I backed up dtbo partition and then tried to backup other partitions but it's giving me this error and failing. I'm using the trwp that I got from the xda twrp flash guide. Please help.
Anyone?
same prob on k20 pro still no solution. RIP
I had the same problem and a simple solution:
Copy your TWRP backup from phone to you PC.
Install the ROM you would restore, after boot set your pin/pattern.
Reboot to TWRP and TWRP asks for your pin/pattern.
Copy your backup back to phone.
Restore backup.
It should work now.
Maybe check the twrp log.
I had the same error and it was because i had dual app feature turned on for an app.
I also read it can happen even if you don't use that feature.

I am on rooted, locked bootloader, CE 12.1. A. 0. 266 (4.3). After rooting and relocking bootloader, I installed cwm and twrp. everything seemed fine. But, when I checked cwm, to backup, it showed ''can't mount system''. Then i opened twrp and saw that twrp performed backup correctly. but when i started restore to test my backup in twrp, it showed error, "can't unmount system". I did a fresh backup and again repeated the procedure, but still had no results. In short, my cwm and twrp isn't working. Please help me.
It happens like that on 4.3, try this:

I had reboots in Folder Mount app every time it tried to mount folders. And after applying it it works like a charm, no more reboots.
If you don''t know how to aplly this, here you go:
1. Connect your phone to PC with debbuging ON
2. If you have SuperSU on your phone run supersu.bat, if you have Superuser, then run Superuser.bat.
3. Follow the instructions on the script, they're pretty simple.
4. Tell me if it worked
@Patrol619: Actually my phone doesn't suffer from any reboot problem after mounting folders. I am familiar with that method since we faced it in Xzisten rom. My problem is with CWM and TWRP. they simply can't mount the system.
No, it didn't work. I tried two times.

Good to know, thanks I thought it will work.
There is a file on my xt1068 with path /data/data/com.google.chrome/app_webview/Cache/8f7f69bc88662934_0 .I am unable to delete this file through any method. It is not visible in es file explorer or any other file manager,i have tried deleting the folder but it fails even after providing root permissions.I have tried deleting it by wiping data partition via TWRP and CWM but both failed.I also tried deleting it using aroma file manager and TWRP's flile manager but no luck.Due to this file i can't create or restore nandroid backup. While installing any new ROM i need to go to the TWRP's file manager and i manually delete all the folder's except the one i mentioned above,to perform a clean install.I have also tried restoring to stock firmaware using fastboot but after installation of rom the file still remains there.
My TWRP always shows this message:"E:Unable to stat '/data/data/com.google.chrome/app_webview/Cache/8f7f69bc88662934_0'
Please help me with this.
I would also be interested in a solution as I have a similar / same problem.
If I try and delete it via an adb shell I get : "rm failed for org.mozilla.firefox.old, I/O error"
Some threads have said the problem might be solvable by repairing the partition using tools like fsck.
I've unmounted the /data partition and tried to use fsck.f2fs from the recovery (TWRP) but get this error:
Assertion failed!
[fsck_chk_node_blk: 187] ni.blk_addr >= SM_I(sbi)->main_blkaddr
I'd like to solve this problem so i can again make nandroid backups and play around with my phone.
Thanks for the help
Daniel
I have the same problem but I think I have all the emmc memory as Read-Only, because I can't change the Recovery (vía fastboot) or flash another ROM or restore a Backup or even format anything.
I can enter to TWRP and Fastboot mode but any change I made is saved..

corrupted emmc memory -- this could be because a set to read only.... or true failure - no cures (yet) for this and tbh the rumoured way is by linux commands to set permissions again and no one seems to have progressed or got results in last 9 months or so.
It magically got solved after flashing radium redefined ROM.
Hi all,
I used the SRK Tool recently to TWRP and Root.
All was going well until I used hisuite to restore my phone.
It failed in restoring one app and it created a cache file in data/data, tried deleting the file in ES File Explorer, SD Maid to no avail.
So I went to format the partitions in TWRP.
The phone won't start (im guessing there is no OS so I am looking for the stock rom as the hisuite recovery doesnt work as well.)
TRWP Factory Reset is still showing the same following error
Updating partition details...
Error opening: '/data/data/renamedeleteapp/app_xwalkcore/Default/Cache/5de9a45e57c756c2_0' (No such file or directory)

Anyone able to shed some light on how I can fix this corrupted partition and reload an OS so my phone works again?
Thanks!!!
the huawei erecovery system doesnt seem to be working either.
Nor does the hisuite recovery. Asking me to bring it to the service center
Managed to flash the new world ROM but the partition error still persisting. Anyone?
I would say probably your best bet is to use the stock rom here ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/stock-rom-dload-file-p9-eva-l09-b136-t3382818 to restore completely to stock and then start again from scratch
I made an ADB backup via TWRP of each partition (boot, system, data, cache) individually direct to my PC prior to flashing a new ROM. After flashing the new ROM, I realized I forgot to backup texts and wifi netwroks via Titanium Backup. I tried to restore each partition so I could go back and copy the texts and wifi networks but it didn't work. TWRP reported no OS installed and it didn't boot either. I did update the bootloader after I created the backup and am not sure if that's why it's failing.
Is there a way to extract the texts and wifi networks from the backed up file(s)? Do I need to flash a previous bootloader to get the backup to work?
Thanks

I would say no but I'm drunk at the moment:laugh:. WiFi and text should be a part of data part of the backup. I see that you backup data so it should be there but I don't think you can do it the way you tried. Let's see what smarter people have to say.

Nope, I've never heard of a way to extract anything from a TWRP backup file without restoring it. I've never had to flash a different bootloader to get a TWRP restore to work, even after the bootloader was upgraded by the new ROM I installed. I assume that the bootloader is restored when restoring the TWRP backup. How did you restore the backup? Did you restore the entire backup (all of the partitions) at the same time or try to do them one at a time? I've only had luck with restoring the entire backup at the same time.

The first backup I made which had all the partitions in one file didn't seem to work properly as it did not copy the file locally to the PC. I tried it again but created a separate file for each partition which seemed to work so I have 4 files in total. I restored the files in this order: boot, system, data, cache. When it finished I got a message when exiting TWRP that there was no OS installed. I rebooted anyway and it failed.
Is there any way of restoring it to an emulator running on the PC?

It's likely too late for this now but I've backed up to and restored from a single file on my PC by following this guide quite a few times in the past without any issue. My thoughts are if the files won't restore to your phone they probably won't restore to an emulator either but I honestly have no experience with emulators.
Hi, I recently made an adb backup through twrp and now want to open the file with droid explorer. It asks for a password, when entering the one I had on the phone it doesn't open, I even tried restoring it through twrp -> didn't work, with booted phone it asked too for a password -> also didn't work. Do you guys know if twrp has a password which it sets automatically?

In the recovery terminal with the restored backup, delete "/data/system/locksettings.db". That should allow you to boot to system without a password. There is a benefit to removing PIN/pattern locks before making backups.

Getting Failed to clear BCB message: failed to open /dev/block/boot/device/by-name/misc: No such file or directory after phone crash
please help
I have no idea it helps, I had my phone crash on me and me trying my old-and-tried flashing etc. I did not have such BCB message, but it sounds like there is an issue with the partitions or partitioning.
There are nice YouTube videos at least that show how to flash the stock ROM (not giving link here for advertising etc).
it boils down to (FIRST get your data off the phone as you are going to lose this)
- TWRP being bootable
- in TWRP: factory reset, wipe data
- flash stock ROM twice: to partition A and after reboot to TWRP, to partition B. I do not know why this needs to be done, love to learn it by myself.
- flash without wiping a custom recovery if wanted.
- restore your data
