Hi, i am sorry if i am posting into wrong forum
but i have issue with tasker i have couple program in there very simple ones based on location and simple switch for example to silent and back to sound when i am and exit certain location and so on. and after i think last update the profiles does not activate any more. i havent done anything in tasker did not added the profiles are on and the location services are on. i have version 4.8u1m. do you know what could have happened? thanks
In your settings in accessibility do you have tasker turned on. Also in tasker itself go to preferences monitor and make sure use new cell Api is checked .
Maybe you switched off tasker? Long press the Tasker icon in the app in the upper left corner. If it's not colored it's switched off

That was it for me! Thanks!!
I have no power saving settings on like aggressive doze or close high powered apps.
Ill just let my 3T's screen turn off and send an email to my gmail account from my work email. I will not get a notification unless I turn on the screen.
Yes, I have this issue only with Gmail, Oxygen 4.0.2.
Same here.
It happens with WhatsApp as well but I hadn't had time to troubleshoot it.

Gmail/Inbox use normal priority notifications as opposed to high priority, therefore will never bypass Doze. For some odd reason however, selecting Do Not Optimize makes no difference. This issue is not specific to the 3T.
I have noticed this too with whatsapp i can't remember if it started happening on 4.0.2 or when i flashed a different kernel, probably 4.0.2 related
I have exactly the same issue ... mostly with gmail and possibly with other apps like Whatsapp (I need to use my phone more to be sure) but surely and deeply with gmail.
Sometimes I receive push notifications on my OnePlus3T (running OOS 4.0.2 and unrooted) flawlessly, sometimes it takes a delay from one minutes to several, sometimes I need to wake up my phone (with the Jedi move of waving my hand over the proximity sensor) and sometimes I need to open the gmail app and force the update with a slide.
I think I also notice a random delay for the notification even if the screen is on and the phone in use, which seems to exculpate the doze mode but I'm not 100% sure and it is much more rare.
This is really annoying to me as I didn't have this issue with my old Nexus 5 and which I don't have on my work iPhone. I try to convince myself that it is not a big deal but it's not easy ^^.
I tried to contact Google on this but they weren't helpful on that matter.

There a 120 pages post on the OnePlus forum about this issue on the OnePlus 3, even before OOS 4.
Can you tell me where is the "Do Not Optimize" option you're talking about (despite it is not working, strangely) thanks !
if you are ready to sacrifice a little bit of battery life, you can turn off Doze. You would need to do that in 2 places.
1. Settings -> Battery -> Three dots top right -> Aggressive doze and app hibernation -> Turn off
2. Settings -> About Phone -> Keep taping Build Number until phone marks you as a developer -> Go back one screen -> Developer Options -> Doze mode -> Turn off
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip.
I will give it a try but read on the OnePlus forum that it was not really a game changer.
I hope people working on Android know about this "feature" and will correct it soon if it has an impact on all Android N users !
I have that same issue.
Everything was working for me perfectly then all of sudden. Notification for Gmail Google plus and WhatsApp stops working no matter I am on mobile network or WiFi.
It work only when I open the app
I am on RR Rom
The easiest fix I found for my work email (Nine), which wasn't getting timely push notifications... was to just turn off battery optimization for this app. That made it perfect and instant notifications again. Presumably it uses more battery in this mode, but I still need it.

How exactly does one turn off optimization? I can't find that option. Thanks

I guess this is issue with number of handsets, I am facing this issue in my leeco LE 2 as well. Thinking of upgrading to op3t just for this issue but found this thread, what a bummer.

It's kindof hidden:
Go to Settings-> Battery-> 3 dots in upper right
Then in Battery Optimization section, select 'All apps' from the pulldown selector at top.
Then find your app and change it to 'not optimized'

Yes it was kind of like an easter egg but I found it. Notifications are coming in on time so far I hope that's fixed the problem. Thank you

I dont find Gmail in the listed app?
In the Battery Menu/3 dots I don't have a Battery Optimisation Section but 2 settings (with my own translation from French to English, sorry about that) :
- apps hibernation & doze
- greedy application management
In the first option, there's a selector to activate or not the Apps hibernation & aggressive doze --> I disabled the option (and one can choose the app to optimize or not, but gmail is not on the list)
In the second option, I have a selector to allow to shutdown automatically "greedy" apps --> I disabled the option
However, in the Applications menu, while choosing the wheel then the Special Access Menu, there's an option for "Battery Optimisation" in which one can choose - one by one - the Apps that are optimised or not.
Anyway, for me, disabling the Doze mode in the Developper options seems to solve the problem with Gmail but i still have issues with delayed/lost notifications for other Apps (Twitter, Le Monde, ...).
And I'm running 4.0.3

That's weird, I do have Gmail listed in mine. Make sure you set it to show all apps.
Also, I haven't done anything unusual with Gmail, like converted it to a system app, for example. It was flashed as part of Gapps Micro.
FI, just posted a bug report on that issue : https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/random-delay-with-push-notificatio-ns.500958/
How launch app when screen is off and security lock? (I want the radio to wake me up) I try: 1. Secure settings --> Configuration:Screen & Keyboard Light On (10sek) 2. Wait 1sek 3. Show Scene --> Name: Popup ,Display As: Activity 4. launch App: "(in my case is "eskaGO" This task try launch this app but can't launch to the end. When Task is end nothing happened. But when I manually unlock screen and see what app work in background I see this app. It's look like this task try launche app but can't launch it to the end.
I try too with AutoLunch but is this same.
Can anybody help??

This not solves the problem. I don't need this only in home. I a lot travelling.
I try with secureTask plugin with off and on keyguard but this disable all securelock.
Well it sounds like the app just can't launch over the keyguard, so the task can't complete till the phone is unlocked. If you're comfortable with it, you can change the timeout (time it takes for the lock to be activated) to a really high number before you go to sleep, then after the app wakes you up, have it changed back to normal.
Thanks for solution but this not solve the problem. In Your idea every day before I go to sleep (when I activate alarm) I should count how many time screen should be unlock. I not everyday wake on this same time or it's time when I stay 1-2 weeks in this same place and wake up every day in this same time.
Every time when I set alarm I must count and set unlock screen Is not good idea.
Maybe somone else have Idea how to launch it?

which counting are you talking about? I think he meant setting the grace time of lock screen to something like 7*24 hours, that way even if screen is off, you don't really engage the lock.
This could be a security drawback and might affect your Moto display/Samsung Always screen on function if you have them.
OK maybe I something wrong understand.
Maybe You can write how I should configure this task? It will be very helpful to me
Now in task profile I set time to start and end my alarm task.

When the screen is turned off, it takes time to activate the keyguard/lock. Usually it's set to 1 second or less, so as soon as the display is off, the lockscreen is on. This can be changed (and in fact this is what Smart Lock does) so it won't activate as fast. Smart lock won't work in your conditions, so we can use Tasker plugins.
You need to get the plugin Secure Task if you are not rooted, Secure Settings if you are. Secure Task needs permissions granted in ADB, but the Help will explain the process.
Once you have it working, you can add the "secure settings" action for lockscreen timeout (see screenshots, it may be called something different on your device.)
There's a read action as well as write, you should read the initial value before changing it, save it, and restore it after the alarm goes off.
(In the Secure Settings plugin it's called Device Settings but other than that similar.)
Thanks for this
Now I undarstand that:
I have other profile where is task what will launch my app and where I set time to start this profile.
If I want that profile work - app launch correctly - I must before I go sleep launch other task (this what You wrote) what don't secure lock my screen.
Right? Did I understood correctly?
Yes, if you have a sleep profile, or if not, set it to activate at 2230 or whenever your bedtime is. The task will simply be Secure Task - secure settings - Read secure lockscreen_timeout (or whatever your device shows), so you can have a global variable of the typical timeout. Then Write secure lockscreen_timeout 99999999, as I posted in the screen shots.
And then have your wake up task activate at 7 or whenever, and then redo the lock timeout to the saved variable.
Ok,
But for example:
1. If I set this task to start 23:30 but since 23:10 i will not touch my phone this not work because screen still wil be secure lock ?
2. If I set this task to start earlier for ex. 21:00. On this time my phone is not protect if some one stole it and any one who get my phone will be have full access. Not always in this same time I will in the home.
Idea to solve my problem is good maybe someone else will need it.
For me is not good
It's not solve my problem
Maybe somone else have any idea how I can launch app when screen is secure lock

I don't know what happened because to March everything working in my phone. In March I musted do factory reset and launch app in secure screen stoped working ;/
Earlier I use to tasker autoinput plugin and was working , now it write that autoinput can't unlock screen :|
So maybe something was changed/app had update and to launch app in secure screen now is other plugin
hmm that's weird. You must have done/changed something. I don't think any app, especially Tasker has changed anything since then.

I know that that is weird. But I don't know what happened because I done nothing special. Just made a task and profile and that was working. Earlier when I changed Rom and restore task everthing work good. Now stop working and I dont know why :|
Better... When this stop working I had try allone and try searching solution.
I made task like this:
1. Secure Settings - Configuration: Screen & Keyboard Light 10sek
2. Status Bar Set Expanded
3. Launch App: eskaGO
4. Wait 10 sek
5. Autoinput Action - Configuration Type: Text Value: Tasker
6. Autoinput Global Action - Configuration Action: Home
And this WORKED! it worked but every second time. Exactly the second time.
Because I thinked that is problem with my phone I made factory reset one more time and this it stopped working completely.
So I don't want belive that so powerful app like Tasker where is so much plugin and a lot of people who very good know this aplication that no one find solution for this.
Sorry I still don't understand your explanation...
If I have it right, you are trying to make an alarm clock out of the radio app.
Here is what I did to implement this idea:
trigger:
- display off
task:
launch app: notepad
alert: beep
result:
as soon as the screen turns off, I heard the beep. When I turned on the screen, I saw notepad app in the foreground.
requirement:
you will need to add something to trigger this during screen off. That extra condition should not turn on the screen. If it does, you should re-consider this whole condition.
The fact that notepad is running in foreground after unlocking means that the task was carried out as intended. If you can run the radio app, the playing should be turned on automatically the moment the app starts, or error you will have radio app running without actually doing anything.
if all these fail, please post a screenshot of your profile, task and log.
good luck!
How about using Appcloner for this? You clone the app and give it the capability to run on to of the lock screen. That's it. Good luck.

Sure. Under display options, then choose " show app on lock screen".
Having used the phone for a week now, no major issues, but just one thing annoying me.
Some apps' notification are not received when my screen is off. Once I wake up my phone, the messages are then received and shown. But some apps (like WhatsApp, Messages) are working fine.
I've checked all the battery optimization settings for those affected apps but had no clues why they are not working the way they should. These apps are working fine in my other devices.
Appreciate any suggetsions.
Sounds like what I experience with OnePlus phones...something they did to make the battery last longer between charging cycles. Not much you can do. If they allowed background apps to work as we wish they would the battery life would stink and people would complain and sales would drop.
In my experience this depends on the system mode you select under settings/battery. For me in the dynamic mode notifications appear without delay, but some appear only when I turn on the screen in the durable mode.

It's a setting from security and lockscreen. Press the clog at the right of screen lock. There you have a setting called notifications on lockscreen. Set it to show all notifications
Disable adaptive notifications. This should fix the issue.

no, it's not related to whether notification is showing in lock screen or not. the symptom is that only when i wake up the phone, the notification will then be received. i can see from the firewall log that google service framework accessed data as soon as the phone is awake.

Like the title say, I'm in trouble getting the notification of any app I install : I disabled vivo.pem as suggested in one other thread and allow notofication per single app (that were turned off before) and last disabled the background battery optimization for those apps.
No luck after all, as nothing show up when I send whatsapp mess e.g.
Any ideas?

I had to use the uninstall command on vivo.pem to get my notifications to work, disable didn't help me on the latest firmware.
Also, check the app permissions, hold down app, info, app permissions.
Turn off (remove permissions if app isn't used)
Single permission settings (turn all on the switches), you can also review permissions
Go back 2 screens and select notifications, select all sliders and then check your desired app notification is going out via priority display.
Finally go to settings, battery, background power consumption management, and change the setting for the app you want to not sleep by choosing high background power usage.
So annoying, I know, too many settings and easy to forget one
Good luck!

Thanks for the time spent in the long answer; however still no notifications on the tested app (whatsaap) with all the reccomended settings.
Is since 2015 I think that I don't have a chinese firmware phone and the things have changed, in fact, before, was enough to install play store and all the notification were received without further settings.

Hey Guys,
i also did every setting as told and my Notification for especially WhatsApp isn't working at all.
Sometimes it does, but then all of a sudden it just refreshes when I open the App itself.
I even put it down in the Bar with the 5 Main Apps, in hope those would be refreshed or kept alive in the Background.
Not sure anyway what you mean with uninstalling vivo.pem.
Suckz kind of, because apart from that it really is a great Phone... aside from Android Auto not working.

You have to plug in phone on computerand run ADB command to uninstall vivo.pem.
Vivo.pem is a system that aggressively shut down apps to save battery power, to much shut downs and notifications stop working.
Check the thread "Origin Os initail review" on here and you will find out how to do it. Takes only 10 minutes

After doing the uninstalling did it stop the issue?
I uninstalled, rather than disabled, their power saving vivo.pem, ensured all my apps had priority permissions for notifications, disabled battery saving, and added them to 'autostart' in their respective permissions, and I get proper notifications for all the social media and messaging apps. The only small glitch come with Google Messages which won't display notifications in system wide dark mode. You can get around that by enabling the 'chat bubbles' option in Google Messages settings as they do work in dark mode.
Notifications are not the only issue , i cannot select Mock gps location app in Developer Mode ...
I press on the app i want to use ,but nothing happend , the app is not selected .
Anyone noticed that too ?
Thanks
There is no need to uninstall vivo.pem, I think. Just some few steps:
1. Go to recent apps and lock it.
2. Settings -> Apps & permissions -> App manager -> WhatsApp -> Permissions -> Single permission settings -> Autostart and Startup enabled.
3. Settings -> Battery -> Background power consumption management -> WhatsApp -> Select high background power usage.
4. Settings -> Battery -> More settings -> Disable Sleep mode.
Works fine for me.
