I keep seeing comments in YT videos about a working GCAM for RM3. I literally tried like a millio... like 15 different apks, without any success. Does anyone have a version or a trick to get GCAM working?
BTW, the latest update to the stock camera is awesome. Compared to my old OP6 camera, this one is flagship quality.
I also wait a suitable gcam for this beast smartphone

I recently bought my sister a Moto x4 for her birthday via a recent online sale on flipkart. The phone looks great and performs very well but but my only complaint is the camera. After spending around 20k i expected it to be at least a mid range level kind of quality. There's a lot of noise even in daylight photos, the edges are not sharp, sometimes photos look like water color painting. I'm very disappointed. Even my redmi 3s prime (with gcam mod) can take better photos compared to that.
I tried everything thing like updating the software and trying different gcam mods but none of them worked.
Please help...
Install some GCam mod, the stock camera isn't good, but they are improving.

Can you share the link of a fully working gcam mod ? Thanks.
Try Arnova's v7 beta 9 or v6
Both are almost similar and work very well
Just something i was wondering. What do you guys prefer using the stock mi camera app or gcam? I use the mi one mostly since one thing ive noticed is that back in my redmi note 4 gcam made a heck load of difference but with the a2, not so much tbh

GCam, in low-light/night scenarios, significantly outperforms stock. In good lightening conditions you might be able to see a little lack of proper WB tuning on GCam, colors are a bit exaggerated (unreal), stock camera handles color accuracy better (though, it won't capture as many details as GCam even in the best lightening conditions). Cropped sky shots on GCam reveal dot patterns, GCam devs now implement a fix by B-S-G, but you can't fully get rid of dots. By the way, the so-called Xtreme libs, that are available in previous Tolyan's builds, were the top solution to the dots' problem for me a month ago. If you'll be pissed off by the black dots, go try his builds. I just nevermind them 'cause we have a good dev who tunes everything to match Mi A2 capabilities.
Here is a link to builds by a Russian guy who works on bringing the best GCam performance to Mi A2.

Thanks for the comprehensive answer. Never experienced these black dots myself tho. Its mostly just about stability for me and all the gcams ive tried aren't nearly as stable as stock camera. They end up crashing when i most need them. Anyways i havent tried the build you linked which is supposed to be specific to those device so ill try that to see if theres any difference.

That's the issue for me as well.
At the end of the day, photography is mainly about catching the moment.. so you can have the best HDR in this world, but if the camera crashes/freezes when you really need it, then it completely misses the point.
Even if I think that the gcam gives better results (if you don't consider the dots), I'm using the stock app simply because it's way more reliable (and not bad anyway).
Seems this forum is rather silent but has any a80 users tried a gcam?
It's the same sensor as the OP7 pro, zenfone 6 etc so hopeful someone has had some luck

Just got the phone today and I'm using this GCAM port, for the S10 https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397913303 it seems to work fine, haven't done any test, just a quick pic and it does seem better quality over the stock Samsung.
I've been using it for about 4 hours and the camera does not fully turn every time, most times it does, but I've had that happen a few times already, where it almost flips all the way to selfie mode, but stops at about 80% of the flip. Interested to know if this is common, I've seen a Youtuber with this issue as well, so just wondering if it's "normal" or not.

Had a bit more time to test it out and wow, GCam for the win, the difference is massive in low light, stock camera is very noisy, GCam, clean pic, makes this a great camera phone now.

The latest Gcam based on the Pixel 4's sensor works much better. I spent a lot of time trying and getting the best out of this sensor. Might compare it to the iP11Pro soon.

can you pm me a link to which one your using? thanks
My friend @Xtergo can you give as a link for the Pixel 4 version you mentioned before?
already tried bsg arnova version & it's much better than stock in normal or portrait conditions but there's still missing features like live mode who give us actual bokeh effect. as far my experience gcam still lack on response time to open up / switching between mode camera maybe many more must be fixed considering that there has not been ported special for this device
Urynox Google Camera 7 for Samsung Galaxy A80
Almost all modes work
Hi guys, a have running Gcam for A70 (downloaded from same forum) in my A80 without problems its very good the Android 10 version, all right.
I've ported over a version of the Google camera..https://www.cyanogenmods.org/google-camera-oppo-find-x3-pro-gcam/
Google camera 8.1
Below is is an example of the only photos I've managed to take so far. However the Google camera port definitely has a more natural tone. The oppo camera has a more vivid look to it
Have you found a way to support auxiliary lenses ?
I prefer Oppo's colour science over GCam there.
There are a couple of good X3 pro v pixel 5 comparisons out there on YouTube. There is no reason to want the Google cameras.
Part of the joy of android is being able to play around with stuff like this regardless of weather you need it or not, don't you think?
okokok,very thanks
What is the status of GCam port for X3 Pro? Everyone happy using stock camera?
Is this only mod working or we can try many other ports as well?

There's many new builds released like MGC and LMC that work good also without an XML, for MGC you can download the aweme package that can shot with wide lens but have a bug on normal lens, I prefer LMC for normal shot in day light, you can find all simply searching on telegram
So I've purchased mi11 Ultra lately. I hoped to get an excellent camera phone. Waiting for my bootloader to get unlocked and in the meantime was going through all the useful threads. I wanted to jump to A13 using some custom room but I'm bit confused with the camera issues. From what I understand there is no working miui cam for A13 and so I was wondering weather there is a moded gcam that actually works on A13 and is at least as good as miui cam?
I went to A13 and tried a shedload of gcam ports and configs over two weeks on my MI11 Pro.
I ended up going back to an A12 ROM, for the MIUI Camera (EvolutionX by FlowerSea) - much better, more flexible and easy to use with the multiple camera modules.
Also, as it seems to be the quickest and most stable with banking apps, GPay/Wallet and AndroidAuto wireless.
Other people may disagree though.
I liked the HDR and sharpening that GCam would give, but in all honestly the native camera functions and features always seemed to be more consistent. Go with what you feel! Pick the camera that'll give you the best pictures and functions you're looking for.
