Hi all, I'm on the fence waiting to try DU or StatiXOS, and would like to ask whether someone else has tried both and what are the main differences.
Looking around on the web i gather that StatiX has a bit more customization options, but the difference is not too much so I guess the key points here are performance and updates.
Could someone kindly give a little insight on these topics?

Last build I installed didn't include the camera app but I was told it would be added soon. The rest of the rom seemed solid but I didn't keep it long cause of the missing camera app.

Sounds like an app issue
About the camera issue, can it be fixed installing Google Camera in some way (APK or ZIP flash) ?
It looks like a pretty important point in my humble opinion.

I don't think it is an app issue. I think it has something to do with activation. It is not reading the APNs properly, and attempting to connect to Verizon, when this is an MVNO.

Still need to work out PixelGapps. It has a commit to not build it for CAF devices, but it appears that it wasn't done correctly and for Pixel devices it also doesn't build it. For future Nuclear builds I'll change that device side while I fix the commit.
I noticed a buld was just posted.. Does it include pixel gapps?

Just install it from the Play Store. Not a big issue atm, but it will be included in gapps at some point.

Every build that is a Pixel phone will include gapps.
I am no longer maintaining StatiXOS on the 3a or the 3a XL. Builds may or may not continue to be put out on sourceforge, I don't know. Will merge in August stuff, and that's about it. Been fun

weather on lockscreen doesn't show up after reboot, but i'm able to bring it back every time by setting user defined location, in settings - owls nest - lockscreen - weather - weather panel , on and off.

Just download the viper zip if u google how to install viper for nougat the sites will have the links u just flash it then rename a file and install the driver m the sites will also have the steps

Right I think I may have found a problem with bluetooth on this ROM as after installing this ROM the audio with my Bluetooth devices keep cutting out and it's super annoying.
Tried to flash this, but after connecting to wifi in setup, it would not go past checking for updates?

Did you try to redownload? Or other Gapps? Did you installed this with mods like other kernel etc. ? Cuz it's definitely installable.

Slim hasn't merged Nov security patch in its sources as of now. Once they merge, I'll give an update.
For camera, device tree isn't stable as of now. So no workaround for that.

From my knowledge, the last lineage os build of samarv-121 has camera working . Will it anyhow help to fix the issue.

For the SMS related issue I never faced it in Nougat roms, and didn't hear anybody else talking about it either!
The second is not an issue! It shows 1.7GB because it includes /system, /cache, /oem, and other partitions too in it. In actual, the used storage is even lesser than Lineage OS if you check in TWRP

Use the magisk module to get the safety net
Fingerprint sensor sometimes doesn't respond
The phone restarts in Recovery instead of the system every time it reboots. From Recovery it loads into the system normally. Last OrangeFox&Magisk
Excellent firmware, fast, autonomy is excellent, smooth, even for 2/16, slightly changed build.prop and framework-res.apk, but rebooting into recovery mode rather than into the system spoils the impression.

robbalmbra will not be continuing his development of the ROM since he will switch to IOS. I asked permission and he said it's okay to take over his work. Basically the plus has more tweaks. I didn't build the standard version since I don't have enough storage space for it. Thanks!

Kernel specification? I mean is it same as the havoc version you are maintaining?

Always is! Same kernel as Havoc, Bliss, and RR.
So far so good. Even the Bixby button got resurrected. Also hard press on the home button works. Love it!

Yeah it should be since i transferred the device tree to mine and edited some stuff that does not work

Yes flash the magisk zip then after boot, download the magisk manager.

Been looking for a AOSP/non Samsung based rom for a while. Didn't know what to flash (Lineage, RR, Bliss, or this) and ended up flashing this.
Flashed this last night and all is well. Magisk 20.4 working for root (adblock and Flux). Battery life seems adequate so far will update in a few days.
Feels like a pixel with a headphone jack. - Something I've always wanted.
