T719 UK - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I have a Samsung tab S2 T719 that is perma stuck in bootloop. Originally the recovery mode was working but i probally messed that up aswel by flashing some TWRP custom recovery.. it now bootloops even when i turn it on in recovery mode. I am not sure if the tablet has USB debugging on.. also, I just tried to flash another stock nougat firmware on to it via odin and it passed but when i turn it on it has the same bootloop issue. Is there anything i can do to it ? the tablet is in brilliant condition physically and it would be a shame to sell it for parts or bin it >_< Regards

You need the correct recovery mode before ROM. After flashing TWRP, go to TWRP, backup EFS, format data, then flash ROM. Don't boot after flashing TWRP, just go directly from download mode to recovery mode

I flashed a working TWRP now and thats all dandy and it works and then i followed ur steps and after i flashed the rom i tried to turn it on and it continues the endless bootloop after it says ''installing applications''... it did exactly the same with all roms i tried.

Could u try another ROM, if it's still bootloop then maybe hardware problem.

Can't install TWRP on S3 mini (GT-i8190N)

Hi all,
I'm trying to install Cyanogenmod following techbeasts.com tutorial but I'm stuck at the first step : installingTWRP (or CWM).
I followed precisely all the instructions (I allow debugging mode, I installed samsung drivers, I start the phone in download mode, I connect it with OEM cable, I start Odin, it sees the phone, I select the tar.md5 file.), Odin confirms it went well (green box writing "PASS"), but when I try to boot the recovery mode by holding Volume up + Home + Power it seems to boot another recovery software that doesn't offer a backup or a flashing options: "Android system recovery <3e>"
Can't get it to run TWRP or CWM... Can't install the supersu package.
What I'm I doing wrong? Can someone help?
Try to untick Auto Reboot option from odin. I had similiar issues and reason was if you have updated your phone with OTA-updates then it installs some kind of backup script. When your phone boots again after you had installed twrp it installs stock recovery during boot. So untick autoreboot, flash twrp and force boot straight to recovery without letting phone boot to OS. You can also try to pull battery out, put it back and then boot into recovery mode.
Sorry my english and try to understand.

Great it worked, thanks a lot !
But now I'm stuck on the next step : flashing CM11
I rooted my phone, booted TWRP, chose "install>cm11" (the zip downloaded from nova fusion) but it says "failed" after a few sec...
I would post my TWRP log but the forum prevents me doing so...
Well I get few things that you could check first.
1. Do factory reset for example from twrp. Factory reset is needed/recommended before installing custom rom from offical OS.
2. Sometimes just installing fails almost immediately if you have ticked check zip signature.
After you have installed new rom clear cache and davilk cache just in case. I'll do that every time if I install or update custom roms. Also don't forget to install right gapps package after you have installed rom.
Sorry my english and try to understand.
ok just realized i downloaded the wrong cm image (the odin one, not the recovery)
everything running smooth now
Okay happy to hear that everything is fine now. Happy playing with custom roms

(SOLVED) Xperia Z internal storage FULLY WIPED (everything)

So this is what happened:
I wanted to flash a custom rom on my xperia Z.
I did what i have to do like unlocking the bootloader, rooting and installing a custom recovery.
I already downloaded my desired custom rom. When I entered into custom recovery I wiped everything as in everything under the Wipe menu of TWRP. After that I went to reboot to recovery. Unfortunately the phone did not reboot anymore. Just stucked at the sony logo. Now it cannot go to fastboot, flashmode or custom recovery. My computer cannot detect the phone as well.
Is there any way that I can still flash rom into my phone with the above situation?
Any help is much appreciated. Tia!

Are u sure you've installed the correct drivers (fastboot, flashmode, adb)? If so, fastboot any custom kernel (with recovery) and you'll have recovery.
You wiped system, but I assume you had xzdualrecovery installed, and since it installs in system you lose recovery after wiping system and reboot.
Kernel with recovery is best option, you can safely wipe since kernel does not get wiped (only overwritten by rom or other kernel)
Hi langveld! Thank you for your reply..But i cannot go into fastboot.. Will it still do?

i guess you can only use the flashtools now, first try selecting kernel only for flashing without wiping anything. And if that doesnt work, then you have to flash the whole firmware. try holding vol down when connecting, i got into fastboot mode like that last time. good luck

Stuck on Samsung logo bootscreen after flashing TWRP through Odin (N920CD)

I have SM-N920CD variant and on stock Android M 6.0.1, Region:THR CSC:N920COJV2BPBA
I tried to flash TWRP through Odin in order to root and flash SkyHigh kernel but got stuck on Samsung logo bootscreen after flashing, I re-flashed my stock firmware to revive my phone and got it back working. I tried two different versions of Odin "Odin3 v3.10.7 and Odin3_v3.10.6" but still same results, I also used different PCs and downloaded TWRP twice.
Am I doing anything wrong or it is just me?
Did you try booting back to recovery and cleaning cache and rebooting. Sounds a little too basic I know but it has worked for me often enough. Just a thought.

Try flashing again - this time ensure keep system as "read-only" option when you first flash TWRP. Then in TWRP recovery mode (straight after flashing & before rebooting), ensure that "system" is ticked/selected in the "Mount" option in TWRP menu - now reboot to system (you will need to tick/select "system" in Mount option each time if you boot into TWRP recovery mode).

I can't even get to recovery, I can either get to download mode or stuck on bootscreen. I think it is the recovery getting messed up.

I tried to enter recovery before rebooting and after flashing but with no luck. I assume to use the typical method (power+up+home). Am I missing something?

Start all over again by re-flashing back to stock ROM/stock recovery and try again via Odin to flash TWRP - Make sure to go into recovery (TWRP) mode away straight away by 'power+vol up+home' buttons rather than booting into system.
Then mount system on in TWRP before rebooting to system - This worked for me, no probs since.
Also, ensure you have the correct TWRP .tar for your model (and ??maybe try an older Odin version for flashing TWRP).
Flash this TWRP through Odin:

I tried that but nothing happened, it kept me on download mode otherwise system is booting.
Is it possible to enter recovery directly from download mode without power off?

I don't think you can go from download mode directly to TWRP recovery mode without power off.......... Try re-booting from download mode but before it re-starts quickly hold 'power+vol up+home'.
Have you tried starting from scratch i.e back to stock recovery, and tried flashing with an older version of Odin?

I tried from scratch but with same results. Could it be ROM related?

all this with the Samsung Stock ROM
but at the moment i install Lineage ROM, it works immediately
tried my best to make it work with samsung stock rom, but i couldn't

Only able to access fastboot, boot and recovery mode both fail.

Hello Guys,
Yesterday I tried to root my Moto 2g.
Unlocked it's bootloader,Installed Twrp and installed supersu. Also downloaded a custom mod(the most famous one I guess) and installed it,only to find out that the phone would no longer boot
but keep looping on the unlocked bootloader warning screen. While thinking that I had downloaded a non-compatible mod I Installed another one. After that, booting the phone would Instantly
take me to the recovery mode and keep looping the Teamwin logo.
I decided not to mess anymore with it and reinstall the stock firmware for moto 2g. After Installing it the Motorola logo comes up and then I am taken to the fastboot screen once again with the error saying:
"Fastboot reason,Fell through from boot recovery mode".Tried to flash CWM to see If I could get into recovery mode from there but I would get CWM logo loops exactly the same way they appeared with Teamwin logo.
Seems like phone is dead to me but still have a bit of hope, although the only place I can get is fastboot.
Edit:I tried to fastboot flash boot boot.img the stock image and I got and error saying that boot.img(10mb) exceeded the partition limit

try flashing the whole Stock Firmware
It might help,
U said u flashed a MOD over stock ROM?
If so, u should have boot first Just After unlocking the bootloader before Flashing any MODs

Ok let me explain the situation better.Last night I used a stock firmware I found and flashed it.When I tried to boot I would see motorola logo once
fore boot mode,Then it would go to recovery so I would see it for a second time and then I would see teamwin logo looping so the phone was not
able to get into recovery mode but only into bootloader.
After That I flashed CWM and the same thing would happen with CWM logo looping now in recovery mode.
Today I woke up and flashed CWM again, and for some reason I could get into CWM and use it normally
So what I did is Installed Supersu and a mod for my xt1068 and tried to boot but phone stuck in the same endless loop again and I also cant get
into CWM again as its logo keeps flashing instead of taking me into the menu.
I believe there is an error with my data folder or partition or w/e.
Most of all I want to be able to get into CWM again

So u are not able to get into Recovery
And u can get to Fast boot Mode?
If yes Flash TWRP latest(3..1.0-0)
Boot into TWRP
Reset or Install any Custom ROM like LiniageOS or AOSP
I think it's the problem with SuperSU?
Which MOD did u install?

Thanks for the replies,I managed to solve the problem and install Cyanogenmod.I guess everything came up to this:
After the first time I installed twrp I decided to wipe my data folder but somehow it was deleted and the partition became raw type which caused
all the bootlooping problems.
Using CWM I was able to get into recovery mode and then I chose to format my data folder and sd card(as ext4 I guess) and the data folder was
recreated.
After that I normally flashed Cyanogenmod and device booted just fine

No boot, no recovery, no connection, no anything.

Hi,
so I was about to flash a new ROM to my Z3C, because I was having some trouble connecting the phone to pc (drivers etc are ALL installed and have beend reinstalled too).
Since my phone was already running on .291, I skipped flashing stock rom, went to recovery, did a wipe, flashed 3.1.1.0 TWRP FOTA Kernel, flashed ROM, booted ROM (fine), forgot to flash GApps, went back to reco... Wait? No more recovery? Hmm.. Let's try booting system. OK! Went to settings and did a wipe. It took me into an older version of TWRP (I don't know exactly, something like 3.0.2.8?!), where I did the wipe myself (Data, Cache, System). I did system wipe because I wanted to flash the 3.1.1.0 FOTA TWRP once again (since it seemed to be incorrectly installed) and then install the ROM freshly. So, after installing TWRP (which was "successful") I tried to restart recovery to install the OS. WHAT? Again no recovery? Damn.. Now there's no more system to boot from.
Then I tried to put the phone into Flash-/Fastboot mode, to install the stock rom and start over again. Trying to Hold Vol+/- while plugging in USB doesn't do sh*t. The green/blue LED pops up for a sec and then disappears instantly. Entering recovery with hardbutton method won't work either.
Now I'm stuck with a phone, that can't do anything.. Is there any way to recover the phone?
I appreciate any kind of help & thanks in advice,
furi
NVM! What 'r the chances of 3 different usb cables being broken? LOL. Sorry for being stupid ._________.
