Unfortunately because Mediatek doesn’t release full device source for MT6752 and others chipsets , developing a full stable & fluid Rom is not easily possible.
from Oreo , Android structure is completely changed and current available kernels like Renice are not suitable for later androids like Oreo, pie or 10.
If you search for other devices that use this chipset (MT6752) , you see that all of them stops at Oreo with huge of bugs and while other devices with weaker chips ( like Nokia 1 ) will receive even android 10 , but our device with such a great power cannot go further , that’s because Mediatek do not provide Full device source , While Qualcomm provide this sources for every devices , and phones with Snapdeagon cpus can receive maximum available android version.

Searching the whole Redmi 4x a.k.a Redmi 4(India) thread on XDA I came up to know that xiaomi has not released kernel sources yet. I was looking forward to buy this device but looking at the lazy response from manufacturer I doubt the development and getting it. Share your thoughts and suggestion down below. Should I get this device or get Lenovo zuk Z2 plus which is available around the same price ?
I'm waiting for a deal to get one for my mom. I'm happy so far with my Note 4X (SD 625) which I'm running with Resurrection Remix, so I think a slighty downsized and down-specced version would be great for her. If there is no custom firmware in the near future, she'll be fine. I wouldn't wanna miss LOS or RR on my phone, but MIUI isn't bad for lots of people.
There are already a few custom ROMs for RM4X like yurekaOS based on nougat 7.1.2 and as i read in forums it seems to be running ok for the most users.
Still i wouldn't expect too much in custom development. see RM3S for example. there are ROMs available but development goes slow
So if you are no friend of MIUI (and upcoming MIUI 9) and want lot of custom development then you might consider buying another phone.
Hi,
any plans for CM 13.1 or Lineage equivalent for Redmi Note 4X Qualcomm not built on nougat?
Need Android 6 as 7+ doesn't allow for USB bus speed auto-negotiation, which is "kinda" big deal in my application.
Thanks for input

You are asking for "Mido" not for Redmi 4X "Santoni"
It is better to search here:

You're a power user. Can the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 keep up? Rate this thread to express how "healthy" the development scene is for the Xiaomi Mi Note 3. A higher rating indicates available root methods, kernels, and custom ROMs.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Very bad. Almost all of the ROMs are based on Nougat, just there is a buggy Lineage OS 15.1 if you are looking for an Oreo Custom ROM. Xiaomi doesn't give Android Oreo support as Global Stable, so this causes amazingly lack of community support for Oreo. Just a garbage...
Edit: Official Pixel Experience and another Lineage OS 15.1 is released after Xiaomi has released the Oreo China Stable and kernel sources of it. The bugs will appear in the near future.
Edit 2: I installed Android Pie with success. Check my thread for more: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-note-3/how-to/guide-how-to-install-android-pie-xiaomi-t3841231
There is xiaomi Eu Rom working good.
There is nougat and oreo sources.
Device not popular then there is no custom rom (no = worth to install)
Almost bad...
Hello,
i am really disappointed From the fact that we dont have a stable Oreo rom, i appreciate the work that some developer did like surdu and haky ....
But watching Chinese mtk old devices get oreo, also Galaxy s2 !!!!! got an oreo rom and one plus 1 and other old devices all of them got oreo despite being on marshmallow or above
by this post i just wanted to share my thoughts in this topic and motivate developers especially surdu to keep doing what they do

Don't compare sd phones with kirin 620 soc. Even Mediatek has better support than us...
I am also desperately waiting for a Oreo Rom bro
but the Devs need their time
Now that we can unlock the bootloader and root the galaxy tab a T510 It would be cool to see custom roms developed for it
I would love to see AOSP android running on the T510
Is there anyone in the custom rom development able to do
Does nobody want to see a custom rom on this device
I'm Interested too !! A debloated Rom please !!!!!
I posted my TWRP build here, so I'm hoping that enables more custom ROM development for the SM-T510. Unfortunately, my initial attempts with GSIs were unsuccessful, even with NoKnox to disable most of the Samsung security features. Seems I'm still missing something, but Galaxy S10 owners have had some success after making minor changes to the generic image.
Has anyone tried this GSI guide for the Galaxy A8, which shares the same Exynos 7885? It's got the rw-system.sh fix noted above.
I may purchase.this very soon. I have high hopes for this device getting lineage
Would love to see a custom firmware release as there's only a 32 bit version of android and I'd like to get 64 bit support. Great little tablet aside from that downside
Interesting note here in the @phhusson's Treble Wiki:
Why should I use GSI for A/B devices to some A-only devices? : On Android 9, Google changed the requirements and all devices shipped with Android 9 must use "system-as-root". Before this change, only A/B devices were system-as-root and GSI name was separated by A-only and A/B. For this historical reasons, you have to use GSI for A/B on the devices shipped with Android 9+.
So, I'm thinking that we should be using ARM for A/B...and not many custom GSI ROMs are built for that target.
Okay, I had some limited success with the latest AOSP 9.0 GSI build from @phhusson. The note above from his Wiki was spot on: We need an ARM A/B configuration for the SM-T510/T515...which is unfortunately a rare combination. You must also this updated /system/bin/rw-system.sh script. I used the build with GApps (system-arm32_binder64-ab-gapps-su.img.xz), but this generates a ton of error notifications because the device is not Play Protect certified.
We're getting much closer, though.
Okay, here's a quick-n-dirty custom ROM build based on the AOSP 9.0 GSI mentioned above: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...om-nexus-stock-2019-galaxy-tab-10-1-t3944222/
Asus announces the new android 10 for the rog phone 2 and soon Will be public. But since sources for pie are out , i would Hope for some develop of custom rom
Actually i tested since years and the most smoothest and stable rom Is omnirom or based rom like treskmod for Op phones.
I would like some omnirom build of android 9 initially and After android 10. Tpwr official Is out. I know It could be difficult to code airtrigger or RGB logo but in everyday usage i dont need . If someone Is able to build please start , maybe in future airtriggers and RGB Will be code.
Thanks
