Sounds like you've jumped into the deep end a bit too early... The best option for you is likely to go to your device's forum, here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus
There you can probably find information and guidance on how to root, flash and install stuff to your device. And you'll be able to ask for assistance from other users that have the same device as you (not every device works the same, and that is especially true for Samsung).
A couple of tips for you, going forward:
Do your homework. Read as much as you can about the modifications you're trying to do, and Android modification in general (but remember that things can change fast and a guide you find might be very outdated by the time you read it. The forums are usually the best place for up-to-date info).
Make backups! Always make sure that you have a backup of any important data, and don't store it on the device.
Know how to go back to a working state when you mess up, because mess up you will (everyone does at some point). This tip is of course tied to the first one...
Don't follow some guide or video blindly. Make sure you understand what every step of the process does. That way you won't get stuck like this next time.
Good luck.

You need to root your phone and put a custom ROM on it. Scroll down to the forum that is specific for your phone (there's a huge picture of it next to the right forum) and find a tutorial.
Alternatively, you can go to cyanogenmod.com and go to the wiki there. There's a good tutorial on getting a custom ROM on your phone, which will then allow you to apply a theme.
The best thing I can say is to read as much info you can, which will involve google searches and searches here, and make sure you understand 100% what you are doing. There are some steps that can brick your phone if you don't read and understand fully what's going on.

I myself used a kind of hybrid tutorial for Cyanognen. I downgraded and then used the one-click root app to load cyanogen onto my phone. Cyanogen doesn't mention this method on his site, but I have to be honest, I rooted 3 phone in 20 minutes with that method from start to finish and it was probably easier than scratching my ass.
Hi friends
I am currently running my HTC ONE with a Venom Rom and been told I need TWRP to update to v4.1
Cannnot get TWRP to go over CWM :/
I have removed ROM Manager but still boots into CWM
I have installed GooManager and it asks if I want to install the open recovery script, does the 10 second count down, and then goes back to main screen, does not do anything else - I have removed it and reinstalled, still same issue
If I use Goo to boot in to Recovery it just freezes on the YES/NO screen and then says script is taking too long wait or cancel :/ Left it for ages to no avail
When I looked in ROM Manager it did state Twrp was the recovery but stil booted in to CWM - now I have removed ROM Manager as I read on here that might be the issue :/
I have also just checked for CWM APP, and that is NOT installed
Can anyone help or am I going to have to flash a STOCK ROM then go back to Venom?
Cheers guys
So basically, you want to install TWRP recovery replacing your current CWM recovery right? but can't make it happen since everytime you do, you ended up still having CWM?
Try flashing this file using CWM.

Just flash the recovery through fastboot

@skpManiac (OP), stop using toolkits, goos, youtubes, etc. if you want to flash low-level stuff, then do it the "hard way"
1- download the file
2- VERIFY MD5
3- (ironically) use 3 (as in three) command lines:
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader

No problem that I helped you.. Hey, hit thanks!
Dear experts, I have seen similar threads as with the issue I am facing but I wasnt sure of few parts and if the process as a whole could work for me.
Here's what I know and what the problem is all about, appreciate any help to get back the phone in working condition.
First the basics:
HTC first
GSM unlocked, Bootloader unlocked and TWRP installed
I wanted to delete and format the device as I intended to give this to my friend and I did go to TWRP menu and then clicked on advanced wipe etc and realized I did erase everything the phone needs even to bootup. This I have done without taking backup.
What it looks like now:
When I boot the device out from TWRP, the 'F' logo comes up and stays like that for ever. If I go to TWRP pressing the power and volume down together, it goes to the TWRP menu and thats it..no options seem to help me on this screen to go past the 'F' logo at startup. If I simply power down the device on the 'F' screen it restarts and goes to the same screen making it look like its in a loop. Not sure if this is called soft-brick or hard-brick but it looks like the phone is of no use to me right now.
Can you guys please help me with resolving the problem..any help will be much appreciated

Well then you'll have to make sure you flash the boot.IMG as well,
So what you'll do is
1) find the stock ROM around these threads
2) sideload the ROM
3) flash it
4) flash the boot.IMG inside the rom
5) you're done!
Understanding what s-on/off won't be of use here really d:
And the stock ROM is somewhere around these threads. About the side loading you might find a tutorial for that on YouTube. Sorry if it seems that I'm just leaving you in the dust but I am typing this in a hurry since it's 2:50 am at my place. I will be back to whip up a tutorial for you if YouTube wasn't of much help

wait a sec...you dont have a rom or kernel on your device at the moment right?
then there is no way to turn on usb debug on or off cause there is nothing managing the device.
um...use cmd and do adb devices. if its not there then i have no idea but if fast-boot goes into usb mode try flasing it using code
not sure what you would use, but see if "fastboot flash update nameofROM.zip"
but im not sure if that is the right code

Stock recovery or TWRP?
Are you looking to undo what you did without having to do a complete wipe, or are you open to more drastic solutions? Because you can always run the toolkit to reset to complete stock by flashing the stock images over your current system. But that would of course perform a complete wipe.

I dont really mind a complete wipe. And are you referring to this toolkit? http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...l-windroid-universal-android-toolkit-t3048099

I actually used this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/development/tool-moto-x-pure-edition-recovery-t2897819 when I was messed around, but I would imagine either would work. When I needed to return to unrooted stock, I believe that toolkit returned me to 4.4.4 unrooted stock, then I just ran the 5.0 OTA once the phone booted up.
The toolkit you referenced is the one I used to unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP, and root my phone. As long as you can get to recovery or fastboot, either toolkit should work to return you to stock. BUT I caution you, I have a pure edition, and these toolkits were made for the pure edition. If you do not have a pure edition, you'll want to read the disclaimers/instructions/other posts to make sure it will work on your phone.
Okay so this escalated quickly.
So here I am being my dumb self , I try to flash TWRP. That goes fine and then I try to wipe my data. After that I reboot it and as its turning on it foes black on the boot animation. and now I cant even get into freaking recovery mode. I dont know what I did but im pretty sure I messed up bad. I need some serious help now and anything is appreciated.

Bootloader as in vol. down + power button right? Thats not working too. I also tried other combinations to no luck. And before it was turning on but now its not even booting to the boot animation. Thanks for the link though, if it does magically boot into the bootloader then i'll know what to do at least.
Edit: Okay so theres the charging animation, so thats a start, I guess. Still no luck on the bootloader tho.
Okay got it into bootloader mode!

I agree that Toolkits can make you lazy and not learn how to fix things on your own, but when you need a quick fix and don't have time to figure out what is going wrong, it's always nice to just boot your phone into fastboot or recovery and fix things with a few keystrokes on your computer.

First word of advice, don't use toolkits unless you have fastboot/ADB knowledge.
Start here:

Next, flash a factory image and start fresh. Follow method #2 here:

Thank you for responding and wanting to help.....
Yes...I'm comfortable with fastboot/adb........I have it installed....
Thru fastboot/adb.....I pushed the stock image onto the Nexus.....
I found the stock image in TWRP.....attempted to install....it quit within 5-10 seconds...
by going into the same boot loop as before with the toolkit.......
Pushed chroma rom.......samething.......
While going into recovery..(4 hours of frustaration).....I hit factory reset by accident.....
At the moment...the phone is in an endless bootloop..."Unable to mount E:".......and will not go into TWRP anymore.....
I did read this......I'm going to study this up and try.....

First of all, you don't flash a factory image through TWRP. It must be flashed with fastboot. Second, if you can access the bootloader, you're probably not bricked. That thread you linked is for a 100% bricked device.
Why is it that every time a toolkit users gets into trouble they post their question here instead of in the toolbox thread
