Hello, I've got this phone quite recently and I noticed how it won't connect to another devices through Local WiFi, I've tried a game called Soul Knight with my gf on multiplayer mode, and unless I host we can't play 'cause my phone won't find her room.
Another app I use called Ionic Devapp tries to use the same system of detecting a LAN server that my PC is broadcasting, but that doesn't work either, I have to manually connect to my PC address (by entering the Local address) 'cause it won't find my "LAN server" no matter what, I've tried resetting network settings, reconnecting to WiFi, double checking that everything is fine but no luck, with my previous phone everything worked out just fine.
I want to know if it's a OS issue or my phone it's just faulty.

For some reason when I sync my tilt with vista, and try to to go to a website while it is synced, it just times out and deoesn't go anywhere... What would cause this? It syncs fine. It seems vista is not permiting it internet access.

You need to change the setting in Mobile Device Center to allow it.
I have looked through all the options and I can't find one that allows you to turn on the internet for a synced device.

I would like to be able to connect using 3G/HEDGE when i'm connected to my PC with activesync. At the moment, it alwais try to connect with the internet connection of the PC.

On your PC go to activesync, File, Connection Settings, and check Allow wireless connection on device when connected to desktop! Job done

I was thinking about watching free 3G TV with MyMobile (show your PPC on your PC). But the screen stay black on the PC while playing tv on the PPC...

How can i do it for (vista's) mobile device center?
So, am currently running CM 5.0.5.1 and for the life of me, cannot transfer data between the phone and any bluetooth enabled PC.....sometimes, the transfer initiates when using Bluetooth File transfer app, but gets cancelled just before it finishes.
So, is it a known problem or something? I have tried with multiple PCs and laptops with the same result.
Yes, it's a known problem.
As far as I know, no one's bluetooth file transfer works properly. It is insanely frustrating.
Hopefully google will fix it soon. I can't believe they release a product with a very obvious feature that doesn't work.

Some times the phone says it transferred correct, but the computer still says there was an error during transfer and the file never gets transferred.
Out of probably 30 files transfers I have tried, I have gotten 2 to work completely.

I've been USB tethering my Mi5 to windows 10 and using my 4g mobile data every evening for a week or so but ever since I installed latest MIUI update it hasn't been working. Device is recognised and shows up propperly but eventually gets identified and says no internet access. Have tried rebooting phone/modem/PC etc. Reinstalled the update, reinstalled windows drivers, tried USB tethering apps. They all seem to function properly but my phone won't provide internet to any connected device. The internet is working perfectly on the phone alone.
I've tried everything recommended by every guide even loosely related to tethering issues, Mi5 connectivity issues etc. Have USB debugging and all the other correct setting enabled. Tried everything short of downgrading the phone firmware.

My note8 has problem on USB Tethering when sharing internet to my PC (win10).
It breaks the connection and connects immediately again from time to time.
Sometimes it just do this even the Notebook PC is idle. Or when I unlock the phone, or use apps on the phone. It seems no pattern at all and the problem seems coming from phone itself.
I also tried and updated the Win10 driver or used other listed drivers without success. The problem still exist.
