appreciated
I heard flash back will brick the phone
Unlock china version and re-lock with global/xiaomi.eu/custom bricks the phone.
Yeah you should be fine to relock if it's a global device.
But I think you'll also have to wait another 360h or more to unlock it again
Global Version can relock!
Global Rom bricked the Device if you Relock it!
Must i wait if i would lock a relocked Global Version? Or can I use the Mi Account instead?
Is it possible to install the Xiaomi.EU's ROM on the Mi 9 EEA?
Sorry if this has been asked before, just making sure.
Yes
With an unlocked bootloader, yes.
Let my highjack the topic [emoji3], and is it possible to go back and relock bootloader if needed?
I'm so satisfied with stable EEA, that already passed 360h and still have official stable and locked BL.
Still can't figure out if it's worth the change...

If you mean going back to EEA and relocking, then you can with MiFlash and flashing the fastboot ROM and having relock bootloader ticked.
I flashed latest xiaomi.eu ROM for my Xiaomi Mi9 Global Edition with Android Q (9.8.15) but I wanna return global stock rom (so there is downgrade to android 9 too) with bootloader locked. I wanna avoid brick, so can you help me? I have to use miflash, right? Thanks in advance!
Hello,
You have to flash the Fastboot ROM with MiFlash like you said, there you will an option "Clean all and lock" which will relock the bootloader.
can i install eu xiaomi roms without unlockbootloader and if unlocked can lock it again
You can't install eu ROM (custom ROM) without unlocking bootloader. And if you use any other ROM then the initial one meant for your phone don't relock bootloader. Or also you will brick your phone.
