1. Unlock your bootloader
2. Use mi flash to flush latest rom(opyional, just in case)
3. Extract boot.img from rom zip, and put in your download folder
3. Entering the os.
4. Install magisk manager.
5. Patch the file
6. Copy patched image to your computer and do boot from that IMG.
7. Now you entered the os with temporary root access.
8. Install magisk manager and this time patch the stock boot.img
9. Reboot
Next time please do your own homework before asking duplicate questions.

Where's the problem? I've had a Mi A1 and never patched a boot image for root&recovery, on my old note 5 the procedure was a joke, i've modded a lot of devices in the past but i don't know how to patch a boot image, and i'm a "senior member", if you can help i'll thank you, but if you are here only for show us your poor communication skills then...just try another forum, XDA is not a place for you.
P.S. with poor communication skills i mean act like a rude kid against people, nothing about the language, i have poor english skills too, but i try my best for help.

1. unlock your bootloader. Search in Mi A2 thread how to that.
2. boot twrp from fastboot
3. install magisk.
4. Flash twrp.zip from official twrp site.
5. Now you already rooted and have custom recovery.
If you already had Mi A1, it have same procedure as Mi A2 beacuse both have A/B partition.

It's not a problem, i can agree, the title is not the best, but a normal user can just Say something like "please change the title" or "don't be rude on XDA" or everything else, but being rude like the OP is just worse, i was rude too on my preovious comments, but at this point it's time to close this discussion and (if possible) help the OP (or a moderator wil delete our comments, nothing more, nothing less), see y'all guys

The only reason my Title seemed rude is cause its written word not spoken,so the reason i wanted to make this title was cause i love android one and coming from a1 model its sad that the love is not the same,so im making this comment to show that i want this tread even more fired up,android one all the way.

I believe the extra cmd should be written in the tutorial, plus i believe reading the comments, there are others with same issues, maybe its the drivers ,whatever the reason the other cmd is better in my opinion.

IF YOU EXPLAIN HOW TO "DO IT RIGHT" IN THE OP THEN PERHAPS PEOPLE WONT POST SUCH THINGS IN YOUR THREAD.
The first post does not explain the issue of the "missing" superuser which may confuse some people.
Please update the op to include detailed instructions.
Please also refrain from posting requests in the Dev section and then creating a new thread for the files once you have them.

It's not my problem at all.....
If he's going to post files then he has to at least make sure people are aware of the issues they may experience when attempting to use them.
MY problem is keeping these forums tidy and organised....
The reason for my post is that even once the issue was raised the OP made no attempt to enlighten anyone as to why or help them. That is not what XDA is about.

[Xperia Z2][D6503] Newest Beta System Dump [MM 6.0.1][FW: 23.5.A.1.203]

Hi everyone,
As some of you may know, due to Sony cracking down on the beta program, it's impossible to share the new Beta firmware with everyone. @niaboc79 asked me if I could try to do a system dump and surprisingly, it worked fine with ADB.
I'm not really sure what you guys can do with it but I thought I may as well share it with everyone so you'll find it in the link at the end of this post.
I'm uploading it to Mega right now, it's pretty heavy (over 2 gigs) so please be patient but I should think it'll be ready in an hour or so.
Update: link provided at the bottom of the post
Have fun with it and if it is of any help, I'll post future Beta system dumps if and when they become available.

It will be better if he could back it up as .img files than we can easily flash it. Because it is not so easy to flash system folder. But maybe it isn't possible I don't know. I'm now trying something but it probably won't work.

Not some tutorial or something to install it, it was a question, as he mentions that works with ADB
Why do you guys keep posting these questions in development section? Its clearly written that its a system dump from the new Beta update.
ITS IS NOT A ROM, this is not ready for users to flash, this is a dump for developers to work with and hopefully create a working flashable ROM.
Please dont spam and wait for a flashable version.
People just dont like to read op or comments, anyway this will probably go out of beta in a week or two, same as last update did.Why such haste then, just dont brick your phones guys by trying to get this FW in weird ways, there will be a flashable soon
I don't know if it's possible to extract the boot.img without su privileges, if it is can someone provide me with how to do it and I'll gladly help.
And yeah, it's pretty obvious that this isn't a rom but it's harmless in the sense that in the current state, nobody can actually flash anything accidentally and brick their phone. So, I'm leaving it up as it is and people can do whatever they want, I'd be happy if a rom could be made out of this but I certainly don't pretend to have the skills to do it myself which is also why I'm only sharing what I can.

Help, newbie questions before installing new ROMs/Recovery System (Xiaomi Redmi 4X)

As stated on the topic I'm a newbie in the world of installing new roms, etc on android phones and I haven't done it before cause I'm a bit scared by the whole thing (I don't want to end up with a brick), I managed to install a custom recovery system on an old samsung and a new ROM, yet with Xiaomi even if it might be the same looks a bit different, so before proceeding to do anything with my current phone I have a couple of newbie questions:
-Can FastBoot be broken somehow?
-Can I use ROMs of other devices (Besides of the Redmi 4x)?
-Can I somehow break the phone irremediably?
-If so, what should I avoid to prevent it?
-Is a custom recovery necessary, or can I use default Xiaomi's one?
-What's the best recovery?
-If I install recovery via fast boot, do I need to root my device?
-What tools should I look forward to use on linux (Ubuntu)?
Those are my questions for now, if you wanna say anything else that should be taken into consideration, feel free, also if you wanna share some useful guide.
First off a little bit of advice don't ask so many questions no one is likely to answer you because unless the person is really bored and has an hour to spare he will not answer you format your question and ask just a couple of questions that are most vital to what you are doing. Also do some research on your own. Your more out to get some help if someone can see you have put forth a little effort. Cheer's

Ok Here you go..

don't use fastboot.. instead use custom recovery for anything.. wether you're reverting back to MIUI from custom ROM or anything else. Use Fastboot option to Flash recovery only. then your FastBoot will be safe

Do keep track of version of firmware you have installed. I must have hard bricked my Mi 6X, by trying to install any version of firmware from TWRP, after reboot it was dead.
It's been almost a month, still have to wait till November when I next goto China, hopefully I can claim warranty for that, I bought it in China. Read on Baidu Tieba, many people has similar issue, have to replace the whole logic board.

None. Just be careful with flashing of firmware. Don't "roll back" to older firmware, like I did, unknowingly.

None. Just be careful with flashing of firmware. Don't "roll back" to older firmware, like I did, unknowingly.

about the "anti rollback" (I won't call it a feature), you should dig it further.
as an example to check whether or not a device had that ARB thing can be seen here:
https://en.miui.com/thread-3283544-1-1.html
to be fair, the ARB issue should concern to every single xiaomi device which still receiving xiaomi support (updates)
If I have MIUI10 8.8.23 EU and flash to AEX may it brick because of ARB???
Thanks in advance

please don't take this as an offense (english is not my first language), I just need to send the point
not every rom /firmware shipped by xiaomi had the "Anti Roll Back" (ARB), I personally owning the Mi 6x and had rolled-back from 9.5.11.0 to 9.5.7.0 without any issue.
I've completely forgotten since when did xiaomi implemented this ARB, but I'd stay away from anything beyond 9.5.15.0 (since the LOS 15.1 for Mi 6x by Isaac Chen is based on 9.5.11.0, I probably don't need anything beyond 9.5.11.0).
to check whether or not our device is "infected" by the ARB, one can type this command while on fastboot mode:
"fastboot getvar anti" (without the quote marks)
if the command return <4, then it's safe to rollback.
else if the return is 4 (or greater), then it had Anti Roll-Back, and you should not roll-back.
further info can be obtained here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/how-to/faq-questions-answered-t3816185
if you just download a complete fastboot rom, I'd recommend to read this thread carefully:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...warning-update-to-recent-miui-builds-t3814895
all the treads I've mentioned are do related to the redmi note 5, but in the end I think every xiaomi device with active support from xiaomi will be facing the same fate.
I'd suggest anyone with "anti 3 or less" to refrain themselves from updating their rom, if they still intended to switching apart from miui.
saying don't roll-back from your current rom, should be safe for anybody.
but for somebody with "anti 3 or less" this can put them at disadvantage since probably the custom rom were based on something older than what they're currently using.
for Mi 6x, I can say that if you're still on 9.5.11.0 it's still safe to roll back.
I'm not quite sure when did the xiaomi started to implement the ARB on the development rom, though.
from what I've gathered so far, the ARB are also including the firmwares.
so if one had "anti 4" don't flash older firmware to their device.
the ARB matter should worth to dig further though, and maybe deserves it's own thread since I'm afraid it might discourage and confuse people when switching to custom rom.
Our device got MIUI 10 Stable on xiaomi.eu as well.

AOSP based ROMs won't brick your device. Only MIUI based ones do. Always remember to make sure you are installing latest version release when you go back to MIUI based ROMs or Stock Based ones.
Thanks
