How can i fix it?
Same problem here, I have Huawei AM116, the volume buttons was working on android 8 but on 9 !!
Can someone suggest some earbuds with working volume control buttons for Mi A2 + Android 9 ??

As the title states, can anyone confirm that these earphones are not working on the 2014 moto g?

Dayum, I guess these don't . I tried the piston 2.0 on htc one and iphone 5s. They work. I guess motorola cut some costs here. :'(
I'm using Mi In ear phones..Except volume buttons , Working perfectly !
For better sound quality , Change Equalizer settings
And, Volume buttons also working on some custom ROM's.
Pretty simple really, I have a set of Beats by Dre Studio DJ headphones with the in line control switch for volume +/- and Play/pause. The center button for play pause works, but the volume +/- buttons do not (they do work on my wife's iphone )
Searching this subject digs up a BUNCH of old threads, was wondering if anyone with a NOTE 4 has a solution to use the Beats headphones volume -/+ buttons inline controller?
THANKS.
Same Pause works not +/-
I got these Sennheiser CX 2.00G earphones and they have inline volume and play/pause controls of which only the play/pause works. I tested the earphones on a friend's Huawei P9 Lite and the controls worked without problem. I was wondering if there was a way to get them working on my phone too? I am running CM 13.0 20161221 Snapshot if thats important. I believe this issue is not hardware related as all 3.5mm plugs on Android devices use the same standards!
Some phones have additional stuff (not sure if I would call it hardware) to handle in-line volume controls. I have a pair of Piston 3s, and while the volume controls don't work on my Moto G 2014, they work on my Galaxy Tab 2. There's nothing you can do, just blame Motorola.
I currently got a hold of an old galaxy s3 headset with inline controls, vol + and - and a separate button. None of them work on my phone (running lineage 13 ATM), yet the earbuds work fine. I've even tried with a Philips adapter cable, the earbuds still work OK but the buttons don't even flinch. Using playerpro as my main music player, tries jays controls and headset droid. They don't even recognize the button presses but they detect when the headset is plugged and unplugged.
Is there a way I can use this headset with my phone? I do have exposed installed if that helps
Anyone?
Hi, is anyone using a pair of Bose QC20 (the wired noise canceling headphones) with the XZ1 compact?
Back in the days on the Z3C the volume buttons would work but not the play/stop button, is there anyone out there with this phone and these headphones to see if all buttons work or not?

I just got the phone and can answer my own question: yes, all buttons work as expected. :victory:
I have sony 1000M2 headphones and it depends.
Original sony player - and all buttons works.
But with Moon reader pro (for books listening via TTS) only volume up and down works. Pause does not work (forward/backward in not available in Moon reader pro). And it worked before on Z3C and MM.
As much as I have read it is partly Google problem with Oreo 8 and partly developers... It is expceted that after 8.1 update it should start working again...
Yes, it works

I have Bose QC25, the volume buttons, play/stop button, and the in-line microphone all work. If you have the Apple version of the cable the volume buttons will not work.
