Hello,
I tried to root my Note 8. However, after flashing TWRP in Download Mode with Odin I can't get into TWRP with Vol + | Bixby-Button | Power Button. Only way out is to press Vol - and Power and reboot the phone. What am I doing wrong? USB-Debugging is on etc. Odin says it's a success. Is there any other way to root it?
I'm using an Stock Rom Pie 9 with an international Note 8.
Thanks
Kind regards
Hugo

To get root, you need to flash twrp via odin, now to access/mount the data you need to remove the encryption (i.e format data and internal storage) and then flash magisk from within twrp..

You'll have to disable FDE if you've enabled it yes. But normally by default it doesn't affect much. What you need to get is just some 9.0 Sources for the Exynos variant, and you should be able to make a custom recovery image from the Samsung Open Source SRC's and the AOSP code.
Even if you have to downgrade to Oreo first to flash it, TWRP will be able to get you back to Pie with TWRP still installed.

I have J7 prime [SM-G610F] with stock andriod 8.1, samsung experience 9.5 and 1 November 2018 security patch will it still work?
I don't think so. I think the J7 with 8.1 is impossible to root? I can't seem to find an answer on this.

For now I do not have available Super User. I think this post will work for me

Which one do you recommend? At which point do I have to install it and then I don't need to install no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0?
EDIT: I think I finally got it. I did it like this:
1. Ok, so the phone as a fresh 8.1.0 system (just flashed the 7.0 and then it updated OTA in a matter of minutes). I enter the phone, enable the developer mode, enable OEM Unlocking and USB Debug.
2. Then I put the phone on download mode, flash the TWRP recovery disabling the auto-reboot on Odin so it doesn't boot to system automatically. This seem important since otherwise the recovery goes back to stock.
3. Then, to get out of download mode I press vol. down and power keys at the same time and the phone turn off. Then I turn on the phone into recovery mode, once in there I swipe into write mode and go to Wipe and select Format Data, type down yes and it says it's done. I go back to TWRP main menu.
4. I connect the cellphone to the PC and in storage I select Mount USB. Then drag the Magisk-v18.0.zip file into the storage that pops up on Windows. Then I saftely remove the device in Windows and go back to the main TWRP menu on the phone. I select Install and install the .zip file without selecting Signature verification or Reboot after is complete. It says is done installing and no errors seems to occur. I employ the button to wipe Cache and Dalvik.
5. I go back again o Wipe and select Format Data, type down yes and it says it's done, again.
5. Then I try to reboot to System, and choose to Do Not Install the TWRP app, and... SUCCESS!! The phone starts again, I config everything and then Magisk is there in the apps. I tried with an app that requires SU and it works!
Thanks for the help.

That's the way I have done it. But if you go on Z3X, select the device (SM-G610M), and you perform some activity like repair IMEI, Z3X detects the root, but it does not detect the Super User.

This is just initial port from J5 Prime. Works on SM-J330F (don't know what about FN/G etc.). Odin flashable. For almost 100% it will trig KNOX. Remember to OEM unlock your device before flashing.

2) Reboot into download mode
3) Flash recovery through Odin

So, I have a Global version Mi 9.
Since the Global Beta is now gone, I want to use Xiaomi.eu ROM.
I unlocked bootloader, I flash TWRP, then I even flash the Disable Force Encryption, but every single time I reboot, the recovery reverts back to MI Recovery 3.0.
What am I doing wrong ?
AFAIK, MIUI installs her own recovery after a reboot.
I always download ROM and enter TWRP to flash ROM !
Currently speaking, MI9 TWRP without the other TWRP mod, such as OrangeFox to ensure TWRP won't be replaced by Mi recovery after OTA updated.
I see a magisk app - "TWRP A/B Retention script" may be current solution to help you keep TWRP after OTA but it must be flashed again after OTA updated every time.

You do not understand.
TWRP is NOT replaced after OTA, it is replaced after rebooting, immediately, after flashing it, before I can even upload the .zip file with the custom ROM to install it.

After flashing twrp, are you using fastboot boot twrp? If so, you need instead to use buttons, not the fastboot commands. Flash twrp, then hold vol up and power together until the phone reboots and vibrates, then let go of power but keep holding vol up. That should make twrp stick

Exactly.
1) Boot into fastboot
2) fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
3) fastboot reboot (immediately after device reboot, in black screen, hold VOL+ button)
4) TWRP logo will appears
Yes, I can boot to TWRP, but one time only. I use the volume up button after flashing to enter TWRP.
I need to format the data partition, before I upload the .zip file, and after I format the data partition and I reboot the phone, no more TWRP, MI Recovery 3.0 again.
In the end, I managed to install the xiaomi.eu ROM, but only by pushing the file into the tmp folder and not rebooting after I format the data partition.
Strange how MIUI enforces their own recovery software over TWRP, I had no such issues with the Mi 6, two years ago.

Bit late so not sure if the issue is still prevalent, but did you try flashing TWRP from within TWRP itself?
That's what I did, flashing TWRP within fastboot, then rebooting to enter TWRP (I use buttons for this), then moving the TWRP img to internal storage and use the install function within TWRP to flash the image.

Hi!
I'm looking for information to root my A70.
As I understand it, if I apply these methods I will get a change from 0x0 to 0x1 in Knox, right?
My device is still under warranty.
I wouldn't want to lose it yet. I have something like 6 months left.
If there is definitely no way to root without changing Knox status, I will wait until the warranty ends. Or be close to.
Thanks a lot!
Greetings from Argentina!

It is very easy to get out of Bootloop
Steps :
1)Before restarts to its Samsung logo(Bootloop) Hold volume up button or volume down(may differ but try both once) for at least 6 sec
2) you will enter the download mode then REFLASH what you want

The main issue is getting out of the bootloop
Reflash the stock
Then flash the twrp recovery exactly for your device (a30 or whatever)
