yes i did follow this https://forum.xda-developers.com/red-magic-3/help/locked-bootloader-usb-debugging-stuck-t3947817
Yep, did it. Unlock bootloader and install drivers before you attempt it
After unlocking bootloader if OTG update fails flash TWRP.

Yesterday I was trying to install vanir room to my p880 after 10 hours I rooted the phone and unlock the bootloader then installed cwm but after reboot I get stuck on logo so I used kdz and load LGP880AT-00-V20a-262-000-MAR-26-2013+0 with (after 4 hours ) then i try using twrp and finally load the room (vanir_p880_4.4.4.112414.zip) and Gapps after rebooting I started getting crashes ( aosp keyboard, com.google, home and back buttons etc didn't work)
so again kdz then i try other room Paranoid but the same thing..
What I'm doing wrong? I used factory reset, wipe etc but same results

I don't really know what happened, did you successfully flashed kdz?
Where did you get it from? Here?: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=15
Try to flash one of these (choose correct one for you)
Than you have to install recovery again.
But before that you can try to wipe /system, /data, /cache and then flash CM11 (I know it works without problems)
And I recommend you these Gapps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942

What is CM11? and how i flash it?
so I have to root and unlock bootloader again and use twrp again right?

I think you should try with CWM first, get it: http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-p880.img
you can flash it with this app if you are rooted: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify
then you can download CM11 from here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=p880
and gapps from last mine post
and then boot to recovery, do factory reset and wipe /system, then flash rom and gapps.
Hope it helps
Crash After Flash OTA Vanir 5.0
I had a similar experience. I was installing OTA latest update of Vanir...not realising that it was 5.0...a screen came up telling me that it needed to flash another recovery...not realising why it needed that, I ignored the request to flash. Of course, I then "bricked" the phone. I was able to install the original JB 4.12 (v20c) back onto the phone but now it won't root. I've tried almost every method in this forum to no avail.:
ADB just gives a message "error: closing" when I use the boot.exe method
o4xr method does nothing
all-in-one method also does nothing
ADB does recognise the device. Drivers are installed. Any help is welcome!

Have you tried to flash a recovery using fastboot? You won't need to root (if you are going to use a custom ROM) and/or it will be easier with a custom recovery
Soft brick after last update.
Hello,
I seem to have a similar problem. I updated a few days ago using Vanir updater. There were no warnings re updating the recovery, just a warning regarding losing root. I checked restore root. The phone rebooted to the bootloader logo, then to a black screen. Now, I can access Cyanogen recovery, SW update mode, abd fastboot mode using buttons and the recovery options. ADB can see the phone only in recovery mode, but not in fastboot or SW update mode. CM recovery has no option to mount USB storage, so my PC cannot see the phone, and I cannot side load a new recovery and flash a new ROM.
Is there any way to use ADB if it cannot see your phone in fastboot or SW mode? Perhaps modify the settings.secure string to enable ADB? ADB can see the phone in recovery mode.
Otherwise I will try flashing a stock ROM via KDZ or LG firmware update tool, the re-root and proceed - but rooting was a major ordeal the first time, so I would like to avoid doing that again.
Thanks in advance.
Hello everyone,
as a beginner in flashing roms/kernels, I flashed the dt2w (which is present on this forum) on my HTC One Mini 2. When I tried to reboot it, the screen was all blac. You could tell the thing was running, because of the vibration and sounds, but no image at all.
That's why I now need the stock kernel (original one?) and I don't know where to find it, neither if I have saved it somewhere, which I will flash using fastboot/adb.
Thank you

I believe someone has posted the stock boot.img somewhere(I can't seem to find it). You can also take the boot.img from the Stock Rom here
I am doing so right now, but will I be able to do the official upgrades? And is this a ROM or a kernel? Thank you

No , you won't be able to install official updates once you unlock your bootloader. But you can do so manually by flashing it through stock recovery with a relocked one. Just make sure you backup everything in the phone storage if you do it since it is wiped if every time you reunlock the bootloader.

How can I flash an OTA manually?
I've got an OTA (OTA_M8_MINI_UL_K44_SENSE60_Vodafone_CH-DE_2.18.166.2-2.18.166.1_release_448149.zip) but I am not able to install it.
I've already tried flashing a stock kernel (the boot.img from the link you've posted), I've flashed a stock recovery (M8_MINI_UL_Stock_Recovery_2.19.401.2.img) and I've relocked the bootloader.
But when I get the update notification and try to update, the phone goes to the stock recovery and the update proceeds but after about one quarter of the progress bar, it stops and shows the red exclamation mark (!).
I've also tried flashing the kernel and the recovery which are included in the OTA update, but still the same error.
Do you have an idea how I can manage to successfully update?

I managed to do it, but it was a really dirty method. What I did was find the firmware.zip file from the Firmware I got from here, locked the bootloader and then flashed it via the bootloader(renaming it to PXXXIMG.zip, check exact file name before proceeding). Make sure you find the firmware of the OTA, or just get the firmware.zip from it.
This gets messy because it will result in you reunlocking the bootloader(which I assume you probably will) which will in turn wipe the internal storage completely. So backup up the Internal Storage AND your SD card before you proceed.

I've tried what you did. Seemed to update Bootloader, Recovery and Radio.
Then I rebooted, again got the update notification and tried to install it.
Bit still the same error, software update still fails.

go to miui and download the latest rom and just install it with TWRP.
There are currently no Android Nougat versions without bugs expect the official miui rom
Agree
Downloaded latest miui developer rom.. Flashed via twrp.. Now stuck in boot loop... What to do..
You probably didn't download latest TWRP that is necessary for Nougat.

finally restored the previous back up from twrp..but even now same issue..cant boot the phone....have tried everything now.. Flashed twrp for nougat via fastboot.. Could get into recovery after that.. But than tried flashing the nougat miui developer rom again.. But same prob boot loop.. Tries restoring the backup with twrp but nothing same boot loop.. Plz help..
Where did you find twrp?
When I first flashed the twrp that was on eu miui first nougat for Mi Note Pro it didn't work. I then installed twrp that was linked from one of the reply which lead me to Miui Hellas it then worked.
I have flashed every version from that point very easily.
I did a find the link to twrp from one of the forums.. After flashing it.. I can atleast get into twrp.. But nothing else is happening.. I mean I tried flashing the latest developer rom but got bootloop.. Tried restoring the previous rom.. Got bootloop... So.. Got fed up and have downloaded the fastboot rom now and will use the mi flash tool in the evening after I get back frm work.. Hope it will work...and I forgot to mention that when i tried "fastboot oem device-info" i got bootloader locked.. After that i did unlock the bootloader frm mi unlock tool... Plz help..
Before going to nougat you have to put latest lollipop which is I think 6.12.22 then twrp for nougat then unlock bootloader then flash first nougat then I think you can flash latest nougat.

maybe a bad/corrupted download
Same issue here, I am unable to update my phone
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I just got the same error too.
I also got a warning while i boot back to the old version.
System update failed
Update failed, tap to enter repair mode to try again.
guys, i had the same issue too.
Download the full rom via xda link, installation failed. Same goes for the OTA.
However, I managed to update to stock PIE.
My bootloader was unlocked when using stock OREO.
So what I did was, I RE-LOCKED the bootloader, and reboot the OP3T. (BE WARNED,IT RESET THE WHOLE PHONE)
After fresh installation, i was able to update to PIE via OTA. (Should work with local upgrade too)
So for my case, that helps.

Well I was upgraded to the pie with locked bootloader and after that, I had flashed official twrp and magisk but I flashed oreo rom to check if this problem is there when the bootloader is unlocked well yes the one plus detects that your bootloader is unlocked and doesn't deliver the ota so what you can do is click on download upgrade read carefully bro DOWNLOAD not INSTALL just DOWNLOAD it and then you will find it in .ota directory in File Manager now what you have to do is backup your all data via your prefered backup method from which you can restore things after the update I am going to give you a spoiler all data will be corrupted when you will flash the update file via twrp that's why the one plus package updater doesn't update and says installation failed... The pie update will be successfully installed but you have to factory reset your phone to use it that's why I told You to take a backup and after this restore your data...
***I have experienced all this by downgrading and then again upgrading with an unlocked bootloader so I would be honored if you thank me***
I was on stock Pie. I was facing some battery drain issue so I decided to install Oreo official stock which was already downloaded last month. I installed it through local upgrade and rom is still in internal memory. Now I am stuck in Recovery. It tries to boot but every time after few minutes it comes back to recovery. Please help me. It installs Oreo through recovery but unable to boot.
I think Pie can be installed through sideload but I could not find exact links for installation through sideload. Or if there is any option to copy Pie Rom in my internal memory to try installing back latest rom.
If anyone could help me It will be highly appreciated. My bootloader is still locked.
Hello,
I was trying to restore my imei today on my MI9 MIUI10 device. After I restarted, the phone restarted into recovery. The device is rooted and TWRP is installed. I think I should flash modem files and I don't know where to find them. Or what else should I do?
