Fire 7 mustang (2019) kernel sources - Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys,
I'm trying to get into Android development and wanted to compile a kernel with tab2wake support (module). However, I can't seem find any page that offers the sourcecode for Amazon devices. Do you have an idea where I could get those?
Thx for any answer in advance.

It's available from https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GXBUV78NMHPAKAVW the link says https://www.amazon.com/firehd8sourcecode but the archive file name is Fire_7_9th_Gen-6.3.1.2-20190523.tar.bz2

Building for Nexus one

Sorry if this has been asked or posted, I tried doing a search but lots of hits..
Here goes:
Is there a howto for building a Nexus one rom from Android Open Source dot com?
I have seen these:
(cant post real links lame....)
But they basically tell you to pull from GIT and type make.
I have flipped over the Makefiles, but it would be handy if someone has a tut on building a nexus one specific point of view.
Again I apologize if this has been covered.
Cheers,
Check out the wiki at http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Building_from_source that will help you start to compile your own ROM. Also there is a build script floating around on the CyanogenMod Forums that you can use.
Thanks this is what I have been looking for! I have the build system building on my gentoo box ATM, I will check out this link and search for the build script.
I believe I found the build script in the Motorola Droid section of the CyanogenMod forums. Like 3 or 4 pages into it.

Kindle Fire HD 7" kernel source or cif module?

Has the kernel source for the Kindle Fire HD (7.2.1) been posted somewhere yet? I can't seem to find it on Amazon. I'm looking to build a few modules for the stock kernel, namely cifs and nfs so that I can use CifsManager.

I'm not sure if the source code includes the source for the kernel, but Amazon released the source for all their kindle devices. I cant post the link, but if you google amazon kindle fire hd source it should be the first, or second hit.

[Q] JB rom for OG Droid with everything

I'm just wondering if there is one JB rom that has everything working. Kfazz has one that the FM radio works, but the Play Store doesn't. He has another one where the Store works but the Radio doesn't. Energic has done some interesting things with these. And somewhere in there, there is a version that some folks say the WiFi isn't working. I have installed all of them. I like bits and pieces of them all. Has anybody put all the pieces together? Alternately, is there a way that I can look at the differences between them and cherry pick out the best from each?
I hope somebody is out there to answer my plea.

Currently there is no Jelly Bean ROM that has everything working 100% correctly, however if you wanted to you could look at each developers that created a Jelly Bean ROM github sources for that ROM and then using git and the Android build system cherry pick the commits that work and try build them in a new ROM. If each developer doesn't have a github you could also try and asking them for the repository where they store there source code.

You can look into each developers github (Here is Kfazz's github profile link) by finding there github profile on github by searching for it or if they have it linked on XDA by clicking on their username then select the "View GitHub profile". Use can then use github to browse each developers source repository, the main tools you will be using are Git and Repo to manipulate and cherrypick the various commits. Additionally I would recommend making sure you have acess to a Linux box or are running Linux to make building and working with the source code repository's easier. Also, I would recommend taking a look at this great guide on how to use Repo and this great guide on how to Git.

Firefox OS for Android One (Sprout) Phones

Anyone built already a flashable .zip file or .img files for Android One (Sprout) smartphones? Anyone can upload the latest version here? I'm not of a techy type of person but it seems like a lot of Android One users are looking for an easy installable ROM for their Android phones. Like this for example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/xda-assist/flashable-firefox-os-rom-android-one-t3160682
I found this link: https://github.com/b2g-sprout/ however a lot of them are not technically enough and even I don't even know what to do with these files even though I have already tried using Firefox's instructions and some other articles on the Web about Porting FFOS. Full instructions on how to build Firefox OS from the files on the given link would also be appreciated. And also an example on how to update them for the latest version. Thanks for all willing to help...
Technically, the files from b2g-sprout github can be directly built after syncing AOSP source code.
The guide itself is mentioned in the B2G readme file here
https://github.com/b2g-sprout/B2G/blob/master/README.md

Can you give me specific instructions then on what to do with these files then? Please. I tried extracting "B2G" and "B2G-manifest" on my Home Directory then the "device-sprout" to the folder inside B2G: "device/google/sprout/" and I have no idea what to do to the others but when I try "./config.sh", it keeps on telling me that "sprout.xml" doesn't exist which I have no idea why. I am still very confused and hoping that you can solve this thing. I would also want to help and upload builds if ever, posting it on those users asking for a Firefox OS build for their Android One phones. Hope you can help us... I'll note you on those posts also so don't worry. :good: I will appreciate it also if you are to upload an already built rom for Firefox OS 'coz I have searched every corner of the internet already and there's not yet a version for Sprout. Thank you very much...
Still Searching
I have been searching everywhere for weeks now but still no answers. Anyone can help? Sorry but I'm really a big fan of the Open Web... And would really want to create apps for FFOS. :crying:

I tried to build twrp for A605k but..

there is no such kernel, device tree, vendor for my device.
I could build device tree via twrpbuilder tree generator,
but kernel cannot be found in opensource release center.
why am i need A605k? not F or FN or else?
that's because when i used A605FN recovery it has so many errors... and it makes me build twrp for A605K.
not for other models..
but.. i failed,
device tree built via twrpbuilder tree generator doesn't have omni.dependencies file
so, what do you guys think how can i fix those annoying things?
I know, this is not a question area, but i want to make Discussion with you guys to get a idea
Well if your trying to build a device tree and kernel source and vendor start with downloading android source in linux there are many great guides for this then download the sources for the A600F/FN or any other current model of the A600 then there will be a file in the folder for whichever source you downloaded that will allow you to pull resources from your phone like kernel recovery device vendor files ect.. use that and then import it to the same folder than try to build TWRP and test it to see if you get a working build if not then go back and try again their are many sources for learning how to compile twrp for devices that dont have it read those and try again.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app

I did find the kernel and source here: http://opensource.samsung.com/recep...menu_item=mobile&classification1=mobile_phone
(page 44 for SM-A605FN - A605FNXXU1ARD7)
I would like to build it myself, but my android development knowledge is limited (i do have a solid linux knowledge though).
Is this guide obsolete (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943625)?
If yes, anyone knows where can i find an up-to-date one?
If not, any idea where BoardConfig.mk can be found?
Where can we find a guide on how to build a twrp? I would really like to learn how to do it
