[solved] get rid of announcement icon for system upgrade - Xperia Z4/Z3+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have unlocked the bootloader of my E6533, installes TWRP recovery and Magisk.
Now I can run Tasker and Titanium Backup
32.4.A.1.54 running
I am looking for a way to delete the upgrade system icon in the upper left corner of the display.
I tried to update but as teh BL is unlocked the sony tools do not work.
Can anyone please tell me the name of app I need to delete?
thank you

I managed to freeze "Systemupdate" and the icon disappeared.

[Q] Polaris office port install qiestion

Hello. I found a Polaris office 5 link which will work with rooted devices http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611723. Installed as a systems app. I'm rooted, locked BL. After flashing in TWRP it will be there. Trying to open it gives the unfortunately app has stopped message. Looking to clear data in apps it shows no data at all. I go to root explorer find the apk, run in, install new and whamo - works great, no watermark, nothing. However, this is where the problem is, once I restart phone it is back to being uninstalled. It's still in system apps and libs are still there, permission are set. I'm not sure if I missed something. Followed the directions. Searched all over. Is this something to do with being rooted but still having a locked BL? If anyone knows the reason I know where the thank you button is.

[Q] Remove Xperia system update notification?

I'm getting this notification about the system update, and it is persistent.
I've tried checking the box "do not remind me about this update " and restarting several times.
I do not wish to update, in case a root method comes out for the old fw version.
So how do I remove this notification?
Go to Settings>Apps>All>Update Center
And untick show notifications. Hope it works for you

After finding out it's called something else in my language, it worked. Thanks!

For a weary traveler with the same problem this is what I did: I am rooted and installed titanium backup. open titanium backup, search for update and wipe data for update service 1.0 and software update. Then freeze both apps and you will not have any problem with the install file downloading. Hope that helps.
How can I disable the update notification on my Z5 Compact running 5.1, I don't want to go to Marshmallow
and this update at the top has been there for ever
Thanks

I've no data atm on the handset, do you mean using Titanium backup ?
If so i'll need to wait until Thursday until my data is renewed, I was hoping on 5.1 there was a setting I could change as this is an old thread

I Think digestive didn't bother to read that in 5.1.1 the app disable notification is greyed out

The advice for Titanium is a load of Tosh, never did nothing

this worked for me, no root, you have to hide com.sonyericsson.updatecenter
adb shell
pm hide com.sonyericsson.updatecenter
exit
adb reboot
There is no update center in L.
You can close the permanent notification with force stopping Software Update app in Settings/All.

I have a rooted xperia z5 compact and this worked for me!
Try this:
About:1.You can use the Notify Block
2.In the presence of rooting:
2.1. Using the application ® Root Explorer (File Manager), follow the path: system/priv-ap/UpdateCenter/ and delete UpdateCenter.apk
2.2. Using the application ® Titanium Backup remove\freeze "software Update".
The first reply mentions Settings -> Apps -> All, but there is NO "All", so that suggestion does not help.

cant not get rid if update notification, also how to get rid of amazon apps??

Finally got access to a PC and rooted and flashed recovery on my R1 but I tried the steps to get rid of the lockscreen apps and OTA update. Is it possible to downgrade a system app without root?

After a system update a few months ago the google app on system got upgraded to the new version that got rid of the "swipe to dismiss" cards feature that I really like.
In the past I just disabled store updates to stay on that version, but that doesn't work any more.
I'v got an old apk from apkmirror, but when I try to install it, it just says "app not installed".
This method using ADB doesn't work either (aparrently apps installed this way have to be debuggable now?)

Is there a way to do it without root? Alternatively is it possible to run the older apk alongside the newer, system apk?
No and it depents.
From withing your recovery yes. But I asume you are fully stock with locked bootloader and default recovery.

Remove bloatware from CN android 10

Guys is there a way to remove systems app ? Neo voice , browser , phone , messages , the left panel on the homescreen and so on ...
Thanks for your time
When I used 3.30 I managed to freeze most of the bloatware with Titanium Backup. It's risky to just remove a system app.
How do I completely deactivate the left panel
