I tried finding this one too. Where do you see an example?
I got Note 8 that can't be updated, with the same model, but it doesn't say of which US company it belongs to, if at all.
On boot there is no special logo (only of Samsung).

What's your baseband version and build number version? You can find them in settings and about phone. Also what exact model is it and which firmware are you trying to use?

[Q] Installing P880 firmware on P880G

Hello everyone,
First of all, I'd like to apologize for resurrecting a topic that was opened by an irresponsible poster, but through my searches, I was not able to find any conclusive information on this topic. I can see that the other three locked threads on the topic have about 1000 views in total, so I believe this topic deserves an open and constructive thread.
The question is, has anyone tried to install firmware for the P880 model on the P880G model we have here in Canada? As far as I know, this model is not available anywhere else. I would appreciate comments from users who may have some insight in the subject, but more importantly, I'd like to hear the results if someone has tried this.
Since the P880G model supports different UMTS frequencies than the P880 model, my guess would be that as long as the baseband firmware does not change the phone should work fine, but as this is my first Android phone there may be other issues that I'm not aware of. Also I don't know whether updating to a new firmware would also change the baseband firmware.
Thanks for your input!

You can be the first one...
As far as I know the flash method is the same, soo, why the new thread?
If you have an issue with different basebands the story is different but, there are some discussions on that. Not about Canada but
related with other countries. You can post your problem or doubt there.
And its enough when you google a little to know the differences about the "P880" and "P880G".
And if I good remember, I already help someone with an issue of that kind.
You have 2 posts, this is one of them... the best for all of us (you, me, and all other users) is that you start to use the "search" option.
Welcome to xdadevelopers, have fun being helped and helping the others.
Thank you. :good:

You can only install the canadian firmwares, so you re stuck with the v10f of windmobile. If you try installing a P880 firmware (like the v20A Euro Open) it will just keep rebooting. I think we have to wait for the canadian update

Hi, I have same model from Taiwan, 64Gb version I bought from ebay.
What I did was install CROM from the Samsung app store to enable installation of customer roms. Then you have to go to developers options and enable OEM Unlock and USB Debug.
Then you flash CF-Autoroot via Odin. I installed a different version since I didn't find one that matched my phone version and I had no problems.
If you cannot find CROM in the Samsung app store, google the apk and install it.
To enable Developer option, go to settings > General and tap multiple times the software version, or something there, I don't remember very well which one, but you will see a counter saying something like "tap X more times to enable developer menu."
I hope it works for you, too.

Here is the links from my Google Drive:
CF-Autoroot: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3xPBTglKzZ1cVB1TDNmOGN4Yms
Note 5 CROM: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3xPBTglKzZ1Z2czTlo0NUV1ck0
CROM comes in Taiwanese, just install and open it. I did this a year ago, so I don't remember if you have anything like "Accept" and "Decline", maybe yes, but I don't know how to read that in Taiwanese.
Good luck mate! Hope you don't have any issues, I didn't have any. BTW, although CROM won't kill knox, CF-Root will certainly do it.
Cheers!

Huawei US Firmware?

Hello, total noob here. So recently got a p20 pro, and is loving it so far. However, I got the Chinese firmware version C00. From my understanding, there is a US T-Mobile version. I was wondering, how can I go about changing it? Does it involve flash or something like that? Any help would be great!

I put this list together to illustrate the different variants of this phone.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-pro/how-to/huawei-p20-pro-variants-t3797524
The phone you have is probably the AL00. This phone is not sold in the US because of political unrest between US Congress and Huawei. There is no 'T-Mobile version', nor are there any US versions. However, I can confirm that the L29 works perfectly here in the United States even though it uses Asia Pacific branded firmware.
Are you having any problems with software on the phone? If not, just root and enjoy!
Hey. Currently I'm running AL01 I was wondering if you have a guide to switch to the international version. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Check out some of his responses before that page - but it looks like its possible.

Sprint is one of the carriers that doesn't publish their KDZ. So to get sprint 10 you'd have to find in one of the threads where someone backed up their 10 version and you could flash their backup. But be aware there are some partitions that people mistakenly backup that have their imei and s/n in them. U don't want to restore those partitions or you'll lose your imei etc.
But, why do u want sprint firmware on your phone? You're in Bangladesh, there is no Sprint there? I'd look at cross flashing to a different rom, usually you'd want one of the 'Open' versions, that has the bands that you need. If u decide to do that, look in the cross flashing threads for how to accomplish that.
Is there any way flash korean rom??

Here's another.
spends some time reading those threads, so you have a good idea of what you'd be getting into.

Question Flash T-Mobile firmware on unlocked S21 ultra

I'll admit I'm a noob, but I was wondering if there were guides or a way to flash the official T-Mobile carrier firmware on an unlocked s21 ultra by chance? If anyone can point me in the right direction please. Thank you and sorry if it's a dumb question.

The SM-G998U1 is Multi-CSC Device (OYN). Change the CSC to TMO by entering the following code on the TouchPad. *#272*YOURIMEINUMBER# Select TMO then install.

You SHOULD receive Tmobile updates once you're on Tmobile firmware and network but I don't think it's something that can be guaranteed. Your Primary CSC can't be changed to TMO and therin lies the problem. In the last couple of years Samsung has complicated firmware and CSC transitions on it's numerous array of devices. Lots of potential users lean to an unlocked device thinking they'll have more freedom of choice but it won't always end up as a benefit. I always recommend buying your service provider's device for full functionality but it doesn't always work out since some users tend to swap service provider's on a regular basis.
I'm on T-mobile's network, month to month, no long term commitment which adds flexibility but even being on their network I didn't aquire their Branded Device. I have the Hong Kong SM-G9980 variant. I couldn't care less about 5G, to me it's the biggest marketing scam since light beer. The only other feature I lose is Carrier Aggregation which much like 5G enables faster download speeds. I can easily have my laptop handle this and transfer files or data to my device. So there's no carrier bloatware, the bootloader is unlocked, I get updates from Samsung typically sooner than US devices and still have Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE via Tmobile. Most users don't do much research to define which device is best suited for their needs. "I got this great deal on an S21 Ultra but..." We can point the finger at Samsung as well, way too many variants leads to a lot of problems.

I downloaded the firmware from SamMobile and Odin then flashed it. I had the unlocked version I purchased from Samsung directly. when selecting the csc portion but it still shows the xaa portion as well. Not sure if I did it wrong but seems to be working for me. Putting it in download mode requires holding volume up/down and power. Every site I visited told the wrong directions
