that is a n960u firmware.
u are on n960u1
you cant cross flash with regular odin. u must use odin patched.. 3.13.1b
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572
BTW ure on BL rev 2 so thats NOT good. it wont work.
you can't go back a revision: 2 to 1.
5th character beginning from the right is BootLoader revision number.
also beware that the firmware u wanted to flash will bring back att bloat( apps)
not sure if there are other warnings to yield but im sure the American SD users can chime in on.
Ohhh shuttt yeah don't work either.....any other solution like flashing Oreo or something that way i can just stop the update in the June one??

Hello everyone,
I'll keep it short. I have an AT&T galaxy s5 model number SM-G900A that I recently installed 5.0 Lollipop on OTA. However, I would now like to downgrade back to 4.4.x KitKat. I have downloaded the proper firmware and loaded it into Odin (3.10.6), however when I connect the device and hit start it fails:
Code:
<ID:0/005> Added!!
<ID:0/005> Odin engine v(ID:3.1005)..
<ID:0/005> File analysis..
<ID:0/005> SetupConnection..

<ID:0/005> recovery.img
<ID:0/005> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/005> FAIL! (Auth)
<ID:0/005> <ID:0/005>
I have already disabled reactivation lock on my phone prior to attempting this, so why does it continue to fail?
Also, I have already tried a different version of Odin (3.07) and it did not work either. Any help is appreciated.
Bootloader locked?
Not sure if that affects stock firmware with ODIN
Running ODIN as Admin?

I am running Odin as admin.
Also, im not sure what you mean by asking if the bootloader is locked. I've only been researching any of this for a few hours now and its brick wall after brick wall with the model phone I have, unfortunately.
Yes, apparently the bootloader is indeed locked for the SM-G900A galaxy s5 through att.
****. is there no other way around it, or is anyone even working on unlocking it?

According to this thread, AT&T lock their bootloaders
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/help/how-to-check-bootloader-locked-t2830046
Like I say, I'm not 100% about that affecting stock firmware with ODIN, but it basically stops you from flashing custom ROMs / rooting your phone if it's locked
EDIT - I'm not sure if there is a way around it, mine is unlocked so never had to look into it, maybe someone else can help out here
To bypass the lock, someone would have to know the secure boot key (SBK), or find an exploit

seemed to answer my questions: not possible
Bad luck, that's a sucky move
Pay that much for a phone, you should have 100% control over what runs on it
Never say never though, there are some very clever people here, I've seen locked bootloaders bypassed before
The OTA ATT update isn't forced, and you can decline it, but it's easy to just press "OK" when that message pops up.
You can buy a sim-unlocked G900T (Tmobile version) for around $300 on eBay, pop your ATT sim inside, and just forget about the G900A.
You have a ebay link?

This is why I never buy AT&T phone again. You should buy t mobile, then unlocked the phone to use AT&T. T mobile is much easier to root and flash custom rom.
Ok

I was attempting to root my phone last night and it failed miserably AFTER it deleted everything. In typical amateur fashion I did not properly back up my phone and have been trying to just get it back to stock firmware and leave it at that. It is an SM-N950U. I keep getting this error and am at a loss at what to do. I'm running Odin as administrator, I've swapped cords, swapped USB ports, tried different downloads of the firmware and Odin3, nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any idea what I may be doing wrong or what I can do to fix it? The phone displays in red text SW REV CHECK FAIL: (abl)Fused 4 > Binary 3 and Odin displays the following:

You are trying to flash v3 bootloader version on a v4 blootloader. aka downgrading. You must flash a firmware with v4 bootloader. look for a firmware with U4XXXX or S4XXXX(the XXXX will be different)
That's precisely what it was! I literally just got the beautiful, beautiful start screen! I just happened to come across a new set of files that were uploaded in May. I'm assuming things recently or the sites I was using are just way out of date. Thanks for the help!

Just use the SamFirm tool to download the files. It's super fast and reliable. Plus. note 8 is on bootloader 5 now.

Again, use the SamFirm tool to download the most recent firmware and flash it with ODIN. CRG7 is old firmware. It's from July 2018.

You just need to look at the bootloader version don't worry about the PDA. The "5" in N950USQU"5"CRG7 is important any other firmware that has 5 and higher (6,7,8) will be allowed to flash on top of it but any lower number (4,3,2,1) Won't be allowed!
Goto sammobile.com firmware section to look for your model and your Carrier's CSC (at&t, tmobile, etc). Then use samfirm.exe or frija to download the firmware.
Use Odin to flash all 4 files (that's in the firmware zip file you downloaded).
Did you use safestrap method to root or downgrade your phone or was the phone bought used?
thank you for your reply, so if i flash this firmware i just downloaded (N950USQS7DTA5_N950UOYN7DTA5_USC.zip) , will it work then? I bought my phone used, and seller said it was refurbished. And I think it was previously rooted as well. Btw I am from the Philippines. thanks!

No you can not flash SM-N950F firmware on your SM-N950U phone. Different hardware (snapdragon and exynos).
Now you can convert your SM-N950U into SM-N950U1 which should get rid of the sprint bloatware (but needs to be factory reset afterwards).

960U Sprint carrier unlocked flashing to XAA U1/ T Mobile firmware help
Question
I just got a note 9 that is originally Sprint and carrier unlocked. I am currently using a T Mobile sim, and am having trouble flashing to XAA U1. Ultimately I want to flash to T Mobile firmware. Here is my current software information:
One UI Version: 1.0
Android Version: 9
Baseband Version: N960USQS3CSK2
Android Security Patch Level: December 1, 2019
I have tried to flash the most recent stock XAA U1 from March (N960U1UES3DTB2) with modified Odin 3.14 3B, but it fails:
<ID:0/007> Odin engine v(ID:3.1401)..
<ID:0/007> File analysis..
<ID:0/007> Total Binary size: 7074 M
<ID:0/007> SetupConnection..
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I am currently downloading the most current stock Sprint firmware (N960USQS3DTB2) to see if I can atleast get the OS up to date. I was not sure if I need to be flashing an older build of XAA U1 firmware first? Any help would be much appreciated!
exact same error
I am having the same exact problem. SM-960U, oneUI 1.0, android 9, security patch december 1 2019. Bought from Amazon Renewed sold as a t-mobile unlocked but shows as a Sprint on imei checker.
Usb Debugging is turned on in developer options, shows as blue in odin but fails the exact same way.
I'm trying to flash up to android 10 with oneUI 2.0
try another odin version

Yeah Killadro I also bought off amazon renewed..same exact details! Said t mobile unlocked but it was sprint firmware. I called samsung and supposedly they are going to push an update for my vimeo at the end of the month to update to android 10 and ui 2.0..but it will still be sprint firmware. I am not really confident that it will actually come through.

On the note 9 N960U, you can flash any of the firmwares for a N960U or N960u1 & its the sim card you are using that adds the required Carrier info
Might try using this odin Odin3_v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD

I understand all NA note 9's have the same internals so I can install U or U1 versions but i cant get either to install past the error posted above.
I've tried Odin3_v3.14.1_3B_PatcheD and Odin3_v3.13.3_3B_PatcheD, guess i could try Odin3_v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD and see how it goes.
